Apocalipse 18
1 E depois destas coisas eu vi outro anjo descendo do céu, tendo grande poder; e a terra foi iluminada pela sua glória.
And after these things I saw another messenger coming down out of Heaven, having great authority, and the earth was lightened from his glory,
2 E ele clamou fortemente em alta voz, dizendo: “Caiu! Caiu a grande Babilônia, e ela se tornou habitação de demônios, e prisão de todo espírito imundo, e prisão de toda ave impura e odiável;
and he cried in might [with] a great voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she became a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird,
3 porque todas as nações têm bebido do vinho da ira da prostituição dela, e os reis da terra se prostituíram com ela, e os comerciantes da terra se enriqueceram com o poder da sensualidade dela.”
because all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her whoredom, and the kings of the earth committed whoredom with her, and merchants of the earth were made rich from the power of her indulgence.”
4 E eu ouvi outra voz do céu, dizendo: “Saí dela, povo meu! Para que não sejais participantes dos pecados dela, e para que não recebais das pragas dela.
And I heard another voice out of Heaven, saying, “Come forth out of her, My people, that you may not partake with her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues,
5 Porque os pecados dela se acumularam até o céu, e Deus se lembrou das maldades dela.
because her sins have reached up to Heaven, and God remembered her unrighteousness.
6 Retribuí a ela assim como ela tem vos retribuído, e duplicai a ela em dobro, conforme as obras dela; no cálice em que ela preparou, preparai em dobro para ela.
Render to her as she also rendered to you, and double to her twofold according to her works; in the cup that she mingled mingle to her double.
7 O quanto ela glorificou a si mesma, e viveu sensualmente, tanto quanto dai a ela [de] tormento e pranto; porque ela em seu coração diz: ‘Eu estou assentada [como] rainha e não sou viúva, e nenhum pranto eu verei.’
As much as she glorified herself and indulged, so much torment and sorrow give to her, because in her heart she says, I sit [as] queen, and I am not a widow, and I will not see sorrow;
8 Portanto em um dia virão as pragas sobre ela: morte, pranto e fome; e ela será queimada com fogo; porque forte [é] o Senhor Deus, que a julga.
because of this, in one day, will come her plagues: death, and sorrow, and famine; and she will be utterly burned in fire, because strong [is] the LORD God who is judging her;
9 E os reis da terra, que se prostituíram com ela, e viveram sensualmente, prantearão por ela, quando virem a fumaça de sua queima.
and the kings of the earth will weep over her and strike themselves for her, who committed whoredom and indulged with her, when they may see the smoke of her burning,
10 Estando de longe, por medo do tormento dela, dizendo: ‘Ai, ai daquela grande cidade de Babilônia, aquela forte cidade! Porque em uma hora veio o teu julgamento.’
having stood from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city! Babylon, the strong city! Because in one hour your judgment came.
11 E os comerciantes da terra choram e lamentam sobre ela, porque ninguém mais compra as mercadorias deles:
And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo anymore;
12 mercadoria de ouro, e de prata, e de pedras preciosas, e de pérolas, e de linho fino, e de púrpura, e de seda, e de escarlate; e de toda madeira aromática, e de todo objeto de marfim, e de todo objeto de madeira valiosíssima, e liga de cobre, e de ferro, e de mármore;
cargo of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all fragrant wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel of most precious wood, and brass, and iron, and marble,
13 e canela, e perfumes, e óleo aromático, e incenso, e vinho, e azeite, e farinha fina, e trigo, e gado, e ovelhas; e de cavalos, e de carruagens, e de corpos e almas humanas.
and cinnamon, and amomum, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of bodies and souls of men.
14 E o fruto do mau desejo de tua alma foi embora de ti; e todas as coisas deliciosas e excelentes foram embora de ti; e tu não mais as acharás.
And the fruits of the desire of your soul went away from you, and all things—the sumptuous and the radiant—went away from you, and no more at all may you find them.
15 Os comerciantes dessas coisas, que por ela se enriqueceram, estarão de longe por medo do tormento dela, chorando e lamentando,
The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far off because of the fear of her torment, weeping, and mourning,
16 E dizendo: ‘Ai, ai daquela grande cidade, que estava vestida de linho fino, e púrpura, e escarlate; e adornada com ouro, pedras preciosas, e pérolas! Porque em uma hora tantas riquezas foram assoladas.’
and saying, Woe, woe, the great city, that was clothed with fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and gilded in gold, and precious stone, and pearls—
17 E todo capitão de embarcação, e todos da multidão que [estavam] em barcos, e marinheiros, e todos os que trabalham no mar, se puseram de longe;
because in one hour so much riches were made desolate! And every shipmaster, and all the company on the ships, and sailors, and as many as work the sea, stood far off,
18 e vendo a fumaça da queima dela, clamaram, dizendo: ‘[Havia] algo comparável a esta grande cidade?’
and were crying, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like to the great city?
19 E eles lançaram pó em suas cabeças, e clamaram, chorando e lamentando, dizendo: ‘Ai, ai daquela grande cidade, em que todos os que tinham barcos no mar se enriqueceram da opulência dela! Porque em uma hora ela foi assolada.’
And they cast dust on their heads, and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, woe, the great city! In which were made rich all having ships in the sea, out of her costliness—for in one hour was she made desolate.
20 “Alegra-te sobre ela, ó céu; e [também] vós santos apóstolos e profetas; porque Deus [já] julgou contra ela a vossa causa.”
Be glad over her, O Heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, because God judged your judgment of her!”
21 E um forte anjo levantou uma pedra, como uma grande pedra de moinho, e [a] lançou no mar, dizendo: “Com tal violência Babilônia será lançada, aquela grande cidade, e não mais será achada.
And one strong messenger took up a stone as a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence will Babylon be cast, the great city, and may not be found anymore at all;
22 E voz de harpistas, e de músicos, e de flautistas, e de tocadores de trombeta, não mais se ouvirá em ti; e nenhum artesão de toda arte não mais se achará em ti; e ruído de moinho não mais se ouvirá em ti.
and voice of harpists, and musicians, and pipers, and trumpeters, may not be heard at all in you anymore; and any craftsman of any craft may not be found at all in you anymore; and noise of a millstone may not be heard at all in you anymore;
23 E luz de lâmpada não mais iluminará em ti; e voz de noivo e de noiva não mais se ouvirá em ti; porque teus comerciantes eram os grandes da terra, porque por tuas feitiçarias todas as nações foram enganadas.
and light of a lamp may not shine at all in you anymore; and voice of bridegroom and of bride may not be heard at all in you anymore; because your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were led astray in your sorcery,
24 E nela se achou o sangue dos profetas e dos santos, e de todos os que foram mortos sobre a terra.”
and in her blood of prophets and of holy ones was found, and of all those who have been slain on the earth.”
