Juízes 1
1 E aconteceu depois da morte de Josué, que os filhos de Israel consultaram ao SENHOR, dizendo: Quem subirá por nós primeiro para lutar contra os cananeus?
It happened after the death of Joshua, the children of Israel asked of the LORD, saying, "Who should go up first to fight for us against the Canaanites?"
2 E o SENHOR respondeu: Judá subirá; eis que eu entreguei a terra em suas mãos.
The LORD said, "Judah should go up. Look, I have delivered the land into his hand."
3 E Judá disse a Simeão seu irmão: Sobe comigo à minha porção, e lutemos contra os cananeus, e eu também irei contigo à tua porção. E Simeão foi com ele.
Judah said to Simeon his brother, "Come up with me into my lot, that we may fight against the Canaanites; and I likewise will go with you into your lot." So Simeon went with him.
4 E subiu Judá, e o SENHOR entregou em suas mãos aos cananeus e aos perizeus; e deles feriram em Bezeque dez mil homens.
Judah went up; and the LORD delivered the Canaanites and the Perizzites into their hand: and they struck of them in Bezek ten thousand men.
5 E acharam a Adoni-Bezeque em Bezeque, e lutaram contra ele: e feriram aos cananeus e aos perizeus.
They found Adoni-Bezek in Bezek; and they fought against him, and they struck the Canaanites and the Perizzites.
6 Mas Adoni-Bezeque fugiu; e seguiram-no, e prenderam-no, e cortaram-lhe os polegares das mãos e dos pés.
But Adoni-Bezek fled; and they pursued after him, and caught him, and cut off his thumbs and his great toes.
7 Então disse Adoni-Bezeque: Setenta reis, cortados os polegares de suas mãos e de seus pés, colhiam as migalhas debaixo de minha mesa: como eu fiz, assim Deus me pagou. E meteram-no em Jerusalém, de onde morreu.
Adoni-Bezek said, "Seventy kings, having their thumbs and their great toes cut off, scavenged under my table: as I have done, so God has requited me." They brought him to Jerusalem, and he died there.
8 E combateram os filhos de Judá a Jerusalém, e a tomaram, e puseram à espada, e puseram a fogo a cidade.
The people of Judah fought against Jerusalem, and took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, and set the city on fire.
9 Depois os filhos de Judá desceram para lutar contra os cananeus que habitavam nas montanhas, e ao sul, e nas planícies.
Afterward the people of Judah went down to fight against the Canaanites who lived in the hill country, and in the Negev, and in the lowland.
10 E partiu Judá contra os cananeus que habitavam em Hebrom, a qual se chamava antes Quiriate-Arba; e feriram a Sesai, e a Aimã, e a Talmai.
And Judah went against the Canaanites who lived in Hebron, and Hebron came out in opposition (now the name of Hebron before was Kiriath Arba), and they struck Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai.
11 E dali foi aos que habitavam em Debir, que antes se chamava Quiriate-Sefer.
From there he went against the inhabitants of Debir. (Now the name of Debir before was Kiriath Sepher.)
12 E disse Calebe: O que ferir a Quiriate-Sefer, e a tomar, eu lhe darei a Acsa minha filha por mulher.
Caleb said, "He who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife."
13 E tomou-a Otniel filho de Quenaz, irmão menor de Calebe: e ele lhe deu a Acsa sua filha por mulher.
Othniel the son of Kenaz, Caleb's younger brother, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
14 E quando a levavam, persuadiu-lhe que pedisse a seu pai um campo. E ela desceu do asno, e Calebe lhe disse: Que tens?
It happened, when she came to him, that she got him to ask her father for a field. And she got off from her donkey, and Caleb said to her, "What would you like?"
15 Ela então lhe respondeu: Dá-me uma bênção: pois me deste terra de secura, que me dês também fontes de águas. Então Calebe lhe deu as fontes de acima e as fontes de abaixo.
She said to him, "Give me a blessing; since you have given me the land in the Negev, give me also springs of water." So Caleb gave her according to her heart the upper springs and the lower springs.
16 E os filhos de queneu, sogro de Moisés, subiram da cidade das palmeiras com os filhos de Judá ao deserto de Judá, que está ao sul de Arade: e foram e habitaram com o povo.
And the descendants of the Kenite, Moses' father-in-law, went up out of the city of palm trees with the people of Judah into the wilderness of Judah, which is in the Negev of Arad; and they went and lived with the people.
17 E foi Judá ao seu irmão Simeão, e feriram aos cananeus que habitavam em Zefate, e assolaram-na: e puseram por nome à cidade, Hormá.
Judah went with Simeon his brother, and they struck the Canaanites who inhabited Zephath, and utterly destroyed it. The name of the city was called Hormah.
18 Tomou também Judá a Gaza com seu termo, e a Asquelom com seu termo, e a Ecrom com seu termo.
Also Judah took Gaza with its territory, and Ashkelon with its territory, and Ekron with its territory, and Ashdod with its surrounding lands.
