Mateus 6
1 Ficai atentos para que não façais vossa boa ação diante das pessoas a fim de que sejais vistos por elas; de outra maneira não tereis recompensa de vosso Pai que está nos céus.
Take heede that ye giue not your almes before men, to be seene of them, or els ye shall haue no reward of your Father which is in heaue.
2 Portanto, quando fizeres esmola, não faças tocar trombeta diante de ti, como fazem os hipócritas nas sinagogas e nas ruas, para serem honrados pelas pessoas; em verdade vos digo que já receberam sua recompensa.
Therefore when thou giuest thine almes, thou shalt not make a trumpet to be blowen before thee, as the hypocrites doe in the Synagogues and in the streetes, to be praysed of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.
3 Mas quando tu fizeres esmola, não saiba tua mão esquerda o que faz a tua direita;
But when thou doest thine almes, let not thy left hand knowe what thy right hand doeth,
4 Para que a tua esmola seja em segredo, e teu Pai, que vê em segredo, ele te recompensará.
That thine almes may be in secret, and thy Father that seeth in secret, hee will rewarde thee openly.
5 E quando orardes, não sejais como os hipócritas; porque eles amam orar em pé nas sinagogas e nas esquinas das ruas para serem vistos pelas pessoas. Em verdade vos digo que já receberam sua recompensa.
And when thou prayest, be not as the hypocrites: for they loue to stand, and pray in the Synagogues, and in the corners of the streetes, because they would be seene of men. Verely I say vnto you, they haue their rewarde.
6 Porém tu, quando orares, entra em teu quarto, fecha tua porta, e ora a teu Pai, que está em segredo; e teu Pai, que vê em segredo, ele te recompensará.
But when thou prayest, enter into thy chamber and when thou hast shut thy doore, pray vnto thy Father which is in secret, and thy Father which seeth in secret, shall rewarde thee openly.
7 E quando orardes, não façais repetições inúteis como os gentios, que pensam que por muito falarem serão ouvidos.
Also when ye pray, vse no vaine repetitions as the Heathen: for they thinke to be heard for their much babbling.
8 Não sejais, pois, semelhantes a eles; porque vosso Pai sabe o que necessitais, antes que vós peçais a ele.
Be ye not like them therefore: for your Father knoweth whereof ye haue neede, before ye aske of him.
9 Vós, portanto, orareis assim: Pai nosso, que estás nos céus, santificado seja o teu nome.
After this maner therefore pray ye, Our father which art in heauen, halowed be thy name.
10 Venha o teu Reino. Seja feita a tua vontade, tanto na terra, assim como no céu.
Thy Kingdome come. Thy will be done euen in earth, as it is in heauen.
11 O pão nosso de cada dia nos dá hoje.
Giue vs this day our dayly bread.
12 E perdoa-nos nossas dívidas, assim como nós também perdoamos aos nossos devedores.
And forgiue vs our dettes, as we also forgiue our detters.
13 E não nos conduzas à tentação, mas livra-nos do mal.
And leade vs not into tentation, but deliuer vs from euill: for thine is the kingdome, and the power, and the glorie for euer. Amen.
14 Porque se perdoardes às pessoas suas ofensas, vosso Pai celestial também vos perdoará;
For if ye doe forgiue men their trespasses, your heauenly Father will also forgiue you.
15 Mas se não perdoardes às pessoas, também vosso Pai não vos perdoará vossas ofensas.
But if ye do not forgiue men their trespasses, no more will your father forgiue you your trespaces.
16 E quando jejuardes, não vos mostreis tristonhos, como os hipócritas; porque eles desfiguram seus rostos, para parecerem aos outros que jejuam. Em verdade vos digo que eles já receberam sua recompensa.
Moreouer, when ye fast, looke not sowre as the hypocrites: for they disfigure their faces, that they might seeme vnto men to fast. Verely I say vnto you, that they haue their rewarde.
