Mateus 21
1 E quando se aproximaram de Jerusalém, e chegaram a Betfagé, ao monte das Oliveiras, então Jesus mandou dois discípulos, dizendo-lhes:
And when they drew nigh to Jerusalem and were come to Bethphage at the mount of Olives, Jesus sent two of his disciples,
2 Ide à aldeia em vossa frente, e logo achareis uma jumenta amarrada, e um jumentinho com ela; desamarra-a, e trazei-os a mim.
saying unto them, Go into the village over-against you, and ye will find directly an ass tied and a colt with her: loose them and bring them to me:
3 E se alguém vos disser algo, direis: “O Senhor precisa deles, mas logo os devolverá”.
and if any one say any thing to you, tell him the Lord hath need of them, and he will immediately send them.
4 Ora, isto aconteceu para que se cumprisse o que foi dito pelo profeta, que disse:
Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet saying, Tell ye the daughter of Sion,
5 Dizei à filha de Sião: “Eis que o teu rei vem a ti, manso, e sentado sobre um jumento; um jumentinho, filho de uma animal de carga”.
behold, thy king cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, even a colt the fole of an ass.
6 Os discípulos foram, e fizeram como Jesus havia lhes mandado;
And the disciples went, and did as Jesus ordered them,
7 Então trouxeram a jumenta e o jumentinho, puseram as capas sobre eles, e ele montou sobre elas.
and brought the ass and the colt, and threw their clothes over them, and set Him upon them.
8 E uma grande multidão estendia suas roupas pelo caminho, e outros cortavam ramos das árvores, e os espalhavam pelo caminho.
And great numbers spread their garments in the way, and others cut off boughs from the trees, and strewed them in the way:
9 E as multidões que iam adiante dele, e as que seguiam, clamavam: Hosana ao Filho de Davi! Bendito o que vem no nome do Senhor! Hosana nas alturas!
and the multitudes, that went before and that followed, cried saying, Hosanna to the Son of David: blessed be He that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
10 Enquanto ele entrava em Jerusalém, toda a cidade se alvoroçou, perguntando: Quem é este?
And when He came into Jerusalem, all the city was in a commotion, saying, Who is this?
11 E as multidões respondiam: Este é o Profeta Jesus, de Nazaré de Galileia.
And the people answered, This is Jesus the prophet, from Nazareth in Galilee.
12 Jesus entrou no Templo; então expulsou todos os que estavam vendendo e comprando no Templo, e virou as mesas dos cambistas e as cadeiras dos que vendiam pombas.
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and drove out all that were selling and buying in the court of the temple, and threw down the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves:
13 E disse-lhes: Está escrito: “Minha casa será chamada casa de oração”; mas vós a tornais em covil de ladrões!
and said to them, It is written, "My house shall be called the house of prayer," but ye have made it a den of thieves.
14 E cegos e mancos vieram a ele no Templo, e ele os curou.
And there came to Him in the temple both blind and lame, and He healed them:
15 Quando os chefes dos sacerdotes e os escribas viram as maravilhas que ele fazia, e as crianças gritando no Templo: “Hosana ao Filho de Davi!”, eles ficaram indignados.
but when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonders that He wrought, and the children crying out in the temple, Hosanna to the Son of David, they were vexed to the heart, and said to Him, Dost thou hear what these say?
16 E perguntaram-lhe: Ouves o que estas [crianças] dizem? E Jesus lhes respondeu: Sim. Nunca lestes: “Da boca das crianças e dos bebês providenciaste o louvor?”
And Jesus saith unto them, Yes, have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast procured praise?
17 Então ele os deixou, e saiu da cidade para Betânia, e ali passou a noite.
And He left them and went out of the city to Bethany and lodged there.
18 E pela manhã, enquanto voltava para a cidade, teve fome.
Now in the morning as He was returning to the city, He was hungry;
19 Quando ele viu uma figueira perto do caminho, veio a ela, mas nada nela achou, a não ser somente folhas. E disse-lhe: Nunca de ti nasça fruto, jamais! E imediatamente a figueira se secou. (aiōn g165)
and seeing a fig-tree by the way, He went up to it, and finding nothing upon it but leaves, He saith to it, Let no fruit ever hereafter grow out of thee: and the fig-tree withered immediately. (aiōn g165)
20 Os discípulos viram, e ficaram maravilhados, dizendo: Como a figueira se secou de imediato?
And the disciples seeing it were amazed and said, How suddenly is the fig-tree withered!
21 Porém Jesus lhes respondeu: Em verdade vos digo: se tiverdes fé, e não duvidardes, vós não somente fareis isto à figueira, mas até se disserdes a este monte: “Levanta-te, e lança-te no mar”, isso se fará.
but Jesus answering said unto them, Verily I tell you, if ye have faith and doubt not, ye shall not only be able to do this to a fig-tree, but also if ye shall say to this mountain, "Be thou removed and cast into the sea," it shall be done.
22 E tudo o que pedirdes em oração, crendo, recebereis.
And all things whatsoever ye ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
23 Depois de entrar no templo, quando ele estava ensinando, os chefes dos sacerdotes e os anciãos do povo se aproximaram dele, perguntando: Com que autoridade fazes isto? E quem te deu esta autoridade?
And when He was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to Him as He was teaching, and said, By what authority dost thou these things, and who gave thee this authority?
