Levítico 19
1 E falou o SENHOR a Moisés, dizendo:
The Lord told Moses,
2 Fala a toda a congregação dos filhos de Israel, e dize-lhes: Santos sereis, porque santo sou eu o SENHOR vosso Deus.
“Tell all the Israelites: You must be holy because I am holy; I am the Lord your God.
3 Cada um temerá a sua mãe e a seu pai, e meus sábados guardareis: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
Show respect for your mother and father, and keep my Sabbaths. I am the Lord your God.
4 Não vos voltareis aos ídolos, nem fareis para vós deuses de fundição: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
Don't turn to idols for help or make for metal images of gods. I am the Lord your God.
5 E quando sacrificardes sacrifício pacífico ao SENHOR, de vossa vontade o sacrificareis.
When you sacrifice a peace offering to the Lord, make sure you do it correctly so God will accept you.
6 Será comido o dia que o sacrificardes, e o dia seguinte: e o que restar para o terceiro dia, será queimado no fogo.
It needs to be eaten the day you sacrifice it, or the next day. Whatever is left over on the third day must be burned.
7 E se se comer no dia terceiro, será abominação; não será aceito:
If you do eat some of it on the third day, the sacrifice becomes repulsive and won't be accepted.
8 E o que o comer, levará seu delito, porquanto profanou o santo do SENHOR; e a tal pessoa será eliminada de seus povos.
Anyone who eats it eats it will bear responsibility for their guilt, for they have made unclean what is holy to the Lord. They must be expelled from their people.
9 Quando ceifardes na colheita de vossa terra, não acabarás de ceifar o canto de tua plantação, nem espigarás tua terra ceifada.
When you harvest the crops grown on your land, don't harvest right up to the edges of your field, or collect what has been missed.
10 E não coletarás os restos de tua vinha, nem recolherás as uvas caídas de tua vinha; para o pobre e para o estrangeiro os deixarás: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
Don't take every last grape from your vineyard or pick up the ones that have fallen. Leave them for the poor people and foreigners. I am the Lord your God.
11 Não furtareis, e não enganareis, nem mentireis ninguém a seu próximo.
Don't steal. Don't lie. Don't deceive each other.
12 E não jurareis em meu nome com mentira, nem profanarás o nome de teu Deus: Eu sou o SENHOR.
Don't swear oaths in my name that are not true, otherwise you defame the character of your God. I am the Lord.
13 Não oprimirás a teu próximo, nem lhe roubarás. Não se deterá o trabalho do assalariado em tua casa até a manhã.
Don't cheat others or rob them. Don't refuse to pay wages due to workers until the morning.
14 Não amaldiçoes ao surdo, e diante do cego não ponhas tropeço, mas terás temor de teu Deus: Eu sou o SENHOR.
Don't speak badly about deaf people. Don't put objects in the way of blind people to trip them up. Instead show respect to your God. I am the Lord.
15 Não farás injustiça no juízo: não favorecerás deslealmente ao pobre, nem honrarás a face do poderoso: com justiça julgarás a teu próximo.
Don't be a corrupt judge. Don't show favoritism to the poor or to the rich. Judge others fairly.
16 Não andarás propagando boatos em teus povos. Não te porás contra o sangue de teu próximo: Eu sou o SENHOR.
Don't go around spreading false rumors about people. Don't keep quiet when the lives of others are at risk. I am the Lord.
17 Não aborrecerás a teu irmão em teu coração: francamente repreenderás a teu próximo, e não consentirás sobre ele pecado.
Don't hold onto hateful feelings towards others. Talk honestly with your neighbors, so that you don't sin because of them.
18 Não te vingarás, nem guardarás rancor aos filhos de teu povo: mas amarás a teu próximo como a ti mesmo: Eu sou o SENHOR.
Don't look for revenge or hold a grudge against anybody, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord.
19 Meus estatutos guardareis. A teu animal não farás ajuntar para espécies misturadas; tua plantação não semearás com mistura de sementes, e não te porás roupas com mistura de diversos materiais.
