Romanos 10
1 Irmãos, o bom desejo do meu coração, e a oração que [faço] a Deus por eles, é que sejam salvos.
Brothers, the desire of my heart and my prayer to God is that Israel may be saved.
2 Pois lhes dou testemunho de que eles têm zelo por Deus, mas não com entendimento.
I can testify that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge.
3 Pois, como ignoraram a justiça de Deus, e procuraram estabelecer a sua própria justiça, eles não se sujeitaram à justiça de Deus.
For they do not understand the righteousness of God, and by seeking to establish their own righteousness, they have not submitted to God's righteousness.
4 Porque o fim da Lei é Cristo, para justiça de todo aquele que crê.
For Christ is the end of the law so that there may be righteousness for everyone who believes.
5 Pois Moisés descreve a justiça que é pela Lei: “A pessoa que praticar estas coisas viverá por elas”.
Moses writes about the righteousness that is by the law: “The person who does these things will live by them.”
6 Mas a justiça que é pela fé assim diz: “Não digas em teu coração: ‘Quem subirá ao céu?’ (Isto é, trazer Cristo abaixo),
But the righteousness that is by faith speaks like this: “Do not say in yoʋr heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’” (that is, to bring Christ down)
“or, ‘Who will go down into the abyss?’” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). (Abyssos g12)
8 Porém, o que diz? “A palavra está perto de ti, na tua boca, e no teu coração”. Esta é a palavra da fé, que pregamos.
But what does it say? “The word is near yoʋ, in yoʋr mouth and in yoʋr heart” (that is, the word of faith that we preach),
9 Pois, se com a tua boca declarares que Jesus é Senhor, e em teu coração creres que Deus o ressuscitou dos mortos, serás salvo.
because if yoʋ confess with yoʋr mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe with yoʋr heart that God raised him from the dead, yoʋ will be saved.
10 Pois com o coração se crê para a justiça, e com a boca se confessa para a salvação.
For with the heart belief is exercised, resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made, resulting in salvation.
11 Porque a Escritura diz: “Todo aquele que nele crê não será envergonhado.”
As the Scripture says, “No one who believes in him will be put to shame.”
12 Pois não há diferença entre judeu e grego, porque um mesmo é o Senhor de todos, rico para todos os que o invocam.
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call upon him.
13 Pois: “Todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo.”
For “everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.”
14 Mas como invocarão aquele em quem não creram? E como crerão naquele de quem não ouviram? E como ouvirão, sem haver quem pregue?
How then will they call upon him in whom they have not believed? And how will they believe in him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without someone preaching?
15 E como pregarão, se não forem enviados? Como está escrito: “Como são agradáveis os pés dos que anunciam as boas novas!”
And how will they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who preach good news of good things!”
16 Mas nem todos obedeceram ao evangelho, pois Isaías diz: “Senhor, quem creu na nossa pregação?”
But not all the Israelites have obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed our report?”
17 Portanto, a fé [vem] pelo ouvir, e o ouvir pela palavra de Cristo.
So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes through the word of God.
18 Mas pergunto: por acaso não ouviram? Sim, certamente. [Pois: ] “Sua voz saiu por toda a terra, e suas palavras até os confins do mundo.”
But I ask, have they not heard? On the contrary, “The message has gone out into all the earth, and the words to the ends of the world.”
19 Mas pergunto: por acaso Israel não entendeu? Primeiramente Moisés disse: “Eu vos provocarei ciúmes com os que não são do povo; com uma nação insensata vos provocarei à ira.”
Again I ask, did Israel not understand? First Moses says, “I will provoke you to jealousy by that which is not a nation; by a nation that has no understanding I will provoke you to anger.”
20 E Isaías ousou dizer: “Fui achado pelos que não me buscavam; fui revelado aos que por mim não perguntavam.”
And Isaiah is even bold enough to say, “I was found by those who were not seeking me; I became known to those who were not asking for me.”
21 Mas sobre Israel diz: “Todo o dia estendi as minhas mãos a um povo rebelde e hostil.”
But to Israel he says, “All day long I have held out my hands to a disobedient and contrary people.”
