1 Pedro 1
1 Esta carta é escrita por Pedro, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, e é enviada ao povo escolhido por Deus, que vive espalhado pelas províncias do Ponto, da Galácia, Capadócia, Ásia e Bitínia.
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the elect sojourners of the Dispersion in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia,
2 Vocês foram escolhidos por Deus, o Pai, em sua sabedoria e se tornaram justos pelo Espírito, para que obedecessem a Jesus Cristo e para que o sangue dele fosse aspergido sobre vocês. Que a bondade e a paz de Deus estejam cada vez mais com vocês!
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the setting apart of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling with the blood of Jesus Christ: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.
3 Louvado seja Deus, o Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo! Por causa de sua grande misericórdia, nós nascemos novamente e recebemos uma esperança viva, por meio da ressurreição de Jesus Cristo.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has given us another birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from among the dead,
4 Essa herança é eterna e nunca será destruída ou se acabará e está reservada no céu para vocês. (questioned)
into an imperishable and undefiled and unfading inheritance, already reserved in the heavens for you,
5 Graças a sua fé nele, Deus os protegerá com o seu poder, até que a salvação chegue; salvação que está pronta para ser revelada no fim dos tempos.
who are being guarded by the power of God through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
6 Então, fiquem felizes a respeito disso, ainda que a tristeza possa acompanhá-los por algum tempo, por causa das várias provações que ainda enfrentarão.
You should be overjoyed about this, even if just now, briefly, of necessity, you have been distressed by a variety of trials,
7 Essas provações demonstram que a fé de vocês em Deus é verdadeira, e elas se comparam ao fogo que é usado para comprovar que o ouro é verdadeiro, mesmo que isso não evite que o ouro possa ser destruído, e a fé de vocês vale muito mais do que ouro! E é dessa maneira que a fé de vocês em Deus será reconhecida e que vocês receberão aprovação, glória e honra quando Jesus Cristo aparecer.
so that the demonstrated genuineness of your faith (much more precious than gold that perishes, albeit tested through fire) may translate into praise, glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ
8 Vocês o amam sem nunca o terem visto. E mesmo que não possam vê-lo agora, vocês têm fé nele e há em vocês uma alegria imensa e que não pode ser descrita em palavras.
—whom not having understood you love, into whom believing (not yet seeing) you exult with joy inexpressible, already glorified,
9 A recompensa que vocês ganharão por ter fé nele é a salvação!
obtaining for yourselves the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 Era essa salvação que os profetas buscavam e investigavam, ao falarem da graça que está reservada para vocês.
Concerning this salvation the prophets, who prophesied about the grace that would come to you, searched and inquired diligently,
11 Eles tentaram descobrir quando e como isso iria acontecer, pois o Espírito de Cristo, que estava neles, falava claramente sobre os sofrimentos de Cristo e a glória que estava por vir.
investigating into whom, or what sort of time, the Spirit of Christ who was in them was indicating as He testified beforehand the sufferings that would be inflicted on Christ and the glories that would follow them.
12 Deus explicou para eles que o trabalho que estavam realizando não era para o benefício deles, mas para o de vocês, pois as coisas sobre as quais eles falavam vocês aprenderam com aqueles que lhes anunciaram o evangelho, por meio do Espírito Santo, que foi enviado do céu. Até mesmo os anjos gostariam de saber a respeito de tudo isso!
It was revealed to them that they were not ministering these things to themselves, but to you; which things have now been announced to you by those who proclaimed the gospel to you, with the Holy Spirit sent from heaven—things that angels really desire to look into.
13 Estejam preparados! E fiquem alerta! Concentrem a sua esperança exclusivamente na bênção que lhes será dada, quando Jesus for revelado.
Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, staying sober, rest your hope fully upon the grace being brought to you in the revelation of Jesus Christ—
14 Sejam como crianças, que fazem o que lhes mandam. Não aceitem serem moldados por seus velhos desejos de pecar, quando ainda não sabiam que havia algo muito melhor.
as children of obedience, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts as in your ignorance,
15 Agora, vocês precisam ser santos em tudo o que fazem, exatamente como Deus, que os chamou, é santo.
but just as He who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your way of life,
16 Como está escrito nas Sagradas Escrituras: “Vocês devem ser santos, pois Eu sou santo.”
because it is written, “You shall be holy, for I am holy.”
17 Por vocês o chamarem de Pai e reconhecerem que ele julga a todos de forma imparcial, com base no que as pessoas fazem, tenham respeito por ele, durante o resto da vida de vocês.
Also, since you invoke as Father the One who without partiality judges according to each one's work, conduct yourselves during the time of your sojourn here in fear,
18 Vocês já sabem que não foram libertados do seu modo de vida inútil, herdado dos seus antepassados, por meio de coisas sem valor permanente como prata ou ouro.
knowing that it was not with perishable things (silver or gold) that you were redeemed from the futile way of life handed down by your forefathers,
19 A libertação de vocês teve um preço muito alto. Custou o sangue de Cristo, que era como um cordeiro sem fraquezas ou defeitos.
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a faultless and pure lamb;
20 Ele foi escolhido antes mesmo do mundo ser criado, mas só foi revelado recentemente, para o próprio bem de vocês.
who was foreknown indeed before the foundation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake,
21 Por meio dele, vocês creem em Deus, que o ressuscitou dos mortos e o encheu de glória, para vocês confiarem e terem esperança em Deus.
who through Him are believing into God, who raised Him out from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are into God.
22 Agora que vocês se dedicaram a seguir a verdade, amem uns aos outros de forma sincera, como uma verdadeira família.
Since you have purified your souls by obeying the truth through the Spirit, resulting in sincere brotherly love, you must love one another fervently from a pure heart,
23 Vocês renasceram, não como um produto de uma “semente” mortal, mas, sim, imortal, por meio da mensagem viva e eterna que vem de Deus. (aiōn g165)
having been begotten again, not from a corruptible seed but an incorruptible, through the living Word of God that remains valid forever. (aiōn g165)
24 Pois: “Todas as pessoas são como a erva do campo, e a glória delas como as flores da erva. Quando a erva seca, a flor também cai,
For: “All flesh is as grass, and all man's glory as flower of grass. The grass withers and its flower falls off, but the Lord's word endures forever.”
