Provérbios 21
1 [Como] ribeiros de águas é o coração do rei na mão do SENHOR, ele o conduz para onde quer.
[Like] channels of water, is the heart of a king, in the hand of Yahweh, —whithersoever he will, he turneth it.
2 Todo caminho do homem é correto aos seus [próprios] olhos; mas o SENHOR pesa os corações.
Every way of a man, may be right in his own eyes, but, he that testeth hearts, is Yahweh.
3 Praticar justiça e juízo é mais aceitável ao SENHOR do que sacrifício.
To do righteousness and justice, is more choice to Yahweh than sacrifice.
4 Olhos orgulhosos e coração arrogante: a lavoura dos perversos é pecado.
Loftiness of eyes, and ambition of heart—the lamp of the lawless, are sin.
5 Os planos de quem trabalha com empenho somente [levam] à abundância; mas [os de] todo apressado somente à pobreza.
The plans of the diligent, tend only to abundance, but, of every one that is urgent, only to want.
6 Trabalhar [para obter] tesouros com língua mentirosa é algo inútil [e] fácil de se perder; os que [assim fazem] buscam a morte.
The gaining of treasures with a tongue of falsehood, is a vapour driven away, [they who seek them] seek death,
7 A violência [praticada] pelos perversos os destruirá, porque se negam a fazer o que é justo.
The violence of the lawless, shall drag them away, —because they have refused to do justice.
8 O caminho do homem transgressor [é] problemático; porém a obra do puro é correta.
Crooked is the way of a guilty man, but, as for the pure, straight is his dealing.
9 É melhor morar num canto do terraço do que numa casa espaçosa com uma mulher briguenta.
Better to dwell on the corner of the roof, than a quarrelsome wife, and a house in common.
10 A alma do perverso deseja o mal; seu próximo não lhe agrada em seus olhos.
The soul of the lawless man, craveth mischief, his own friend, findeth no favour in his eyes.
11 Castigando ao zombador, o ingênuo se torna sábio; e ensinando ao sábio, ele ganha conhecimento.
When the scoffer is punished, the simple, becometh wise, when the wise is instructed, he receiveth knowledge.
12 O justo considera prudentemente a casa do perverso; ele transtorna os perversos para a ruína.
The Righteous One observeth the house of the lawless, —He is ready to cast down lawless men into misfortune.
13 Quem tapa seu ouvido ao clamor do pobre, ele também clamará, mas não será ouvido.
He that shutteth his ear from the cry of the poor, even he, shall call, and not be answered.
14 O presente em segredo extingue a ira; e a dádiva no colo [acalma] o forte furor.
A gift in secret, quencheth anger, and, a present in the bosom, mighty wrath.
15 Alegria para o justo é fazer justiça; mas [isso é] pavor para os que praticam maldade.
It is a joy, to a righteous man, to do justice, but, dismay, to the workers of iniquity.
16 O homem que se afasta do caminho do entendimento repousará no ajuntamento dos mortos.
The man who wandereth from the way of discretion, in the gathered host of the shades, shall settle down.
17 Quem ama o prazer sofrerá necessidade; aquele que ama o vinho e o azeite nunca enriquecerá.
A needy man, shall he be that loveth merriment, the lover of wine and oil, shall not become rich.
18 O resgate [em troca] do justo é o perverso; e no lugar do reto [fica] o transgressor.
A ransom for the righteous, is the lawless, and, instead of upright men, the traitor.
19 É melhor morar em terra deserta do que com uma mulher briguenta e que se irrita facilmente.
Better to dwell in a desert land, than with a woman, quarrelsome and provoking.
20 [Há] tesouro desejável e azeite na casa do sábio; mas o homem tolo é devorador.
Desirable treasure and oil, are in the home of the wise, but, a man who is a dullard, will destroy it.
21 Quem segue a justiça e a bondade achará vida, justiça e honra.
He that pursueth righteousness and lovingkindness, shall find life, righteousness and honour.
22 O sábio passa por cima da cidade dos fortes e derruba a fortaleza em que confiam.
A city of heroes, doth a wise man scale, and bringeth down the strength of its confidence.
23 Quem guarda sua boca e sua língua guarda sua alma de angústias.
He that keepeth his mouth and his tongue, keepeth, out of distresses, his soul.
24 “Zombador” é o nome do arrogante e orgulhoso; ele trata [os outros] com uma arrogância irritante.
A haughty insolent one—Scoffer is his name, is he that acteth in a transport of pride.
25 O desejo do preguiçoso o matará, porque suas mãos se recusam a trabalhar;
The craving of the sluggard, killeth him, for his hands have refused to work.
26 Ele fica desejando suas cobiças o dia todo; mas o justo dá, e não deixa de dar.
All the day, he greatly craveth, whereas, the righteous, giveth, and doth not spare.
27 O sacrifício dos perversos é abominável; quanto mais quando a oferta é feita com má intenção.
The sacrifice of the lawless, is an abomination, how much more, when, with wickedness, he bringeth it in!
28 A testemunha mentirosa perecerá; porém o homem que ouve [a verdade] falará com sucesso.
A false witness, shall perish, but, the man who hearkeneth, with abiding effect, shall speak.
29 O homem perverso endurece seu rosto, mas o correto confirma o seu caminho.
A lawless man emboldeneth his face, but, as for the upright, he, directeth his ways.
30 Não há sabedoria, nem entendimento, nem conselho contra o SENHOR.
There is no wisdom, nor understanding, nor counsel, to confront Yahweh.
31 O cavalo é preparado para o dia da batalha, mas a vitória [vem] do SENHOR.
The horse, is prepared for the day of battle, but, to Yahweh, pertaineth the victory.
