Salmos 118
1 Agradecei ao SENHOR, porque ele é bom; pois sua bondade [dura] para sempre.
O give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; For his kindness endureth for ever!
2 Diga agora Israel, que sua bondade [dura] para sempre.
Let Israel now say, His kindness endureth for ever!
3 Diga agora casa de Arão, que sua bondade [dura] para sempre.
Let the house of Aaron now say, His goodness endureth for ever!
4 Digam agora os que temem ao SENHOR, que sua bondade [dura] para sempre.
Let all who fear the LORD say, His kindness endureth for ever!
5 Na angústia clamei ao SENHOR; [e] o SENHOR me respondeu, e [me pôs] num lugar amplo.
I called upon the LORD in distress; He heard, and set me in a wide place.
6 O SENHOR está comigo, não temerei; o que poderá me fazer o homem?
The LORD is on my side, I will not fear: What can man do to me?
7 O SENHOR está comigo entre os que ajudam; por isso verei [o fim] daqueles que me odeiam.
The LORD is my helper; I shall see my desire upon my enemies.
8 Melhor é buscar refúgio no SENHOR do que confiar no homem.
It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man;
9 Melhor é buscar refúgio no SENHOR do que confiar em príncipes.
It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.
10 Todas as nações me cercaram; [mas foi] no nome do SENHOR que eu as despedacei.
All the nations beset me around, But in the name of the LORD I destroyed them.
11 Cercaram-me, cercaram-me mesmo; [mas foi] no nome do SENHOR que eu as despedacei.
They beset me on every side; But in the name of the LORD I destroyed them.
12 Cercaram-me como abelhas, mas se apagaram como fogo de espinhos; [porque] foi no nome do SENHOR que eu as despedacei.
They beset me around like bees; They were quenched like the fire of thorns, For in the name of the LORD I destroyed them.
13 Com força me empurraste para que eu caísse; mas o SENHOR me ajudou.
Thou didst assail me with violence to bring me down! But the LORD was my support.
14 O SENHOR é minha força e [minha] canção, porque ele tem sido minha salvação.
The LORD is my glory and my song; For to him I owe my salvation.
15 Nas tendas dos justos há voz de alegria e salvação; a mão direita do SENHOR faz proezas.
The voice of joy and salvation is in the habitations of the righteous: “The right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly;
16 A mão direita do SENHOR se levanta; a mão direita do SENHOR faz proezas.
The right hand of the LORD is exalted; The right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.”
17 Eu não morrerei, mas viverei; e contarei as obras do SENHOR.
I shall not die, but live, And declare the deeds of the LORD.
18 É verdade que o SENHOR me castigou, porém ele não me entregou à morte.
The LORD hath sorely chastened me, But he hath not given me over to death.
19 Abri para mim as portas da justiça; entrarei por elas [e] louvarei ao SENHOR.
Open to me the gates of righteousness, That I may go in, and praise the LORD!
20 Esta é a porta do SENHOR, pela qual os justos entrarão.
This is the gate of the LORD, Through which the righteous enter.
21 Eu te louvarei porque tu me respondeste e me salvaste.
I praise thee that thou hast heard me, And hast been my salvation.
22 A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram se tornou cabeça de esquina.
“The stone which the builders rejected Hath become the chief corner-stone.
23 Pelo SENHOR isto foi feito, [e] é maravilhoso aos nossos olhos.
This is the LORD'S doing; It is marvellous in our eyes!
24 Este é o dia em que o SENHOR agiu; alegremos e enchamos de alegria nele.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
25 Ah, SENHOR, salva-nos! Ah, SENHOR, faze [-nos] prosperar!
Hear, O LORD! and bless us! Hear, O LORD! and send us prosperity!”
26 Bendito aquele que vem no nome do SENHOR; nós vos bendizemos desde a casa do SENHOR.
“Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD! We bless you from the house of the LORD.”
27 O SENHOR é o [verdadeiro] Deus, que nos deu luz; atai os [sacrifícios] da festa, para [levá-los] aos chifres do altar.
“Jehovah is God, he hath shone upon us: Bind the sacrifice with cords to the horns of the altar!”
28 Tu és meu Deus, por isso eu te louvarei. Eu te exaltarei, meu Deus.
Thou art my God, and I will praise thee; Thou art my God, and I will exalt thee!
29 Agradecei ao SENHOR, porque ele é bom; pois sua bondade [dura] para sempre.
