João 8
1 Porém Jesus foi para o monte das Oliveiras.
But Jesus went to the mount of Olives;
2 E pela manhã cedo voltou ao Templo, e todo o povo veio a ele; e sentando-se, ensinava-os.
and returned early in the morning into the temple, and all the people came to Him: and He sat down, and taught them.
3 E trouxeram-lhe os escribas e fariseus uma mulher tomada em adultério;
And the scribes and pharisees brought to Him a woman taken in adultery;
4 E pondo-a no meio, disseram-lhe: Mestre, esta mulher foi tomada no momento em que estava adulterando.
and setting her in the midst, they said to Him, "This woman was caught in the very act, committing adultery.
5 E na Lei nos mandou Moisés, que as tais sejam apedrejadas; tu pois que dizes?
Now Moses in the law has commanded us that such women should be stoned, but what sayest Thou?"
6 E isto diziam eles, tentando-o, para que tivessem de que o acusar. Mas inclinando-se Jesus, escrevia com o dedo na terra.
This they said to tempt Him, that they might have something to accuse Him of. But Jesus stooping down, wrote with his finger upon the ground.
7 E enquanto continuavam lhe perguntando, ele se endireitou, e disse-lhes: Aquele de vós que está sem pecado, [seja] o primeiro que atire pedra contra ela.
And as they continued asking Him, He raised himself up and said unto them, "Let him that is without sin among you, first cast a stone at her."
8 E voltando a se inclinar, escrevia na terra.
Then He stooped down again and wrote on the ground.
9 Porém ouvindo eles [isto], e acusados pela [própria] consciência, saíram um a um, começando dos mais velhos até os últimos; e Jesus ficou só, e a mulher, que estava no meio.
But when they heard his answer, being convicted by their own conscience, they went out one by one, beginning at the elder, even to the last. And Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst of the people.
10 E endireitando-se Jesus, e não vendo a ninguém além da mulher, disse-lhe: Mulher, onde estão aqueles teus acusadores? Ninguém te condenou?
Then Jesus rising up, and seeing none but the woman, said unto her, Where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?
11 E disse ela: Ninguém, Senhor. E disse-lhe Jesus: Nem eu também te condeno; vai, e não peques mais.»
And she said, None, Lord. Then said Jesus unto her, Neither do I condemn thee, Go thy way and sin no more.
12 Falou-lhes pois Jesus outra vez, dizendo: Eu sou a luz do mundo; quem me seguir não andará em trevas, mas terá luz de vida.
Then spake Jesus again to them, saying, I am the light of the world; he, that followeth me, shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.
13 Disseram-lhe pois os Fariseus: Tu testemunhas de ti mesmo; teu testemunho não é verdadeiro.
The pharisees therefore said to Him, Thou bearest witness of thyself; thy testimony is not true.
14 Respondeu Jesus, e disse-lhes: Ainda que eu testemunho de mim mesmo, meu testemunho é verdadeiro; porque sei de onde vim, e para onde vou; porém vós não sabeis, de onde venho, nem para onde vou.
Jesus answered and said unto them, Though I bear witness of myself, my testimony is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I am going; but ye know not whence I come, nor whither I go.
15 Vós julgais segundo a carne, eu não julgo a ninguém.
Ye judge according to the flesh, but I judge no man as yet:
16 E se eu também julgo, meu juízo é verdadeiro; porque não sou eu só, mas eu, e o Pai que me enviou.
though if I should judge, my judgement is true; for I am not alone, but I am with the Father that sent me.
17 E também em vossa Lei está escrito que o testemunho de duas pessoas é verdadeiro.
And it is written in your own law, that the testimony of two persons is valid.
18 Eu sou o que testemunho de mim mesmo; e [também] de mim testemunha o Pai, que me enviou.
Now I am one, who bear witness of myself; and the Father, who sent me, beareth witness of me.
19 Disseram-lhe pois: Onde está teu Pai? Respondeu Jesus: Nem a mim me conheceis, nem a meu Pai; se vós a mim conhecêsseis, também conheceríeis a meu Pai.
Then said they unto Him, Where is thy Father? Jesus answered, Ye neither know me, nor my Father: if ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also.
20 Estas palavras falou Jesus junto à arca do tesouro, ensinando no Templo; e ninguém o prendeu, porque sua hora ainda não era chegada.