17 Porém tu, quando jejuares, unge a tua cabeça e lava o teu rosto,
But when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face,
18 Para não pareceres às pessoas que jejuas, mas sim ao teu Pai, que está em segredo; e teu Pai, que vê em segredo, ele te recompensará.
That thou seeme not vnto men to fast, but vnto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret, will rewarde thee openly.
19 Não ajunteis para vós tesouros na terra, onde e a traça e a ferrugem gastam, e onde os ladrões invadem e roubam;
Lay not vp treasures for your selues vpon the earth, where the mothe and canker corrupt, and where theeues digge through and steale.
20 Mas ajuntai para vós tesouros no céu, onde nem a traça nem a ferrugem gastam, e onde os ladrões não invadem nem roubam.
But lay vp treasures for your selues in heauen, where neither the mothe nor canker corrupteth, and where theeues neither digge through, nor steale.
21 Porque onde estiver o teu tesouro, ali estará também o teu coração.
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
22 A lâmpada do corpo é o olho; portanto, se o teu olho for puro, todo o teu corpo será cheio de luz.
The light of the body is the eye: if then thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be light.
23 Porém se o teu olho for maligno, todo o teu corpo será cheio de trevas. Assim, se a luz que há em ti são trevas, como são grandes [essas] trevas!
But if thine eye be wicked, then all thy body shalbe darke. Wherefore if the light that is in thee, be darkenes, howe great is that darkenesse?
24 Ninguém pode servir a dois senhores; pois ou odiará um e amará outro; ou se apegará a um, e desprezará o outro. Não podeis servir a Deus e às riquezas.
No man can serue two masters: for eyther he shall hate the one, and loue the other, or els he shall leane to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serue God and riches.
25 Por isso vos digo: não andeis ansiosos por vossa vida, sobre o que haveis de comer, ou que haveis de beber; nem por vosso corpo, sobre com que vos haveis de vestir. Não é a vida mais que o alimento, e o corpo [mais] que a roupa?
Therefore I say vnto you, be not carefull for your life, what ye shall eate, or what ye shall drinke: nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more worth then meate? and the bodie then raiment?
26 Olhai para as aves do céu, que não semeiam, nem ceifam, nem ajuntam em celeiros; e contudo vosso Pai celestial as alimenta. Não sois vós muito mais importantes que elas?
Behold the foules of the heauen: for they sowe not, neither reape, nor carie into the barnes: yet your heauenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better then they?
27 E qual de vós poderá, por sua ansiedade, acrescentar um côvado à sua estatura?
Which of you by taking care is able to adde one cubite vnto his stature?
28 E por que andais ansiosos pela roupa? Prestai atenção aos lírios do campo, como crescem; eles nem trabalham nem fiam.
And why care ye for raiment? Learne howe the lilies of the fielde doe growe: they are not wearied, neither spinne:
29 Mas eu vos digo que nem mesmo Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu como um deles.
Yet I say vnto you, that euen Salomon in all his glorie was not arayed like one of these.
30 Se Deus veste desta maneira a erva do campo, que hoje existe, e amanhã é lançada no forno, não [vestirá] ele muito mais a vós, que tendes pouca fé?
Wherefore if God so clothe the grasse of the fielde which is to day, and to morowe is cast into the ouen, shall he not doe much more vnto you, O ye of litle faith?
31 Não andeis, pois, ansiosos, dizendo: “Que comeremos?” Ou “Que beberemos?” Ou “Com que nos vestiremos?”
Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eate? or what shall we drinke? or where with shall we be clothed?
32 Porque os gentios buscam todas estas coisas, e vosso Pai celestial sabe que necessitais destas coisas, todas elas.
(For after all these things seeke the Gentiles) for your heauenly Father knoweth, that ye haue neede of all these things.
33 Mas buscai primeiramente o [seu] Reino e a sua justiça, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.
But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shall be ministred vnto you.
34 Não andeis, pois, ansiosos pelo dia de amanhã, porque o amanhã cuidará de si mesmo. Basta a cada dia o seu mal.
Care not then for the morowe: for the morowe shall care for it selfe: the day hath ynough with his owne griefe.
