2 Coríntios 13
1 Essa já é a terceira vez que vou visitá-los. “Qualquer acusação deve ser confirmada por duas ou três testemunhas.”
For the third time I am coming to see you. By the word of two or three witnesses each statement will be established.
2 Eu já alertei aqueles entre vocês que estavam pecando, em minha segunda visita. Mesmo que eu não esteja aí com vocês, eu estou novamente alertando aqueles que pecaram, assim como todos vocês também que, quando eu os visitar, não pouparei ninguém,
I have said it, and I say it again before I come, just as if I were with you on my second visit, though for the moment absent, I say to those who have been long sinning, as well as to all others – that if I come again, I will spare no one.
3 uma vez que vocês estão pedindo provas de que Cristo fala por mim. Ele não é fraco no modo como se relaciona com vocês. Muito pelo contrário, ele trabalha de forma intensa entre vocês.
And that will be the proof, which you are looking for, that the Christ speaks through me. There is no weakness in his dealings with you. No, he shows his power among you.
4 Mesmo que ele tenha sido crucificado em um estado de fragilidade, agora ele vive pelo poder de Deus. Nós também somos fracos nele, mas vocês verão que nós vivemos com ele, pelo poder de Deus.
For though his crucifixion was due to weakness, his life is due to the power of God. And we, also, are weak in his weakness, but with him we will live for you through the power of God.
5 Analisem a si mesmos para ver se vocês realmente têm fé em Deus. Coloquem-se à prova. Vocês não conseguem perceber que Jesus Cristo está em vocês? Bom, a não ser que tenham falhado ao se testarem.
Put yourselves to the test, to see whether you are holding to the faith. Examine yourselves. Surely you recognise this fact about yourselves – that Jesus Christ is in you! Unless indeed you cannot stand the test!
6 No entanto, espero que vocês percebam que nós não falhamos no teste.
But I hope that you will recognise that we can stand the test.
7 Oramos a Deus para que vocês não cometam nenhuma maldade. E isso, não para mostrar que fomos bem-sucedidos, mas para que vocês possam fazer o que é bom, mesmo se isso fizer parecer que falhamos.
We pray to God that you may do nothing wrong, not that we may be seen to stand the test, but that you may do what is right, even though we may seem not to stand the test.
8 Nós não podemos fazer nada contra a verdade, mas somente em favor da verdade.
We have no power at all against the truth, but we have power in the service of the truth.
9 Nós ficamos felizes quando estamos fracos e vocês fortes, pois oramos para que possam continuar a melhorar sempre.
We are glad when we are weak, if you are strong. And what we pray for is that you may become perfect.
10 É por isso que escrevo sobre isso, enquanto ainda não estou na presença de vocês, para que, quando eu estiver aí, eu não precise tratá-los de forma severa, ao usar minha autoridade. O Senhor me deu autoridade para fortalecer, e não para destruir.
This is my reason for writing as I am now doing, while I am away from you, so that, when I am with you, I may not act harshly in the exercise of the authority which the Lord gave me – and gave me for building up and not for pulling down.
11 Finalmente, irmãos e irmãs, eu me despeço de vocês. Continuem a se desenvolver espiritualmente. Incentivem uns aos outros. Estejam em harmonia. Vivam em paz. E o Deus do amor e da paz certamente estará com vocês.
And now, friends, goodbye. Aim at perfection; take courage; agree together; live in peace. And then God, the source of all love and peace, will be with you.

May the blessing of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion with the Holy Spirit, be with you all.
