2 Coríntios 8
1 Irmãos e irmãs, nós queremos que vocês saibam a respeito da bênção de Deus concedida às igrejas da Macedônia.
Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the churches of Macedonia;
2 Embora eles tenham passado por dificuldades terríveis, agora estão transbordando de felicidade. E ainda que sejam muito pobres, eles ainda demonstram extrema generosidade.
how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.
3 Eu afirmo a vocês que eles deram o que podiam e, na verdade, até mais do que podiam. Por escolha própria,
For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,
4 eles insistiram muito para que deixássemos que eles participassem do privilégio de ajudar ao povo de Deus.
begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.
5 Eles não apenas fizeram o que esperávamos deles, como também primeiro se entregaram ao Senhor e, depois, a nós, como Deus queria que eles fizessem.
This was not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.
6 Assim encorajamos Tito, que foi quem começou esse trabalho com vocês, a voltar e completar esse generoso trabalho da parte de vocês.
So we urged Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.
7 Vocês têm tudo em grande quantidade: sua fé em Deus, sua eloquência ao falar, seu conhecimento espiritual, sua completa dedicação e seu amor por nós. Então, garantam que tudo isso também faça parte desse trabalho generoso de compartilhar.
But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in the love from us that is in you, see that you also abound in this grace.
8 Eu não estou obrigando-os a fazer isso, mas que provem a sinceridade do amor de vocês em comparação com a dedicação de outros.
I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.
9 Pois vocês conhecem a bênção que vem do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo que, mesmo sendo rico, se tornou pobre por vocês, para que, por sua pobreza, vocês pudessem se tornar ricos.
For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.
10 Este é o conselho que lhes dou: seria bom se vocês terminassem o que começaram. No ano passado, vocês não apenas foram os primeiros a doar, mas os primeiros a querer ajudar.
I give a judgment in this: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.
11 Então, agora, terminem o que planejaram fazer. Sejam tão entusiasmados em acabar quanto foram em planejar e deem de acordo com o que vocês possuem.
But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.
12 Se há boa vontade, então será aceito conforme o que vocês têm, e não segundo o que não têm;
For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you do not have.
13 pois, não se deve aliviar a vida dos outros e dificultar a vida de vocês; basta que sejam justos.
For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,
14 No momento, vocês têm mais do que o suficiente e podem satisfazer as necessidades que eles têm. Da mesma forma, quando eles tiverem mais do que precisam, eles também poderão ajudá-los. Assim, todos são tratados de forma justa.
but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack; that there may be equality.
15 As Sagradas Escrituras relatam: “O que tinha muito, não teve demais; e o que não tinha muito, nada lhe faltou.”
As it is written, "He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack."
16 Agradeçam a Deus por ele ter dado a Tito a mesma devoção por vocês que eu tenho.
But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.
17 Embora ele tenha concordado em fazer o que lhe dissemos, ele está indo até vocês, porque realmente quer fazer isso e, inclusive, já havia até mesmo decidido fazer.
For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.
18 Nós também estamos enviando com ele um irmão, que é elogiado por todas as igrejas por seu trabalho em anunciar o evangelho.
We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known through all the churches.
19 Ele também foi indicado pelas igrejas para nos acompanhar quando formos entregar esta generosa oferta. Nós fazemos isso para honrar o Senhor e para mostrar a nossa vontade de ajudar os outros.
Not only so, but who was also appointed by the churches to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.
20 Queremos evitar que qualquer pessoa nos critique sobre como usamos essa oferta.
We are avoiding this, that no one should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.
21 Estamos preocupados em fazer as coisas do modo certo, não apenas aos olhos do Senhor, mas, também, aos olhos das pessoas.
For we have regard for what is honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of others.
22 Nós também estamos enviando com eles outro irmão, que provou ser confiável em muitas ocasiões e que está ansioso por ajudar. Agora, ele está com mais vontade ainda de ajudar, por causa da grande confiança que ele tem em vocês.
We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.
23 Se alguém lhes perguntar a respeito de Tito, digam que ele é meu companheiro. Ele trabalha comigo em nome de vocês. Os outros irmãos são representantes das igrejas e honram a Cristo.
As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are apostles of the churches, the glory of Christ.
24 Então, por favor, que eles sejam bem recebidos em todas as igrejas e que vocês demonstrem para eles o seu amor, provando quanto nos orgulhamos, com razão, de vocês.
Therefore show the proof of your love to them in front of the churches, and of our boasting about you.
