1 Depois destas coisas, Naboth o Jezreelite tinha um vinhedo que ficava em Jezreel, ao lado do palácio de Ahab, rei de Samaria.

After these things Naboth the Izreelite had a vineyarde in Izreel, hard by the palace of Ahab King of Samaria.

2 Ahab falou com Naboth, dizendo: “Dê-me seu vinhedo, para que eu o tenha para um jardim de ervas, porque está perto de minha casa; e eu lhe darei por ele um vinhedo melhor do que ele”. Ou, se lhe parecer bom, eu lhe darei seu valor em dinheiro”.

And Ahab spake vnto Naboth, saying, Giue me thy vineyarde, that I may make mee a garden of herbes thereof, because it is neere by mine house: and I will giue thee for it a better vineyarde then it is: or if it please thee, I will giue thee the worth of it in money.

3 Naboth disse a Ahab: “Que Yahweh me proíba, que eu lhe dê a herança de meus pais”!

And Naboth said to Ahab, The Lord keepe me from giuing the inheritance of my father vnto thee.

4 Ahab entrou em sua casa amuado e zangado por causa da palavra que Naboth, o Jezreelita, lhe havia falado, pois ele havia dito: “Não lhe darei a herança de meus pais”. Ele se deitou na cama, virou o rosto e não quis comer pão.

Then Ahab came into his house heauie and in displeasure, because of the word which Naboth the Izreelite had spoken vnto him. for hee had sayde, I will not giue thee the inheritance of my fathers, and he lay vpon his bed, and turned his face and would eate no bread.

5 Mas Jezebel, sua esposa, veio até ele e lhe disse: “Por que seu espírito está tão triste que você não come pão?”.

Then Iezebel his wife came to him and said vnto him, Why is thy spirit so sad that thou eatest no bread?

6 Ele lhe disse: “Porque falei com Naboth, o Jezreelita, e lhe disse: 'Dê-me seu vinhedo por dinheiro; ou então, se lhe agradar, lhe darei outro vinhedo por ele'. Ele respondeu: 'Não lhe darei meu vinhedo'”.

And he said vnto her, Because I spake vnto Naboth the Izreelite, and sayd vnto him, Giue me thy vineyard for money, or if it please thee, I will giue thee another vineyard for it: but he answered, I wil not giue thee my vineyarde.

7 Jezebel sua esposa lhe disse: “Você agora governa o reino de Israel? Levantai-vos, comei pão e deixai que vosso coração se alegre”. Eu te darei a vinha de Naboth, a Jezreelita”.

Then Iezebel his wife sayde vnto him, Doest thou nowe gouerne the kingdome of Israel? vp, eate bread, and be of good cheere, I will giue thee the vineyard of Naboth the Izreelite.

8 Então ela escreveu cartas em nome de Ahab e as selou com seu selo, e enviou as cartas aos anciãos e aos nobres que estavam em sua cidade, que viviam com Nabot.

So she wrote letters in Ahabs name, and sealed them with his seale, and sent the letters vnto the Elders, and to the nobles that were in his citie dwelling with Naboth.

9 Ela escreveu nas cartas, dizendo: “Proclamem um jejum, e ponham Naboth no alto entre o povo”.

And shee wrote in the letters, saying, Proclaime a fast, and set Naboth among the chiefe of the people,

10 Ponha dois homens, homens maus, diante dele, e deixe-os testemunhar contra ele, dizendo: 'Amaldiçoou a Deus e ao rei! Então o levem para fora e o apedrejem até a morte”.

And set two wicked men before him, and let them witnesse against him, saying, Thou diddest blaspheme God and the King: then cary him out, and stone him that he may dye.

11 Os homens de sua cidade, mesmo os mais velhos e os nobres que viviam em sua cidade, fizeram como Jezebel lhes havia instruído nas cartas que ela havia escrito e enviado a eles.

And the men of his citie, euen the Elders and gouernours, which dwelt in his citie, did as Iezebel had sent vnto them: as it was written in the letters, which she had sent vnto them.

12 Eles proclamaram um jejum e colocaram Naboth no alto entre o povo.

They proclaimed a fast, and set Naboth among the chiefe of the people,

13 Os dois homens, os malvados, entraram e sentaram-se diante dele. Os ímpios testemunharam contra ele, mesmo contra Nabote, na presença do povo, dizendo: “Nabote amaldiçoou a Deus e ao rei! Depois o levaram para fora da cidade e o apedrejaram até a morte com pedras.

And there came two wicked men, and sate before him: and the wicked men witnessed against Naboth in the presence of the people saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the King. Then they caried him away out of the citie, and stoned him with stones, that he dyed.

14 Depois enviaram a Jezebel, dizendo: “Nabote foi apedrejado e está morto”.

Then they sent to Iezebel, saying, Naboth is stoned and is dead.

