Salmos 87

1 Salmo e cântico, dos filhos de Coré: Seu fundamento está nos santos montes.

The city that Yahweh established is on his sacred hill.

2 O SENHOR ama os portões de Sião mais que todas as habitações de Jacó.

He loves that city, Jerusalem, more than he loves any other city in Israel.

3 Gloriosas coisas são faladas de ti, ó cidade de Deus. (Selá)

[You people in] [APO] the city that God (owns/lives in), people say wonderful things about your city.

4 Farei menção de Raabe e Babilônia aos que me conhecem; eis que da Filístia, Tiro e Cuxe [se dirá]: Este é nascido ali.

[Some of those who know about God are the people of] Egypt and Babylonia, and also [the people of] Philistia and Tyre and Ethiopia; [some day they all] will say, “[Although I was not born in Jerusalem], [because I belong to Yahweh, it is as though] I was born there.”

5 E de Sião se dirá: Este e aquele outro nasceram ali. E o próprio Altíssimo a manterá firme.

And concerning Jerusalem, people will say [“It is as though] everyone was born there, and Almighty God will cause that city to remain strong/safe/secure.”

6 O SENHOR contará, quando escrever dos povos: Este nasceu ali. (Selá)

Yahweh will write a list of [the names of] the people of various groups [who belong to him], and he will say that [he considers them] all to be citizens of Jerusalem.

7 Assim como os cantores e instrumentistas; todas as minhas fontes estão em ti.

They will all dance and sing, saying, “Jerusalem is the source of all our blessings.”