Do what I tell you! Don't make different kinds of livestock breed together. Don't sow your fields with two different kinds of seed. Don't wear clothes made of two different kinds of material.
20 E quando um homem tiver relação sexual com mulher, e ela for serva desposada com alguém, e não estiver resgatada, nem lhe houver sido dada liberdade, ambos serão açoitados: não morrerão, porquanto ela não é livre.
If a man has sex with a servant girl promised to become another man's wife, but who hasn't yet been bought or set free, then compensation has to be paid. However, they are not to be killed, because she hadn't been set free.
21 E ele trará ao SENHOR, à porta do tabernáculo do testemunho, um carneiro em expiação por sua culpa.
But the man must bring a ram as his guilt offering to the Lord at the entrance of the Tent of Meeting.
22 E com o carneiro da expiação o reconciliará o sacerdote diante do SENHOR, por seu pecado que cometeu: e se lhe perdoará seu pecado que cometeu.
The priest will set things right for him before the Lord using the ram of the guilt offering for the sin he has committed, and his sin will be forgiven.
23 E quando houverdes entrado na terra, e plantardes toda árvore de comer, tirareis seu prepúcio, o primeiro de seu fruto: três anos vos será incircunciso: seu fruto não se comerá.
When you enter the land and plant any kind of fruit tree, treat the fruit at first as unclean. For three years you are forbidden to eat it.
24 E o quarto ano todo seu fruto será santidade de louvores ao SENHOR.
The fourth year all the fruit must be dedicated to the Lord as a praise offering.
25 Mas ao quinto ano comereis o fruto dele, para que vos faça crescer seu fruto: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
However, the fifth year you may eat the fruit and in this way you will have an even greater harvest. I am the Lord your God.
26 Não comereis coisa alguma com sangue. Não sereis encantadores, nem fareis adivinhações.
Don't eat meat with blood in it. Don't use fortune-telling or witchcraft.
27 Não cortareis em redondo as extremidades de vossas cabeças, nem danificarás a ponta de tua barba.
Don't cut your hair on the sides of your head or trim the sides of your beard,
28 E não fareis cortes em vossa carne por um morto, nem imprimireis em vós sinal alguma: Eu sou o SENHOR.
don't cut your bodies in some pagan ritual for the dead, and don't get yourselves tattoos. I am the Lord.
29 Não contaminarás tua filha fazendo-a se prostituir: para não se prostitua a terra, e se encha de maldade.
Don't bring shame on your daughter by making her a prostitute, otherwise the land will become morally and spiritually depraved.
30 Meus sábados guardareis, e meu santuário tereis em reverência: Eu sou o SENHOR.
Keep my Sabbaths and show respect for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
31 Não vos volteis aos encantadores e aos adivinhos: não os consulteis contaminando-vos com eles: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
Don't try and find help from mediums or spiritists—don't even go looking for them, otherwise they will corrupt you. I am the Lord your God.
32 Diante das cãs te levantarás, e honrarás o rosto do ancião, e de teu Deus terás temor: Eu sou o SENHOR.
Stand up and be respectful of older people. Show reverence for your God. I am the Lord.
33 E quando o estrangeiro morar contigo em vossa terra, não o oprimireis.
Don't mistreat foreigners who live in your country.
34 Como a um natural de vós tereis ao estrangeiro que peregrinar entre vós; e ama-o como a ti mesmo; porque peregrinos fostes na terra do Egito: Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus.
Treat them in the same way as a fellow citizen, and love them as you love yourself, because you were once foreigners living in Egypt. I am the Lord your God.
35 Não façais injustiça no juízo, na medida da terra, nem no peso, nem em outra medida.
Don't use dishonest weights and measures.
36 Balanças justas, pesos justos, efa justo, e him justo tereis. Eu sou o SENHOR vosso Deus, que vos tirei da terra do Egito.
Make sure your scales and weights are accurate, that your measures of ephah and hin are correct. I am the Lord your God who led you out of Egypt.
37 Guardai, pois, todos os meus estatutos, e todos os meus regulamentos, e os praticai. Eu sou o SENHOR.
Keep all my rules and regulations, and make sure you follow them. I am the Lord.”
