Provérbios 16
1 Do homem são os planejamentos do coração, mas a reposta da boca [vem] do SENHOR.
The preparations of the heart belong to man: but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.
2 Todos os caminhos do homem são puros aos seus [próprios] olhos; mas o SENHOR pesa os espíritos.
All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes: but the LORD weigheth the spirits.
3 Confia tuas obras ao SENHOR, e teus pensamentos serão firmados.
Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
4 O SENHOR fez tudo para seu propósito; e até ao perverso para o dia do mal.
The LORD hath made every thing for its own end: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil.
5 O SENHOR abomina todo orgulhoso de coração; certamente não ficará impune.
Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: [though] hand [join] in hand, he shall not be unpunished.
6 Com misericórdia e fidelidade a perversidade é reconciliada; e com o temor ao SENHOR se desvia do mal.
By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
7 Quando os caminhos do homem são agradáveis ao SENHOR, ele faz até seus inimigos terem paz com ele.
When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
8 Melhor é o pouco com justiça, do que a abundância de rendas com injustiça.
Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues with injustice.
9 O coração do homem planeja seu caminho, mas é o SENHOR que dirige seus passos.
A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
10 Nos lábios do rei estão palavras sublimes; sua boca não transgride quando julga.
A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth shall not transgress in judgment.
11 O peso e a balança justos pertencem ao SENHOR; a ele pertencem todos os pesos da bolsa.
A just balance and scales are the LORD’S: all the weights of the bag are his work.
12 Os reis abominam fazer perversidade, porque com justiça é que se confirma o trono.
It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.
13 Os lábios justos são do agrado dos reis, e eles amam ao que fala palavras direitas.
Righteous lips are the delight or kings; and they love him that speaketh right.
14 A ira do rei é como mensageiros de morte; mas o homem sábio a apaziguará.
The wrath of a king is [as] messengers of death: but a wise man will pacify it.
15 No brilho do rosto do rei há vida; e seu favor é como uma nuvem de chuva tardia.
In the light of the king’s countenance is life; and his favour is as a cloud of the latter rain.
16 Obter sabedoria é tão melhor do que o ouro! E obter sabedoria é mais excelente do que a prata.
How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! yea, to get understanding is rather to be chosen than silver.
17 A estrada dos corretos se afasta do mal; e guarda sua alma quem vigia seu caminho.
The highway of the upright is to depart from evil: he that keepeth his way preserveth his soul.
18 Antes da destruição vem a arrogância, e antes da queda vem a soberba de espírito.
Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
19 É melhor ser humilde de espírito com os mansos, do que repartir despojos com os arrogantes.
Better it is to be of a lowly spirit with the poor, than to divide the spoil with the proud.
20 Aquele que pensa prudentemente na palavra encontrará o bem; e quem confia no SENHOR é bem-aventurado.
He that giveth heed unto the word shall find good: and whoso trusteth in the LORD, happy is he.
21 O sábio de coração será chamado de prudente; e a doçura dos lábios aumentará a instrução.
The wise in heart shall be called prudent: and the sweetness of the lips increaseth learning.
22 Manancial de vida é o entendimento, para queles que o possuem; mas a instrução dos tolos é loucura.
Understanding is a wellspring of life unto him that hath it: but the correction of fools is [their] folly.
23 O coração do sábio dá prudência à sua boca; e sobre seus lábios aumentará a instrução.
The heart of the wise instructeth his mouth, and addeth learning to his lips.
24 Favo de mel são as palavras suaves: doces para a alma, e remédio para os ossos.
Pleasant words are [as] an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.
25 Há um caminho que parece direito ao homem, porém seu fim são caminhos de morte.
There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
26 A alma do trabalhador faz ele trabalhar para si, porque sua boca o obriga.
The appetite of the labouring man laboureth for him; for his mouth craveth it of him.
27 O homem maligno cava o mal, e em seus lábios [há] como que um fogo ardente.
A worthless man deviseth mischief: and in his lips there is as a scorching fire.
28 O homem perverso levanta contenda, e o difamador faz [até] grandes amigos se separarem.
A froward man scattereth abroad strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
29 O homem violento ilude a seu próximo, e o guia por um caminho que não é bom.
A man of violence enticeth his neighbour, and leadeth him in a way that is not good.
30 Ele fecha seus olhos para imaginar perversidades; ele aperta os lábios para praticar o mal.
He that shutteth his eyes, [it is] to devise froward things: he that compresseth his lips bringeth evil to pass.
31 Cabelos grisalhos são uma coroa de honra, [caso] se encontrem no caminho de justiça.
The hoary head is a crown of glory, it shall be found in the way of righteousness.
32 Melhor é o que demora para se irritar do que o valente; e [melhor é] aquele que domina seu espírito do que aquele que toma uma cidade.
He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.
33 A sorte é lançada no colo, mas toda decisão pertence ao SENHOR.
The lot is cast into the lap; but the whole disposing thereof is of the LORD.
