Lamentações de Jeremias 3
1 Eu sou o homem que viu a aflição pela vara de seu furor.
[ALEPH-BET] I [am] the man [who] has seen affliction By the rod of His wrath.
2 Guiou-me e levou-me a trevas, e não à luz.
He has led me, and causes to go [in] darkness, and without light.
3 Com certeza se virou contra mim, revirou sua mão o dia todo.
Surely against me He turns back, He turns His hand all the day.
4 Fez envelhecer minha carne e minha pele, quebrou meus ossos.
He has worn out my flesh and my skin. He has broken my bones.
5 Edificou contra mim, e cercou [-me] de fel e de trabalho.
He has built up against me, And sets around poverty and weariness.
6 Fez-me habitar em lugares escuros, como os que já morrera há muito tempo.
In dark places He has caused me to dwell, As the dead of old.
7 Cercou-me por todos lados, e não posso sair; tornou pesados os meus grilhões.
He has hedged me in, and I do not go out, He has made heavy my chain.
8 Até quando clamo e dou vozes, fechou [os ouvidos] à minha oração.
Also when I call and cry out, He has shut out my prayer.
9 Cercou meus caminhos com pedras lavradas, retorceu as minhas veredas.
He has hedged my ways with hewn work, My paths He has made crooked.
10 Foi para mim como um urso que espia, como um leão escondido.
A bear lying in wait He [is] to me, A lion in secret hiding places.
11 Desviou meus caminhos, e fez-me em pedaços; deixou-me desolado.
My ways He is turning aside, and He pulls me in pieces, He has made me a desolation.
12 Armou seu arco, e me pôs como alvo para a flecha.
He has bent His bow, And sets me up as a mark for an arrow.
13 Fez entrar em meus rins as flechas de sua aljava.
He has caused to enter into my reins The sons of His quiver.
14 Servi de escárnio a todo o meu povo, de canção ridícula deles o dia todo.
I have been a derision to all my people, Their song all the day.
15 Fartou-me de amarguras, embebedou-me de absinto.
He has filled me with bitter things, He has filled me [with] wormwood.
16 Quebrou os meus dentes com cascalho, cobriu-me de cinzas.
And He breaks with gravel my teeth, He has covered me with ashes.
17 E afastou minha alma da paz, fez-me esquecer da boa vida.
And You cast off my soul from peace, I have forgotten prosperity.
18 Então eu disse: Pereceram minha força e minha esperança no SENHOR.
And I say, My strength and my hope have perished from YHWH.
19 Lembra-te da minha aflição e do meu sofrimento, do absinto e do fel.
Remember my affliction and my mourning, Wormwood and gall!
20 Minha alma se lembra e se abate em mim.
Remember well, and my soul bows down in me.
21 Disto me recordarei na minha mente, por isso terei esperança:
This I turn to my heart—therefore I hope.
22 É pelas bondades do SENHOR que não somos consumidos, porque suas misericórdias não têm fim.
The kindnesses of YHWH! For we have not been consumed, For His mercies have not ended.
23 Elas são novas a cada manhã; grande é a tua fidelidade.
New every morning, abundant [is] Your faithfulness.
24 O SENHOR é minha porção, diz a minha alma; portanto nele esperarei.
My portion [is] YHWH, my soul has said, Therefore I hope for Him.
25 Bom é o SENHOR para os que nele esperam, para a alma que o busca.
YHWH [is] good to those waiting for Him, To the soul [that] seeks Him.
26 É bom esperar e tranquilo aguardar a salvação do SENHOR.
[It is] good when one stays and stands still For the salvation of YHWH.
27 É bom ao homem levar o jugo em sua juventude.
[It is] good for a man that he bears a yoke in his youth.
28 Sente-se só, e fique quieto; pois ele o pôs sobre si.
He sits alone, and is silent, For He has laid [it] on him.
29 Ponha sua boca no pó; talvez haja esperança.
He puts his mouth in the dust, if so be, there is hope.
30 Dê a face ao que o ferir; farte-se de insultos.
He gives to his striker the cheek, He is filled with reproach.
31 Pois o Senhor não rejeitará para sempre:
For the Lord does not cast off for all time.
32 Mesmo que cause aflição, ele também se compadecerá segundo a grandeza de suas misericórdias.
For though He afflicted, yet He has pitied, According to the abundance of His kindness.
33 Pois não é sua vontade afligir nem entristecer os filhos dos homens.
For He has not afflicted with His heart, Nor does He grieve the sons of men.
