Apocalipse 8
1 E quando ele abriu o sétimo selo, houve silêncio no céu por cerca de meia hora.
And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.
2 E eu vi os sete anjos, que estavam diante de Deus; e foram-lhes dadas sete trombetas.
And I saw the seven angels who stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.
3 E veio outro anjo, e se ficou junto ao altar, tendo um incensário de ouro; e muitos incensos lhe foram dados, para que oferecesse com as orações de todos os santos sobre o altar de ouro que está diante do trono.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given to him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.
4 E a fumaça dos incensos com as orações dos santos subiu desde a mão do anjo até diante de Deus.
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended before God out of the angel’s hand.
5 E o anjo tomou o incensário, e o encheu do fogo do altar, e o lançou sobre a terra; e houve vozes, trovões, relâmpagos e terremotos.
And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it upon the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.
6 E os sete anjos, que tinham as sete trombetas, se prepararam para [as] tocarem.
And the seven angels who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.
7 E o primeiro anjo tocou sua trombeta; e houve saraiva e fogo misturado com sangue; e foram lançados sobre a terra; e a terça parte da terra foi queimada, e a terça parte das árvores se queimou, e toda a erva verde foi queimada.
The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mixed with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.
8 E o segundo anjo tocou sua trombeta; e como um grande monte ardendo em fogo foi lançado ao mar; e a terça [parte] do mar se tornou sangue;
And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;
9 E morreu a terça [parte] das criaturas que tinham vida no mar; e a terça [parte] das embarcações foi destruída.
And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.
10 E o terceiro anjo tocou sua trombeta; e uma grande estrela caiu do céu ardendo como uma tocha; e ela caiu na terça [parte] dos rios, e nas fontes de águas.
And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;
11 E o nome da estrela se chama Absinto; e a terça [parte] das águas se tornou absinto; e muitos homens morreram por causa das águas, porque elas se tornaram amargas.
And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died from the waters, because they were made bitter.
12 E o quarto anjo tocou sua trombeta; e a terça [parte] do sol foi ferida, e [também] a terça [parte] da lua, e a terça [parte] das estrelas; para que a terça [parte] deles se escurecesse, e o dia não clareasse pela sua terça [parte]; e [se tornasse] semelhante à noite.
And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part of it, and the night likewise.
13 E olhei, e ouvi uma águia que estava voando pelo meio do céu, dizendo em alta voz: “Ai, ai, ai dos que habitam sobre a terra por causa das demais vozes das trombetas dos três anjos que ainda vão tocar!”
And I beheld, and heard an angel flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe, to the inhabiters of the earth by reason of the other voices of the trumpet of the three angels, which are yet to sound!
