Números 5
1 E o SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
The Lord told Moses,
2 Manda aos filhos de Israel que expulsem do acampamento a todo leproso, e a todos os que sofrem de corrimento, e a todo contaminado sobre morto:
“Order the Israelites to expel from the camp anyone who has a skin disease, or who has a discharge, or who is unclean from touching a dead body.
3 Tanto homens como mulheres lançareis, fora do acampamento os expulsareis; para que não contaminem o acampamento daqueles entre os quais eu habito.
Whether male or female, you must expel them so they won't make their camp unclean, for that is where I live with them.”
4 E fizeram-no assim os filhos de Israel, que os lançaram fora do acampamento: como o SENHOR disse a Moisés, assim o fizeram os filhos de Israel.
The Israelites followed these instructions, and expelled such people from the camp. They did what the Lord had told Moses they should do.
5 Também falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
The Lord told Moses,
6 Fala aos filhos de Israel: O homem ou a mulher que cometer algum de todos os pecados dos homens, fazendo transgressão contra o SENHOR, e transgredir aquela pessoa;
“Tell the Israelites that when a man or woman is unfaithful to the Lord by sinning against someone else, they are guilty
7 Confessarão seu pecado que cometeram, e compensarão sua ofensa inteiramente, e acrescentarão seu quinto sobre ele, e o darão a aquele contra quem pecaram.
and must confess their sin. They have to pay the full amount of compensation plus one fifth of its value, and give this to the person they have wronged.
8 E se aquele homem não tiver parente ao qual seja ressarcida a ofensa, se dará a indenização da injustiça ao SENHOR, ao sacerdote, a mais do carneiro das expiações, com o qual fará expiação por ele.
However, if that person doesn't have a relative who can be paid the compensation, it belongs to the Lord and shall be given to the priest, together with a sacrificial ram by which the guilty person is set right.
9 E toda oferta de todas as coisas santas que os filhos de Israel apresentarem ao sacerdote, sua será.
All holy offerings that the Israelites bring to the priest belong to him.
10 E o santificado de qualquer um será seu: também o que qualquer um der ao sacerdote, seu será.
Your holy offerings belong to you, but once you give them to the priest they belong to him.”
11 E o SENHOR falou a Moisés, dizendo:
The Lord told Moses,
12 Fala aos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Quando a mulher de alguém se desviar, e fizer traição contra ele,
“Tell the Israelites that these are the instructions to follow if a man's wife has an affair, being unfaithful to him
13 Que alguém se houver deitado com ela em carnal ajuntamento, e seu marido não o houvesse visto por haver-se ela contaminado ocultamente, nem houver testemunha contra ela, nem ela houver sido pega no ato;
by sleeping with someone else. It may be that her husband doesn't find out and her unclean act wasn't witnessed—she wasn't caught out.
14 Se vier sobre ele espírito de ciúme, e tiver ciúme de sua mulher, havendo-se ela contaminado; ou vier sobre ele espírito de ciúme, e tiver ciúmes de sua mulher, não havendo ela se contaminado;
But if her husband becomes jealous and suspicious of his wife, whether she's guilty or not,
15 Então o marido trará sua mulher ao sacerdote, e trará sua oferta com ela, um décimo de um efa de farinha de cevada; não lançará sobre ela azeite, nem porá sobre ela incenso; porque é oferta de ciúme, oferta de recordação, que traz o pecado em memória.
he is to take her before the priest. He is also to take with him on her behalf an offering of one tenth of an ephath of barley flour. He must also bring for her an offering of an ephah of barley flour. He's not to pour olive oil over it or put frankincense on it, since it's a grain offering for jealousy, a reminder offering to remind people about sin.
16 E o sacerdote a fará aproximar, e a porá diante do SENHOR.
The priest is to lead the wife forward and have her stand before the Lord.
17 Logo tomará o sacerdote da água santa em um vaso de barro: tomará também o sacerdote do pó que houver no chão do tabernáculo, e o lançará na água.