34 Esmagar debaixo de seus pés a todos os prisioneiros da terra,
To bruise under one’s feet any bound ones of earth,
35 Perverter o direito do homem diante da presença do Altíssimo,
To turn aside the judgment of a man, Before the face of the Most High,
36 Prejudicar ao homem em sua causa: o Senhor não aprova ) [tais coisas].
To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord has not approved.
37 Quem é que pode fazer suceder [algo] que diz, se o Senhor não tiver mandado?
Who [is] this—he has spoken, and it is, [And] the Lord has not commanded [it]?
38 Por acaso da boca do Altíssimo não sai tanto a maldição como a bênção?
From the mouth of the Most High does not go forth the evils and the good.
39 Por que o homem vivente se queixa da punição de seus próprios pecados?
Why does a living man sigh habitually, A man for his sin?
40 Examinemos nossos caminhos, investiguemos, e nos voltemos ao SENHOR.
We search our ways, and investigate, And turn back to YHWH.
41 Levantemos nossos corações e as mãos a Deus nos céus,
We lift up our heart on the hands to God in the heavens.
42 [Dizendo: ] Nós transgredimos e fomos rebeldes; tu não perdoaste.
We have transgressed and been rebellious, You have not forgiven.
43 Cobriste-te de ira, e nos perseguiste; mataste sem teres compaixão.
You have covered Yourself with anger, And pursue us; You have slain—You have not pitied.
44 Cobriste-te de nuvens, para que [nossa] oração não passasse.
You have covered Yourself with a cloud, So that prayer does not pass through.
45 Tu nos tornaste como escória e rejeito no meio dos povos.
Outcast and refuse You make us In the midst of the peoples.
46 Todos os nossos inimigos abriram sua boca contra nós.
Opened against us their mouth have all our enemies.
47 Medo e cova vieram sobre nós, devastação e destruição.
Fear and a snare has been for us, Desolation and destruction.
48 Rios de águas correm de meus olhos, por causa da destruição da filha de meu povo.
Streams of water go down my eye, For the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 Meus olhos destilam, e não cessam; não haverá descanso,
My eye is poured out, And does not cease without intermission,
50 Até que o SENHOR preste atenção, e veja desde os céus.
Until YHWH looks and sees from the heavens,
51 Meus olhos afligem minha alma, por causa de todas as filhas de minha cidade.
My eye affects my soul, Because of all the daughters of my city.
52 Sem motivo meus inimigos me caçam como a um passarinho.
Hunting—my enemies have hunted me without cause like the bird.
53 Tentaram tirar minha vida na masmorra, e lançaram pedras sobre mim.
They have cut off my life in a pit, And they cast a stone against me.
54 As águas inundaram sobre minha cabeça; eu disse: É o meu fim.
Waters have flowed over my head, I have said, I have been cut off.
55 Invoquei o teu nome, SENHOR, desde a cova profunda.
I called Your Name, O YHWH, from the lower pit.
56 Ouviste minha voz: não escondas o teu ouvido ao meu suspiro, ao meu clamor.
You have heard my voice, do not hide Your ear at my breathing—at my cry.
57 Tu te achegaste no dia em que te invoquei; disseste: Não temas.
You have drawn near in the day I call You, You have said, Do not fear.
58 Defendeste, Senhor, as causas de minha alma; redimiste minha vida.
You have pleaded, O Lord, the pleadings of my soul, You have redeemed my life.
59 Viste, SENHOR, a maldade que me fizeram; julga minha causa.
You have seen, O YHWH, my overthrow, Judge my cause.
60 Viste toda a vingança deles, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim.
You have seen all their vengeance, All their thoughts of me.
61 Ouvido os seus insultos, ó SENHOR, todos os seus pensamentos contra mim;
You have heard their reproach, O YHWH, All their thoughts against me,
62 As coisas ditas pelos que se levantam contra mim, e seu planos contra mim o dia todo.
The lips of my withstanders, Even their meditation against me all the day.
63 Olha para tudo quanto eles fazem; com canções zombam de mim.
Their sitting down, and their rising up, Behold attentively, I [am] their song.
64 Retribui-lhes, SENHOR, conforme a obra de suas mãos.
You return to them the deed, O YHWH, According to the work of their hands.
65 Dá-lhes angústia de coração, tua maldição a eles.
You give to them a covered heart, Your curse to them.
66 Persegue-os com ira, e destrua-os de debaixo dos céus do SENHOR.
You pursue in anger, and destroy them, From under the heavens of YHWH!
