1 Crônicas 9
1 Então todo Israel foi listado por genealogias; e eis que elas estão escritas no livro dos reis de Israel. Judá foi levado cativo para a Babilônia por sua desobediência.
So all Israel were listed by genealogies; and behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel. Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience.
2 Now os primeiros habitantes que viveram em suas possessões em suas cidades foram Israel, os sacerdotes, os levitas, e os servos do templo.
Now the first inhabitants who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the temple servants.
3 Em Jerusalém, viviam os filhos de Judá, dos filhos de Benjamim e dos filhos de Efraim e Manassés:
In Jerusalem, there lived of the children of Judah, of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:
4 Uthai, filho de Amiúde, filho de Onri, filho de Imri, filho de Bani, dos filhos de Perez, filho de Judá.
Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah.
5 dos Shilonitas: Asaías, o primogênito, e seus filhos.
Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn and his sons.
6 Dos filhos de Zerah: de Jeuel e seus irmãos, seiscentos e noventa.
Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel and their brothers, six hundred ninety.
7 Dos filhos de Benjamim: Sallu, filho de Mesulão, filho de Hodavias, filho de Hassenua;
Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah;
8 e Ibneías, filho de Jeroham, e Elá, filho de Uzzi, filho de Michri; e Mesulão, filho de Sefatias, filho de Reuel, filho de Ibnija;
and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri; and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;
9 e seus irmãos, de acordo com suas gerações, novecentos e cinqüenta e seis. Todos esses homens eram chefes de família de seus pais, junto às casas de seus pais.
and their brothers, according to their generations, nine hundred fifty-six. All these men were heads of fathers’ households by their fathers’ houses.

12 e Adaías, filho de Jeroham, filho de Pascuro, filho de Malchijah; e Maasai, filho de Adiel, filho de Jahzerah, filho de Mesulão, filho de Mesilemite, filho de Imer;
and Adaiah the son of Jeroham, the son of Pashhur, the son of Malchijah; and Maasai the son of Adiel, the son of Jahzerah, the son of Meshullam, the son of Meshillemith, the son of Immer;
13 e seus irmãos, chefes das casas de seus pais, mil setecentos e sessenta; foram homens muito capazes para o trabalho do serviço da casa de Deus.
and their brothers, heads of their fathers’ houses, one thousand seven hundred sixty; they were very able men for the work of the service of God’s house.

Shallum was the son of Kore, the son of Ebiasaph, the son of Korah, and his brothers, of his father’s house, the Korahites, were over the work of the service, keepers of the thresholds of the tent. Their fathers had been over the LORD’s camp, keepers of the entry.
20 Phinehas, o filho de Eleazar, foi governante sobre eles no passado, e Yahweh estava com ele.
Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and the LORD was with him.

All these who were chosen to be gatekeepers in the thresholds were two hundred twelve. These were listed by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.

for the four chief gatekeepers, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God’s house.

They stayed around God’s house, because that was their duty; and it was their duty to open it morning by morning.
