Apocalipse 8
1 Quando o Cordeiro abriu o sétimo selo, houve um longo silêncio no céu, que durou quase meia hora.
And when He opened the seventh seal there was a stillness in heaven for about half an hour.
2 Eu vi os sete anjos que estavam em pé diante do trono. Eles receberam sete trombetas.
And I saw the seven angels who stood before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
3 E depois, outro anjo veio e ficou ao lado do altar. Ele tinha um incensário de ouro e recebeu uma grande quantidade de incenso para acrescentar às orações de todos os santos no altar dourado, que está diante do trono.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer. He was given lots of incense so that he could offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar that is before the throne.
4 E da mão do anjo que estava diante de Deus subiu a fumaça do incenso juntamente com as orações dos santos.
And the smoke of the incense with the prayers of the saints went up before God out of the angel's hand.
5 O anjo pegou o incensário e o encheu com o fogo do altar e, depois, jogou-o sobre a terra. Ouviu-se, então, o som de trovões, houve clarões dos relâmpagos e um terremoto.
Then the angel took the censer, filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it at the earth. And there were noises and thunders and lightnings and an earthquake.
6 Assim, os sete anjos que estavam com as trombetas se prepararam para tocá-las.
And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to trumpet.
7 O primeiro anjo tocou a sua trombeta. Pedras de gelo e fogo misturados com sangue caíram sobre a terra. Um terço da terra foi queimado, um terço das árvores se queimou, e toda a erva verde foi consumida pelas chamas.
So the first one trumpeted, and there appeared hail and fire mixed with blood, and it [the mixture] was thrown at the earth, and a third of the earth was burned up; that is, a third of the trees was burned up and all green grass was burned up.
8 O segundo anjo tocou a sua trombeta. Algo parecido com uma montanha imensa de fogo flamejante foi jogado no mar. Um terço do mar se transformou em sangue,
So the second angel trumpeted, and something like a great burning mountain was thrown into the sea, and a third of the sea became blood.
9 e um terço das criaturas que viviam no mar morreu. Além disso, um terço de todos os navios foi destruído.
And a third of the creatures with souls in the sea died. And a third of the ships were destroyed.
10 O terceiro anjo tocou a sua trombeta. Uma grande estrela caiu do céu, queimando brilhantemente. Ela caiu sobre um terço dos rios e das fontes de água.
So the third angel trumpeted, and a great star fell out of the sky, burning like a torch, and it fell upon a third of the rivers, and on the springs of waters.
11 O nome da estrela é Absinto, e um terço da água ficou amarga. E muitas pessoas morreram ao beber a água, porque ela havia se tornado venenosa.
The name of the star is called Wormwood; so a third of the waters were turned into wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they were made bitter.
12 O quarto anjo tocou a sua trombeta. Um terço do sol, da lua e das estrelas foi atingido, fazendo com que um terço deles perdesse o seu brilho. Assim, uma terça parte do dia perderia a sua luz, tornando-se como a noite.
So the fourth angel trumpeted, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them was darkened; so a third of the day did not shine, and the night likewise.
13 Eu vi e ouvi uma águia voando no meio do céu, dizendo bem alto: “Ai de vocês! Ai de vocês! Ai de vocês que estiverem vivendo na terra, quando os três últimos anjos tocarem as suas trombetas!”
And I saw and heard an eagle flying in midheaven saying with a loud voice, three times: “Woe, woe, woe to the inhabitants of the earth because of the remaining trumpet blasts of the three angels who are about to trumpet!”
