Números 24

1 E quando viu Balaão que parecia bem ao SENHOR que o abençoasse a Israel, não foi, como a primeira e segunda vez, a encontro de agouros, mas sim que pôs seu rosto até o deserto;

And Balaam seeth that [it is] good in the eyes of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he hath not gone as time by time to meet enchantments, and he setteth towards the wilderness his face;

2 E levantando seus olhos, viu a Israel alojado por suas tribos; e o espírito de Deus veio sobre ele.

and Balaam lifteth up his eyes, and seeth Israel tabernacling, by its tribes, and the Spirit of God is upon him,

3 Então tomou sua parábola, e disse: Disse Balaão filho de Beor, E disse o homem de olhos abertos:

and he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'An affirmation of Balaam son of Beor — And an affirmation of the man whose eyes are shut —

4 Disse o que ouviu os ditos de Deus, O que viu a visão do Todo-Poderoso; caído, mas abertos os olhos:

An affirmation of him who is hearing sayings of God — Who a vision of the Almighty seeth, Falling — and eyes uncovered:

5 Quão belas são tuas tendas, ó Jacó, Tuas habitações, ó Israel!

How good have been thy tents, O Jacob, Thy tabernacles, O Israel;

6 Como ribeiros estão estendidas, Como jardins junto ao rio, Como aloés plantados pelo SENHOR, Como cedros junto às águas.

As valleys they have been stretched out, As gardens by a river; As aloes Jehovah hath planted, As cedars by waters;

7 De suas mãos destilarão águas, E sua descendência será em muitas águas: E se levantará seu rei mais que Agague, E seu reino será exaltado.

He maketh water flow from his buckets, And his seed [is] in many waters; And higher than Agag [is] his king, And exalted is his kingdom.

8 Deus o tirou do Egito; Tem forças como de boi selvagem: Comerá às nações suas inimigas, E esmiuçará seus ossos, E perfurará com suas flechas.

God is bringing him out of Egypt; As the swiftness of a Reem is to him, He eateth up nations his adversaries, And their bones he breaketh, And [with] his arrows he smiteth,

9 Se encurvará para deitar-se como leão, E como leoa; quem o despertará? Benditos os que te abençoarem, E malditos os que te amaldiçoarem.

He hath bent, he hath lain down as a lion, And as a lioness: who doth raise him up? He who is blessing thee [is] blessed, And he who is cursing thee [is] cursed.'

10 Então se acendeu a ira de Balaque contra Balaão, e batendo suas palmas lhe disse: Para amaldiçoar a meus inimigos te chamei, e eis que os abençoaste insistentemente já três vezes.

And the anger of Balak burneth against Balaam, and he striketh his hands; and Balak saith unto Balaam, 'To pierce mine enemies I called thee, and lo, thou hast certainly blessed — these three times;

11 Foge-te, portanto, agora a teu lugar: eu disse que te honraria, mas eis que o SENHOR te privou de honra.

and now, flee for thyself unto thy place; I have said, I do greatly honour thee, and lo, Jehovah hath kept thee back from honour.'

12 E Balaão lhe respondeu: Não o declarei eu também a teus mensageiros que me enviaste, dizendo:

And Balaam saith unto Balak, 'Did I not also unto thy messengers whom thou hast sent unto me, speak, saying,

13 Se Balaque me desse sua casa cheia de prata e ouro, eu não poderei transgredir o dito do SENHOR para fazer coisa boa nem má de minha vontade; mas o que o SENHOR falar, isso direi eu?

If Balak doth give to me the fulness of his house of silver and gold, I am not able to pass over the command of Jehovah, to do good or evil of mine own heart — that which Jehovah speaketh — it I speak?

14 Eis que eu me vou agora a meu povo: portanto, vem, te indicarei o que este povo há de fazer a teu povo nos últimos dias.

and, now, lo, I am going to my people; come, I counsel thee [concerning] that which this people doth to thy people, in the latter end of the days.'

15 E tomou sua parábola, e disse: Disse Balaão filho de Beor, Disse o homem de olhos abertos:

And he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'An affirmation of Balaam son of Beor — And an affirmation of the man whose eyes [are] shut —

16 Disse o que ouviu os ditos do SENHOR, E o que sabe o conhecimento do Altíssimo, o que viu a visão do Todo-Poderoso; caído, mas abertos os olhos:

An affirmation of him who is hearing sayings of God — And knowing knowledge of the Most High; A vision of the Almighty he seeth, Falling — and eyes uncovered:

17 Verei, mas não agora: O olharei, mas não de perto: Sairá estrela de Jacó, E se levantará cetro de Israel, E ferirá os cantos de Moabe, E destruirá a todos os filhos de Sete.

I see it, but not now; I behold it, but not near; A star hath proceeded from Jacob, And a sceptre hath risen from Israel, And hath smitten corners of Moab, And hath destroyed all sons of Sheth.

18 E será tomada Edom, Será também tomada Seir por seus inimigos, E Israel se portará corajosamente.

And Edom hath been a possession, And Seir hath been a possession, [for] its enemies, And Israel is doing valiantly;

19 E o de Jacó será dominador, E destruirá da cidade o que restar.

And [one] doth rule out of Jacob, And hath destroyed a remnant from Ar.'

20 E vendo a Amaleque, tomou sua parábola, e disse: Amaleque, cabeça de nações; Mas seu fim perecerá para sempre.

And he seeth Amalek, and taketh up his simile, and saith: 'A beginning of the Goyim [is] Amalek; And his latter end — for ever he perisheth.'

21 E vendo aos queneus, tomou sua parábola, e disse: Forte é tua habitação, Põe na rocha tua ninho:

And he seeth the Kenite, and taketh up his simile, and saith: 'Enduring [is] thy dwelling, And setting in a rock thy nest,

22 Que os queneus serão expulsos, Quando Assur te levará cativo.

But the Kenite is for a burning; Till when doth Asshur keep thee captive?'

23 Todavia tomou sua parábola, e disse: Ai! quem viverá quando fizer Deus estas coisas?

And he taketh up his simile, and saith: 'Alas! who doth live when God doth this?

24 E virão navios da costa de Quitim, E afligirão a Assur, afligirão também a Éber: Mas ele também perecerá para sempre.

And — ships [are] from the side of Chittim, And they have humbled Asshur, And they have humbled Eber, And it also for ever is perishing.'

25 Então se levantou Balaão, e se foi, e voltou-se a seu lugar: e também Balaque se foi por seu caminho.

And Balaam riseth, and goeth, and turneth back to his place, and Balak also hath gone on his way.