These words spake Jesus in the treasury, when He was teaching in the temple: and no one laid hands on Him, for his hour was not yet come.
21 Disse-lhes pois Jesus outra vez: Eu me vou, e me buscareis, e morrereis em vosso pecado; para onde eu vou vós não podeis vir.
Jesus therefore said unto them again, "I am going away, and ye shall seek me, and shall die in your sin: where I go ye cannot come."
22 Diziam, pois, os Judeus: Ele, por acaso, matará a si mesmo? Pois diz: Para onde eu vou vós não podeis vir.
The Jews therefore said, What! will He kill himself; that He says, where I am going, ye cannot come?
23 E ele lhes dizia: Vós sois de baixo, eu sou de cima; vós sois deste mundo, eu não sou deste mundo.
And He said unto them, Ye are from beneath, I am from above: ye are of this world, I am not of this world.
24 Por isso eu vos disse, que morrereis em vossos pecados; porque se não credes que eu sou, morrereis em vossos pecados.
Therefore I said unto you, that ye shall die in your sins; for if ye believe not that I am the Messiah, ye shall die in your sins.
25 Disseram-lhe pois: Quem és tu? Jesus lhes disse: [Sou] o mesmo que desde o princípio tenho vos dito.
Then said they to Him, Who art thou? And Jesus answered them, Even the same that I told you at first.
26 Muitas coisas tenho que dizer e julgar de vós; mas verdadeiro é aquele que me enviou; e eu, o que dele tenho ouvido, isso falo ao mundo.
I have many things to say and to judge concerning you: but I only say, He that sent me is true, and I declare to the world those things, which I have heard from Him.
27 [Mas] não entenderam que ele estava lhes falando do Pai.
But they did not know that He spake unto them of the Father.
28 Jesus, então, lhes disse: Quando levantardes ao Filho do homem, então entendereis que eu sou, e que nada faço de mim mesmo; mas isto digo, como meu Pai me ensinou.
Jesus therefore said unto them, When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then ye shall know that I am He, and that I do nothing of myself, but as my Father hath instructed me, I speak these things.
29 E aquele que me enviou está comigo. O Pai não me tem deixado só, porque sempre faço o que lhe agrada.
And He that sent me, is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I always do the things that are pleasing to Him.
30 Falando ele estas coisas, muitos creram nele.
As He spake these words many believed on Him.
31 Dizia, pois, Jesus aos judeus que criam nele: Se vós permanecerdes em minha palavra, verdadeiramente sereis meus discípulos.
Therefore said Jesus to the Jews that believed on Him, If ye continue in my word, ye are indeed my disciples.
32 E conhecereis a verdade, e a verdade vos libertará.
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
33 Responderam-lhe: Somos descendência de Abraão, e nunca servimos a ninguém; como, [pois], dizes: Sereis livres?
They answered Him, We are the seed of Abraham, and never were slaves to any one, how then dost thou say, Ye shall be made free?
34 Respondeu-lhes Jesus: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, que todo aquele que comete pecado é servo do pecado.
Jesus answered them, Verily, verily I say unto you, whosoever maketh a practice of sin, is the servant of sin.
Now the servant does not continue always in the family: but the Son abideth always. (aiōn g165)
36 Portanto, se o Filho vos libertar, verdadeiramente sereis livres.
If therefore the Son make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
37 Bem sei que sois descendência de Abraão; porém procurais matar-me, porque minha palavra não encontra lugar em vós.
I know that ye are the seed of Abraham, but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you.
38 Eu, o que vi junto a meu Pai, [isso] falo; e vós, o que também vistes junto a vosso pai [isso] fazeis.
I speak that which I have seen with my Father, and ye do what ye have seen with your father.
39 Responderam, e lhe disseram: Nosso pai é Abraão. Disse-lhes Jesus: Se fôsseis filhos de Abraão, faríeis as obras de Abraão.
They answered Him, Abraham is our father, Jesus replied, If ye were the children of Abraham, ye would do the works of Abraham:
40 Porém agora procurais matar a mim, o homem que tenho vos falado a verdade que de Deus tenho ouvido; Abraão não fez isto.
but now ye seek to kill me, who have told you the truth which I have heard from God: Abraham did not thus.
