Josué 16

1 E a porção dos filhos de José saiu desde o Jordão de Jericó até as águas de Jericó até o oriente, ao deserto que sobe de Jericó ao monte de Betel:

Then came out the lot, for the sons of Joseph, from the Jordan by Jericho, at the waters of Jericho, eastward, —the desert, going up from Jericho, through the hill country to Bethel;

2 E de Betel sai a Luz, e passa ao termo dos arquitas em Atarote;

and it goeth out from Bethel towards Luz, —and passeth over unto the boundary of the Archites at Ataroth;

3 E torna a descer até o mar ao termo dos jafletitas, até o termo de Bete-Horom a de abaixo, e até Gezer; e sai ao mar.

and descendeth westward, unto the boundary of the Japhletites, as far as the boundary of Bethhoron the nether, and as far as Gezer, —and the extensions thereof are to the sea.

4 Receberam, pois, herança os filhos de José, Manassés e Efraim.

So the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, received their inheritance.

5 E foi o termo dos filhos de Efraim por suas famílias, foi o termo de sua herança à parte oriental, desde Atarote-Adar até Bete-Horom a de acima:

And the boundary of the sons of Ephraim, by their families, was, —yea the boundary of their inheritance on the east, was Ataroth-addar, as far as Beth-horon the upper;

6 E sai este termo ao mar, e a Micmetá ao norte, e dá volta este termo até o oriente a Taanate-Siló, e daqui passa ao oriente a Janoa:

and the boundary goeth out westward at Michmethath, on the north, then the boundary bendeth round easward, to Taanath-shiloh, —and passeth by it on the east to Janoah;

7 E de Janoa desce a Atarote, e a Naarate, e cabe em Jericó, e sai ao Jordão.

and goeth down from Janoah to Ataroth and to Naarah, —and toucheth upon Jericho, and goeth out at the Jordan.

8 E de Tapua torna este termo até o mar ao ribeiro de Caná, e sai ao mar. Esta é a herança da tribo dos filhos de Efraim por suas famílias.

From Tappuah, runneth the boundary along westward, to the ravine of Kanah, and the extensions thereof are to the sea, —this, is the inheritance of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by their families;

9 houve também cidades que se apartaram para os filhos de Efraim em meio da herança dos filhos de Manassés, todas cidades com suas aldeias.

together with the cities which were separated for the sons of Ephraim, in the midst of the inheritance of the sons of Manasseh, —all the cities, with their villages.

10 E não expulsaram aos cananeus que habitavam em Gezer; antes restaram os cananeus em meio de Efraim, até hoje, e foram tributários.

But they did not dispossess the Canaanites who were dwelling in Gazer, —so the Canaanites have dwelt in the midst of Ephraim unto this day, and have become tributary servants.
