Salmos 124

1 Cântico dos degraus, de Davi: Diga, Israel: O que [seria de nós] se o SENHOR não estivesse conosco?

A Song of Ascents; of David. 'If it had not been the LORD who was for us', let Israel now say;

2 Se o SENHOR não estivesse conosco, quando os homens se levantaram contra nós,

'If it had not been the LORD who was for us, when men rose up against us,

3 Eles teriam nos devorado vivos, quando o furor deles se acendeu contra nós.

Then they had swallowed us up alive, when their wrath was kindled against us;

4 As águas teriam nos coberto, [e] a corrente de águas teria passado por sobre nossas almas.

Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul;

5 Águas violentas teriam passado por sobre nossas almas.

Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.'

6 Bendito seja o SENHOR, que não nos entregou como presa aos dentes deles.

Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7 Nossa alma escapou como um pássaro da armadilha dos caçadores; a cadeia se quebrou, e nós escapamos.

Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8 Nosso socorro está no nome do SENHOR, que fez o céu e a terra.

Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