41 Vós fazeis as obras de vosso pai. Disseram-lhe pois: Nós não somos nascidos de pecado sexual; nós temos um Pai: Deus.
But ye do the works of your father. Then said they unto Him, We are not born of fornication, we have one Father, even God.
42 Disse-lhes pois Jesus: Se Deus fosse vosso Pai, verdadeiramente me amaríeis; porque eu saí e venho de Deus; pois não vim de mim mesmo, porém ele me enviou.
Jesus said unto them, If God were your father, ye would love me: for I came forth, and do come, from God; neither came I of myself, but He sent me.
43 Por que não entendeis meu discurso? Porque não podeis ouvir minha palavra.
And why do ye not understand my language, but because ye cannot bear my doctrine?
44 Vós sois [filhos] de [vosso] pai, o Diabo, e quereis fazer os desejos de vosso pai; ele foi homicida desde o princípio, e não permaneceu na verdade, porque nele não há verdade; quando fala mentira, fala do seu próprio; porque é mentiroso, e pai da [mentira].
Ye are of your father the devil, and are bent upon doing the lusts of your father: he was a murderer from the beginning, and continued not in the truth: for there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh like himself, for he is a liar, and the father of such.
45 Porém a mim, porque [vos] digo a verdade, não credes em mim.
And because I say the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convicteth me of sin?
46 Quem de vós me convence de pecado? E se digo a verdade, por que não credes em mim?
And if I speak truth, why do ye not believe me?
47 Quem é de Deus, ouve as palavras de Deus; portanto vós não [as] ouvis porque não sois de Deus.
He, that is of God, receiveth the words of God; but ye therefore receive them not, because ye are not of God.
48 Responderam, pois, os Judeus, e lhe disseram: Nós não dizemos com razão que és samaritano, e tens o demônio?
The Jews therefore answered and said unto Him. Do we not rightly say, that thou art a Samaritan, and art possessed by a demon?
49 Respondeu Jesus: Eu não tenho demônio, antes honro a meu Pai; e vós me desonrais.
Jesus answered I am not possessed by a demon, but I honour my Father, though ye dishonour me.
50 Mas eu não busco minha glória; há quem a busque, e julgue.
And I seek not my own glory; there is One that seeketh it, and judgeth.
51 Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, que se alguém guardar minha palavra, jamais verá a morte. (aiōn g165)
Verily, verily, I say unto you, If any one keep my word, he shall never see death. (aiōn g165)
52 Disseram-lhe pois os Judeus: Agora conhecemos que tens o demônio. Abraão e os profetas morreram; e tu dizes: Se alguém guardar minha palavra, jamais experimentará a morte. (aiōn g165)
The Jews therefore said unto Him, Now we are sure that thou art possessed by a demon. Abraham is dead, and the prophets too; and thou sayest, If any one keep my word, he shall never taste of death: art thou greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? (aiōn g165)
53 És tu maior que nosso pai Abraão, que morreu? Os profetas também morreram. Quem tu dizes ser?
and the prophets are dead: whom dost thou pretend to be?
54 Respondeu Jesus: Se eu me glorifico a mim mesmo, minha glória é nada; meu Pai, o qual vós dizeis ser vosso Deus, ele é o que me glorifica.
Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honor is nothing: it is my Father that glorifieth me, of whom ye say that He is your God.
55 E vós não o conheceis, mas eu o conheço; e se disser que não o conheço, serei mentiroso como vós; mas eu o conheço, e guardo sua palavra.
And yet ye know him not; but I know Him: and if I should say, That I know Him not, I shall be like you, a liar: but I know Him, and obey his word.
56 Abraão, vosso pai, saltou de alegria por ver o meu dia; ele viu, e se alegrou.
Your father Abraham longed to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad.
57 Disseram-lhe, pois. os Judeus: Ainda não tens cinquenta anos, e viste a Abraão?
Then said the Jews unto Him, Thou art not yet fifty years old, and hast thou seen Abraham?
58 Jesus lhes disse: Em verdade, em verdade vos digo, que antes que Abraão fosse, eu sou.
Jesus said unto them, Before Abraham was, I am.
59 Então tomaram pedras para atirarem nele. Mas Jesus se escondeu, e saiu do Templo.
Therefore they took up stones to throw at Him. But Jesus concealed Himself, and went out of the temple, through the midst of them, and so passed on.