Then he shall fill a clay jar with holy water in a clay jar and sprinkle on it some dust from the floor of the Tabernacle.
18 E fará o sacerdote estar em pé à mulher diante do SENHOR, e descobrirá a cabeça da mulher, e porá sobre suas mãos a oferta da recordação, que é a oferta de ciúme; e o sacerdote terá na mão as águas amargas que trazem maldição.
Once the priest has had the woman stand before the Lord, he shall let her hair loose and have her hold the reminder grain offering—the grain offering used in cases of jealousy. The priest shall hold the bitter water that curses.
19 E o sacerdote a fará jurar, e lhe dirá: Se ninguém houver dormido contigo, e se não te afastaste de teu marido à imundícia, livre sejas destas águas amargas que trazem maldição:
He shall place the woman under oath and tell her, ‘If no one else has slept with you and you have not been unfaithful and become unclean while married to your husband, may you not be harmed by this bitter water that curses.
20 Mas se te desviaste de teu marido, e te contaminaste, e alguém houver tido relação contigo, fora de teu marido:
But if you have been unfaithful while married to your husband and have become unclean and have had sex with someone else…”
21 (O sacerdote fará jurar à mulher com juramento de maldição, e dirá à mulher): O SENHOR te dê em maldição e em conspiração em meio de teu povo, fazendo o SENHOR a tua coxa que caia, e a teu ventre que se te inche;
(Here the priest shall place the woman under the oath of the curse as follows.) “May the Lord place a curse on you that everyone knows about by having your thighs shrink and your belly swell up.
22 E estas águas que dão maldição entrem em tuas entranhas, e façam inchar teu ventre, e cair tua coxa. E a mulher dirá: Amém, Amém.
May this water that curses go into your stomach and make your belly swell up and your thighs shrink.” The woman is to answer, “I agree, I agree.”
23 E o sacerdote escreverá estas maldições em um livro, e as apagará com as águas amargas:
The priest is to write these curses on a scroll and then wash them off into the bitter water.
24 E dará a beber à mulher as águas amargas que trazem maldição; e as águas que operam maldição entrarão nela por amargas.
He shall make the woman drink the bitter water that curses, and it will cause her bitter pain if she is guilty.
25 Depois tomará o sacerdote da mão da mulher a oferta de ciúme, e a moverá diante do SENHOR, e a oferecerá diante do altar;
The priest shall take back from her the grain offering for jealousy, wave it before the Lord, and take it to the altar.
26 e o sacerdote tomará um punhado da oferta em sua memória, e o queimará sobre o altar, e depois dará a beber as águas à mulher.
Then the priest shall take a handful of the grain offering as a reminder portion and burn it on the altar, and make the woman drink the water.
27 Dará a ela pois a beber as águas; e será, que se for imunda e houver feito traição contra seu marido, as águas que operam maldição entrarão nela em amargura, e seu ventre se inchará, e cairá sua coxa; e a mulher será por maldição em meio de seu povo.
After he has made her drink the water, if she has made herself unclean and has been unfaithful to her husband, then the water that curses will cause her bitter pain. Her belly will swell up and her thighs will shrink. She will become a cursed woman among her people.
28 Mas se a mulher não for imunda, mas sim que estiver limpa, ela será livre, e será fértil.
But if the woman has not made herself unclean by being unfaithful and is clean, she will not experience this punishment and she will still be able to have children.
29 Esta é a lei do ciúme, quando a mulher fizer traição a seu marido, e se contaminar;
This is the rule to follow in cases of jealousy when a wife has an affair and makes herself unclean while married to her husband,
30 Ou do marido, sobre o qual passar espírito de ciúme, e tiver ciúme de sua mulher: ele a apresentará então diante do SENHOR, e o sacerdote executará nela toda esta lei.
or when a husband starts feeling jealous and becomes suspicious of his wife. He shall have his wife stand before the Lord, and the priest is to carry out every part of this rule.
31 E aquele homem será livre de iniquidade, e a mulher levará seu pecado.
If she is found guilty, her husband will not be held responsible. But the woman will bear the consequences of her sin.