24 Jesus lhes respondeu: Eu também vos farei uma pergunta. Se vós a responderdes a mim, também eu vos responderei com que autoridade faço isto.
but Jesus answered them, I also will ask you one question, which if ye tell me, I will likewise tell you by what authority I do these things.
25 De onde era o batismo de João? Do céu, ou dos seres humanos? E eles pensaram entre si mesmos, dizendo: Se dissermos: “Do céu”, ele nos dirá: “Por que, então, não crestes nele?
The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves saying, If we say, from heaven, He will reply, Why then did ye not believe him?
26 Mas se dissermos: “Dos seres humanos”, temos medo da multidão, pois todos consideram João como profeta.
But if we say, of men, we fear the people, for they all esteem John as a prophet.
27 Então responderam a Jesus: Não sabemos. E ele lhes disse: Nem eu vos digo com que autoridade faço isto.
And therefore in answer to Jesus, they said, We do not know: and He said unto them, Neither do I tell you, by what authority I do these things.
28 Mas que vos parece? Um homem tinha dois filhos. Aproximando-se do primeiro, disse: “Filho, vai hoje trabalhar na minha vinha.”
But what think ye of this? There was a man had two sons, and he came to the first and said, Son, go, work to day in my vineyard:
29 Porém ele respondeu: “Eu [vou], senhor”, mas não foi.
and he answered I will not; but afterwards repenting, he went.
30 E, aproximando-se do segundo, disse da mesma maneira. E ele respondeu: “Não quero”; mas depois se arrependeu, e foi.
And coming to the second, he spake in like manner: and he answered, Yes, Sir; and went not.
31 Qual dos dois fez a vontade do pai? Eles lhe responderam: O segundo. Jesus lhes disse: Em verdade vos digo que os publicanos e as prostitutas estão indo adiante de vós ao Reino de Deus.
Now which of the two did the will of his father? They say unto Him, The first. Jesus replied, Verily I say unto you, that publicans and prostitutes enter into the kingdom of God before you:
32 Pois João veio a vós mesmos no caminho de justiça, mas não crestes nele; enquanto que os publicanos e as prostitutas nele creram. Vós, porém, mesmo tendo visto [isto], nem assim vos arrependestes, a fim de nele crer.
for John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye did not believe him; but publicans and harlots believed him; and though ye saw that, ye did not repent afterwards, to believe him.
33 Ouvi outra parábola. Havia um homem, dono de uma propriedade. Ele plantou uma vinha, cercou-a, fundou nela uma prensa de uvas, e construiu uma torre. Depois a arrendou a uns lavradores, e partiu-se para um lugar distante.
Hear another parable, There was a certain man, a master of a family, that planted a vineyard, and made a fence about it, and put a wine-press in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and travelled abroad.
34 Quando chegou o tempo dos frutos, enviou seus servos aos lavradores, para receberem os frutos que a ele pertenciam.
And when the fruit-season drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, to receive the fruits of it:
35 Mas os lavradores tomaram os seus servos, e feriram um, mataram outro, e apedrejaram outro.
and the husbandmen took his servants and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
36 Outra vez enviou outros servos, em maior número que os primeiros, mas fizeram-lhes o mesmo.
And he sent again other servants more than the first: and they did the like to them.
37 E por último lhes enviou o seu filho, dizendo: “Respeitarão ao meu filho”.
At last he sent unto them his Son, saying, They will reverence my Son.
38 Mas quando os lavradores viram o filho, disseram entre si: “Este é o herdeiro. Venhamos matá-lo, e tomemos a sua herança”.
But when the husbandmen saw the Son, they said among themselves, This is the heir, come, let us kill him, and seize on his inheritance:
39 Então o agarraram, lançaram-no para fora da vinha, e o mataram.
so they took him and cast him out of the vineyard and slew him.
40 Ora, quando o senhor da vinha chegar, o que fará com aqueles lavradores?
When therefore the lord of the vineyard cometh, what will he do to those husbandmen?
41 Eles lhe responderam: Aos maus dará uma morte má, e arrendará a vinha a outros lavradores, que lhe deem os frutos em seus tempos [de colheita].
They answer, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out the vineyard to other husbandmen, who will render him the fruits in their seasons.
42 Jesus lhes disse: Nunca lestes nas Escrituras: “A pedra que os construtores rejeitaram, essa se tornou cabeça da esquina. Isto foi feito pelo Senhor, e é maravilhoso aos nossos olhos”?
Then saith Jesus to them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, "The stone which the builders refused, is made the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?"
43 Portanto eu vos digo que o reino de Deus será tirado de vós, e será dado a um povo que produza os frutos dele.
Therefore I tell you, that the kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation, that will bring forth the fruits thereof.
44 E quem cair sobre esta pedra será quebrado; mas sobre quem ela cair, ela o tornará em pó.
And he that stumbleth at this stone shall be bruised, but on whomsoever it falls, it will crush him to pieces.
45 Quando os chefes dos sacerdotes e os fariseus ouviram estas suas parábolas, entenderam que [Jesus] estava falando deles.
And when the chief priests and pharisees heard his parables, they perceived that He spake of them:
46 E procuravam prendê-lo, mas temeram as multidões, pois elas o consideravam profeta.
and would have seized Him, but that they were afraid of the people; because they took Him for a prophet.
