Naum 3
1 Ai da cidade sanguinária, toda cheia de mentiras e de saques; o roubo não cessa.
Woe to the bloody city! it [is] all full of lies [and] robberies; the prey departeth not;
2 [Ali há] o som de açoite, e o estrondo do mover de rodas; os cavalos atropelam, e as carruagens vão se sacudindo.
The noise of a whip, and the noise of the rattling of the wheels, and of the prancing horses, and of the bounding chariots.
3 O cavaleiro ataca, a espada brilha, e a lança resplandece; e [ali haverá] muitos mortos, e multidão de cadáveres; haverá corpos sem fim, e tropeçarão nos corpos mortos.
The horseman lifteth up both the bright sword, and the glittering spear: and [there is] a multitude of slain, and a great number of carcasses; and [there is] no end of [their] corpses; they stumble upon their corpses:
4 Por causa da multidão das prostituições da prostituta muito charmosa, mestra de feitiçarias, que vende os povos com suas prostituições, e as famílias com suas feitiçarias.
Because of the multitude of the lewd deeds of the well-favored harlot, the mistress of witchcrafts, that selleth nations through her lewd deeds, and families through her witchcrafts.
5 Eis que estou contra ti, diz o SENHOR dos exércitos, e descobrirei tuas saias sobre tua face, e mostrarei tua nudez às nações, tua vergonha aos reinos.
Behold, I [am] against thee, saith the LORD of hosts; and I will remove thy skirts upon thy face, and I will show the nations thy nakedness, and the kingdoms thy shame.
6 E lançarei sobre ti coisas abomináveis, e te envergonharei, e te tornarei em ridículo público.
And I will cast abominable filth upon thee, and make thee vile, and will set thee as a gazing-stock.
7 E será que todos os que te virem fugirão de ti, e dirão: Nínive está destruída; quem terá compaixão dela? Onde buscarei para ti consoladores?
And it shall come to pass, [that] all they that look upon thee shall flee from thee, and say, Nineveh is laid waste: who will bemoan her; whence shall I seek comforters for thee?
8 És tu melhor que Nô-Amom, que estava situada entre os rios, cercada de águas, cuja fortificação era o mar, e o rio como muralha?
Art thou better than populous No, that was situated among the rivers, [that had] the waters around it, whose rampart [was] the sea, [and] her wall [was] from the sea?
9 Cuxe e Egito era sua fortaleza sem limites; Pute e Líbia estavam para tua ajuda.
Cush and Egypt [were] her strength, and [it was] infinite; Put and Lubim were thy helpers.
10 Porém ela foi levada em cativeiro; também suas crianças foram despedaçadas nas esquinas de todas as ruas; e sobre seus nobres lançaram sortes, e todos seus maiorais foram aprisionados com grilhões.
Yet [was] she carried away, she went into captivity: her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets: and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
11 Tu também estarás bêbada, [e] te esconderás; tu também buscarás fortaleza por causa do inimigo.
Thou also shalt be drunken: thou shalt be hid, thou also shalt seek strength because of the enemy.
12 Todas as tuas fortalezas são [como] figueiras com os primeiros figos, que ao serem sacudidas, caem na boca de quem quer comer.
All thy strong holds [shall be like] fig-trees with the first ripe figs: if they be shaken, they shall even fall into the mouth of the eater.
13 Eis que teu exército será como mulheres no meio de ti; as portas de tua terra se abrirão a teus inimigos; fogo consumirá teus ferrolhos.
Behold, thy people in the midst of thee [are] women: the gates of thy land shall be set wide open to thy enemies: the fire shall devour thy bars.
14 Reserva para ti água para o cerco, fortifica as tuas fortalezas; entra na lama, pisa o barro, conserta o forno.
Draw thee waters for the siege, fortify thy strong holds: go into clay, and tread the mortar, make strong the brick-kiln.
15 Ali o fogo te consumirá, a espada te cortará, te consumirá como o inseto devorador. Multiplica-te como o inseto devorador; multiplica-te como o gafanhoto.
There shall the fire devour thee; the sword shall cut thee off, it shall eat thee up like the canker-worm: make thyself many as the canker-worm, make thyself many as the locusts.
16 Multiplicaste teus mercadores mais que as estrelas do céu; o inseto devorador estende as asas, e sai voando.
Thou hast multiplied thy merchants above the stars of heaven: the canker-worm spoileth, and flieth away.
17 Teus oficiais são como gafanhotos, e teus capitães como enxames de gafanhotos que pousam em nas paredes nos dias de frio; quando o sol se levanta eles voam, de modo que não se pode saber seu lugar onde estiveram.
Thy crowned [are] as the locusts, and thy captains as the great grasshoppers, which settle in the hedges in the cold day, [but] when the sun ariseth they flee away, and their place is not known where they [are].
18 Teus pastores cochilam, ó rei da Assíria, teus nobres descansam; teu povo se espalhou pelos montes, e ninguém o ajuntará.
Thy shepherds slumber, O king of Assyria: thy nobles shall dwell [in the dust]: thy people are scattered upon the mountains, and no man gathereth [them].
19 Não há cura para tua ferida; tua chaga é fatal; todos os que ouviram tua fama baterão palmas por causa de ti, pois sobre quem tua maldade não passou continuamente?
[There is] no healing of thy bruise; thy wound is grievous: all that hear the fame of thee shall clap the hands over thee: for upon whom hath not thy wickedness passed continually?