15 Quando Jezebel soube que Naboth tinha sido apedrejado e estava morto, Jezebel disse a Ahab: “Levanta-te, toma posse da vinha de Naboth, o Jezreelite, que ele se recusou a te dar por dinheiro; pois Naboth não está vivo, mas morto”.

And when Iezebel heard that Naboth was stoned and was dead, Iezebel sayd to Ahab, Vp, and take possession of the vineyarde of Naboth the Izreelite, which he refused to giue thee for money: for Naboth is not aliue, but is dead.

16 Quando Ahab soube que Naboth estava morto, Ahab levantou-se para descer para a vinha de Naboth, o Jezreelite, para tomar posse dela.

And when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead, he rose to go downe to the vineyard of Naboth the Izreelite, to take possession of it.

17 A palavra de Javé veio a Elias, o tishbite, dizendo:

And the word of the Lord came vnto Eliiah the Tishbite, saying,

18 “Levanta-te, desce ao encontro de Ahab, rei de Israel, que habita em Samaria. Eis que ele está na vinha de Nabot, onde desceu para tomar posse dela.

Arise, goe downe to meete Ahab King of Israel, which is in Samaria. loe, he is in the vineyarde of Naboth, whither he is gone downe to take possession of it.

19 Você falará com ele, dizendo: “Javé diz: “Você matou e também tomou posse?”. Você falará com ele, dizendo, 'Yahweh diz, “No lugar onde os cães lambem o sangue de Naboth, os cães lamberão seu sangue, até mesmo o seu”””.

Therefore shalt thou say vnto him, Thus sayth the Lord, Hast thou killed, and also gotten possession? And thou shalt speake vnto him, saying, Thus sayth the Lord, In the place where dogs licked the blood of Naboth, shall dogs licke euen thy blood also.

20 Ahab disse a Elijah: “Você me encontrou, meu inimigo?” Ele respondeu: “Eu o encontrei, porque você se vendeu para fazer o que é mau aos olhos de Iavé”.

And Ahab sayd to Eliiah, Hast thou found mee, O mine enemie? And he answered, I haue found thee: for thou hast solde thy selfe to worke wickednes in the sight of the Lord.

21 Eis que trarei o mal sobre ti, e te varrerei totalmente e cortarei de Ahab a todos que urinam contra um muro, e aquele que está calado e aquele que fica à solta em Israel.

Beholde, I will bring euill vpon thee, and wil take away thy posteritie, and wil cut off from Ahab him that pisseth against the wall, as well him that is shut vp, as him that is left in Israel,

22 Farei tua casa como a casa de Jeroboão, filho de Nebat, e como a casa de Baasa, filho de Ahijah, pela provocação com que me provocaste à ira, e fizeste Israel pecar”.

And I wil make thine house like the house of Ieroboam the sonne of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the sonne of Ahiiah, for the prouocation wherewith thou hast prouoked, and made Israel to sinne.

23 Yahweh também falou de Jezebel, dizendo: “Os cães comerão Jezebel junto à muralha de Jezreel.

And also of Iezebel spake the Lord, saying, The dogs shall eate Iezebel, by the wall of Izreel.

24 Os cães comerão aquele que morrer de Ahab na cidade; e os pássaros do céu comerão aquele que morrer no campo”.

The dogs shall eate him of Ahabs stocke, that dyeth in the citie: and him that dyeth in the fieldes, shall the foules of the ayre eate.

25 Mas não havia ninguém como Ahab, que se vendeu para fazer o que era mau aos olhos de Yahweh, a quem Jezebel, sua esposa, agitou.

(But there was none like Ahab, who did fell him selfe, to worke wickednesse in the sight of the Lord: whom Iezebel his wife prouoked.

26 Ele fez muito abominavelmente em seguir ídolos, de acordo com tudo o que os amoritas fizeram, que Javé expulsou diante dos filhos de Israel.

For he did exceeding abominably in following idoles, according to all that the Amorites did, whom the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.)

27 Quando Ahab ouviu essas palavras, rasgou suas roupas, colocou saco em seu corpo, jejuou, deitou-se em saco, e andou desanimado.

Nowe when Ahab heard those wordes, he rent his clothes, and put sackcloth vpon him and fasted, and lay in sackecloth and went softely.

28 A palavra de Yahweh veio a Elijah, o Tishbite, dizendo:

And the worde of the Lord came to Eliiah the Tishbite, saying,

29 “Veja como Ahab se humilha diante de mim? Porque ele se humilha diante de mim, eu não trarei o mal em seus dias; mas trarei o mal em sua casa nos dias de seu filho”.

Seest thou how Ahab is humbled before me? because he submitteth himselfe before me, I will not bring that euill in his dayes, but in his sonnes dayes wil I bring euill vpon his house.