19 E o SENHOR foi com Judá, e expulsaram os das montanhas; mas não puderam expulsar os que habitavam nas planícies, os quais tinham carros de ferro.
The LORD was with Judah; and drove out the inhabitants of the hill country; for he could not drive out the inhabitants of the valley, because they had chariots of iron.
20 E deram Hebrom a Calebe, como Moisés havia dito: e ele expulsou dali três filhos de Anaque.
They gave Hebron to Caleb, as Moses had spoken. And from there he possessed the three cities, and he drove out from there the three sons of Anak.
21 Mas aos jebuseus que habitavam em Jerusalém, não expulsaram os filhos de Benjamim, e tanto os jebuseus habitaram com os filhos de Benjamim em Jerusalém até hoje.
The people of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who inhabited Jerusalem; but the Jebusites dwell with the people of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.
22 Também os da casa de José subiram a Betel; e o SENHOR foi com eles.
And the house of Joseph also went up against Bethel; and the LORD was with them.
23 E os da casa de José puseram espias em Betel, a qual cidade antes se chamava Luz.
And the house of Joseph sent out spies to Bethel. (Now the name of the city before was Luz.)
24 E os que espiavam viram um homem que saía da cidade, e disseram-lhe: Mostra-nos agora a entrada da cidade, e faremos contigo misericórdia.
And the spies saw a man coming out of the city, and they captured him, and they said to him, "Please show us the entrance into the city, and we will show you mercy."
25 E ele lhes mostrou a entrada à cidade, e feriram-na a fio de espada; mas deixaram a aquele homem com toda sua família.
He showed them the entrance into the city; and they struck the city with the edge of the sword; but they let the man go and all his family.
26 E fosse o homem à terra dos heteus, e edificou uma cidade, à qual chamou Luz; e este é seu nome até hoje.
The man went into the land of the Hittites, and built a city, and called its name Luz, which is its name to this day.
27 Tampouco Manassés expulsou os de Bete-Seã, nem aos de suas aldeias, nem aos de Taanaque e suas aldeias, nem os de Dor e suas aldeias, nem os habitantes de Ibleão e suas aldeias, nem aos que habitavam em Megido e em suas aldeias; mas os cananeus quiseram habitar nessa terra.
Manasseh did not drive out the inhabitants of Beth Shean and its towns, nor Taanach and its towns, nor the inhabitants of Dor and its towns, nor the inhabitants of Ibleam and its towns, nor the inhabitants of Megiddo and its towns; but the Canaanites would dwell in that land.
28 Porém quando Israel tomou forças fez aos cananeus tributários, mas não o expulsou.
It happened, when Israel had grown strong, that they put the Canaanites to forced labor, and did not utterly drive them out.
29 Também Efraim não expulsou os cananeus que habitavam em Gezer; antes habitaram os cananeus em meio deles em Gezer.
Ephraim didn't drive out the Canaanites who lived in Gezer; but the Canaanites lived in Gezer among them.
30 Também Zebulom não expulsou aos que habitavam em Quitrom e aos que habitavam em Naalol; mas os cananeus habitaram no meio dele, e lhe foram tributários.
Zebulun didn't drive out the inhabitants of Kitron, nor the inhabitants of Nahalol; but the Canaanites lived among them, and became subject to forced labor.
31 Também Aser não expulsou aos que habitavam em Aco, e aos que habitavam em Sidom, Alabe, Aczibe, Helba, Afeque, e em Reobe;
Asher did not drive out the inhabitants of Acco, nor the inhabitants of Sidon, nor of Ahlab, nor of Achzib, nor of Helbah, nor of Aphik, nor of Rehob;
32 em vez disso, Aser morou entre os cananeus que habitavam na terra; pois não os expulsou.
but the Asherites lived among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land; for they did not drive them out.
33 Também Naftali não expulsou os que habitavam em Bete-Semes e os que habitavam em Bete-Anate, mas morou entre os cananeus que habitavam na terra; todavia, os moradores de Bete-Semes e os moradores de Bete-Anate foram-lhe tributários.
Naphtali didn't drive out the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh, nor the inhabitants of Beth Anath; but he lived among the Canaanites, the inhabitants of the land: nevertheless the inhabitants of Beth Shemesh and of Beth Anath became subject to forced labor.
34 Os amorreus pressionaram os filhos de Dã até as montanhas; pois não os permitiram descer ao vale.
The Amorites forced the people of Dan into the hill country; for they would not allow them to come down to the valley;
35 E os amorreus quiseram habitar no monte de Heres, em Aijalom e em Saalbim; mas a mão da tribo de José foi mais forte, e os fizeram tributários.
but the Amorites would dwell in Mount Heres, in Aijalon, and in Shaalbim: yet the hand of the house of Joseph prevailed, so that they became subject to forced labor.
36 E o limite dos amorreus foi desde a subida de Acrabim, desde a rocha, e daí acima.
The border of the Amorites was from the ascent of Akrabbim, from Sela and upward.
