1 Naquela época Abijah, o filho de Jeroboam, adoeceu.
At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
2 Jeroboam disse a sua esposa: “Por favor, levante-se e disfarce-se, para que você não seja reconhecida como esposa de Jeroboam. Vá para Shiloh. Eis que Ahijah o profeta está lá, que disse que eu seria rei sobre este povo.
Then said Jeroboam to his wife—Arise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam, —and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
3 Leve consigo dez pães, alguns bolos e um pote de mel, e vá até ele. Ele vos dirá o que será da criança”.
and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him, —he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
4 A esposa de Jeroboam o fez, levantou-se e foi para Shiloh, e veio para a casa de Ahijah. Agora Ahijah não podia ver, pois seus olhos estavam fixos por causa de sua idade.
And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah, —now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
5 Yahweh disse a Ahijah: “Eis que a esposa de Jeroboão vem para lhe perguntar sobre seu filho, pois ele está doente. Diga-lhe tal e tal; pois será, quando ela entrar, que ela fingirá ser outra mulher”.
But, Yahweh, had said unto Ahijah—Lo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her, —though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
6 Então quando Ahijah ouviu o som de seus pés ao entrar pela porta, ele disse: “Entre, mulher de Jeroboam! Por que você finge ser outra? Pois fui enviado a você com pesadas notícias.
So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he said—Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam, —wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
7 Go, diga a Jeroboão: “Yahweh, o Deus de Israel, diz: “Porque te exaltei do meio do povo, e te fiz príncipe sobre meu povo Israel,
Go, say to Jeroboam—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people, —and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
8 e rasguei o reino da casa de Davi, e te dei a ti”; e ainda não foste como meu servo Davi, que guardou meus mandamentos, e que me seguiu de todo o coração, para fazer apenas o que estava certo aos meus olhos,
and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee, —and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
9 mas fizeste o mal acima de todos que foram antes de ti, e foste e fizeste para ti outros deuses, imagens fundidas, para me provocar à ira, e me lançaram nas suas costas,
but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee, —and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
10 portanto, eis que trarei o mal sobre a casa de Jeroboão, e cortarei de Jeroboão todo aquele que urina em um muro, aquele que está calado e aquele que fica à solta em Israel, e varrerei completamente a casa de Jeroboão, como um homem varre o esterco até que tudo desapareça.
therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel, —and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
11 Os cães comerão aquele que pertence a Jeroboão que morrer na cidade; e os pássaros do céu comerão aquele que morrer no campo, pois Yahweh o disse”'.
Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
12 Levante-se, portanto, e vá para sua casa. Quando seus pés entrarem na cidade, a criança morrerá.
Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house, —as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
13 Todo Israel chorará por ele e o enterrará; pois somente ele de Jeroboão virá à sepultura, porque nele se encontra algo de bom para Javé, o Deus de Israel, na casa de Jeroboão.
Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place, —because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14 Além disso, Javé levantará para si um rei sobre Israel que cortará a casa de Jeroboão. Este é o dia! O quê? Mesmo agora.
Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
15 Pois Javé atacará Israel, enquanto uma cana é sacudida na água; e arrancará Israel desta boa terra que deu a seus pais, e os espalhará para além do rio, porque fizeram seus bastões de Aserah, provocando Javé à ira.
Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates), —because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
16 Ele desistirá de Israel por causa dos pecados de Jeroboão, que ele pecou, e com os quais ele fez Israel pecar”.
That he may deliver up Israel, —on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
17 A esposa de Jeroboam se levantou e partiu, e veio para Tirzah. Quando ela chegou ao limiar da casa, a criança morreu.
Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah, —as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
18 Todo Israel o enterrou e chorou por ele, de acordo com a palavra de Javé, que ele falou por seu servo Ahijah, o profeta.
And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19 O resto dos atos de Jeroboão, como ele lutou e como reinou, eis que estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Israel.
Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
20 Os dias que Jeroboão reinou foram vinte e dois anos; depois ele dormiu com seus pais, e Nadab, seu filho, reinou em seu lugar.
And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years, —and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
21 Rehoboam, filho de Salomão, reinou em Judá. Roboão tinha quarenta e um anos quando começou a reinar, e reinou dezessete anos em Jerusalém, a cidade que Javé havia escolhido de todas as tribos de Israel, para colocar seu nome lá. O nome de sua mãe era Naamah, a amonita.
And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah, —forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mother’s name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
22 Judá fez o que era mau aos olhos de Iavé, e eles o provocaram a ciúmes com seus pecados que cometeram, sobretudo que seus pais tinham feito.
And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
23 Pois eles também construíram para si mesmos lugares altos, pilares sagrados e varas de Asherah em cada colina alta e debaixo de cada árvore verde.
And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems, —upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 Havia também sodomitas na terra. Eles faziam de acordo com todas as abominações das nações que Javé expulsava diante dos filhos de Israel.
Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land, —they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
25 No quinto ano do rei Roboão, Shishak, rei do Egito, enfrentou Jerusalém;
And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
26 e tirou os tesouros da casa de Iavé e os tesouros da casa do rei. Ele até tirou tudo, incluindo todos os escudos de ouro que Salomão havia feito.
and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away, —and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
27 O rei Roboão fez escudos de bronze em seu lugar, e os entregou às mãos dos capitães da guarda, que guardavam a porta da casa do rei.
So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze, —and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
28 Foi assim que, tantas vezes quanto o rei entrava na casa de Yahweh, a guarda os aborrecia e os trazia de volta para a sala da guarda.
And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
29 Agora o resto dos atos de Rehoboam, e tudo o que ele fez, não estão escritos no livro das crônicas dos reis de Judá?
Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
30 Havia uma guerra entre Roboão e Jeroboão continuamente.
And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
31 Rehoboam dormiu com seus pais, e foi enterrado com seus pais na cidade de David. O nome de sua mãe era Naamah, a amonita. Abijam, seu filho reinou em seu lugar.
So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess, —and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
