Jó 33
1 Portanto, Jó, ouve, por favor, meus dizeres, e dá ouvidos a todas as minhas palavras.
And yet, I pray thee, O Job, Hear my speech and [to] all my words give ear.
2 Eis que já abri minha boca; minha língua já fala debaixo do meu céu da boca.
Lo, I pray thee, I have opened my mouth, My tongue hath spoken in the palate.
3 Meus dizeres pronunciarão a integridade do meu coração, e o puro conhecimento dos meus lábios.
Of the uprightness of my heart [are] my sayings, And knowledge have my lips clearly spoken.
4 O Espírito de Deus me fez, e o sopro do Todo-Poderoso me deu vida.
The Spirit of God hath made me, And the breath of the Mighty doth quicken me.
5 Se puderes, responde-me; dispõe-te perante mim, e persiste.
If thou art able — answer me, Set in array before me — station thyself.
6 Eis que para Deus eu sou como tu; do barro também eu fui formado.
Lo, I [am], according to thy word, for God, From the clay I — I also, have been formed.
7 Eis que meu terror não te espantará, nem minha mão será pesada sobre ti.
Lo, my terror doth not frighten thee, And my burden on thee is not heavy.
8 Certamente tu disseste a meus ouvidos, e eu ouvi a voz de tuas palavras,
Surely — thou hast said in mine ears, And the sounds of words I hear:
9 [Que diziam]: Eu sou limpo e sem transgressão; sou inocente, e não tenho culpa.
'Pure [am] I, without transgression, Innocent [am] I, and I have no iniquity.
10 Eis que [Deus] buscou pretextos contra mim, [e] me tem por seu inimigo.
Lo, occasions against me He doth find, He doth reckon me for an enemy to Him,
11 Ele pôs meus pés no tronco, e observa todas as minhas veredas.
He doth put in the stocks my feet, He doth watch all my paths.'
12 Eis que nisto não foste justo, eu te respondo; pois Deus é maior que o ser humano.
Lo, [in] this thou hast not been righteous, I answer thee, that greater is God than man.
13 Por que razão brigas contra ele por não dar resposta às palavras do ser humano?
Wherefore against Him hast thou striven, When [for] all His matters He answereth not?
14 Contudo Deus fala uma ou duas vezes, ainda que [o ser humano] não entenda.
For once doth God speak, and twice, (He doth not behold it.)
15 Em sonho [ou em] visão noturna, quando o sono profundo cai sobre as pessoas, [e] adormecem na cama.
In a dream — a vision of night, In the falling of deep sleep on men, In slumberings on a bed.
16 Então o revela ao ouvido das pessoas, e os sela com advertências;
Then He uncovereth the ear of men, And for their instruction sealeth:
17 Para desviar ao ser humano de sua obra, e do homem a soberba.
To turn aside man [from] doing, And pride from man He concealeth.
18 Para desviar a sua alma da perdição, e sua vida de passar pela espada.
He keepeth back his soul from corruption, And his life from passing away by a dart.
19 Também em sua cama é castigado com dores, com luta constante em seus ossos,
And he hath been reproved With pain on his bed, And the strife of his bones [is] enduring.
20 De modo que sua vida detesta [até] o pão, e sua alma a comida deliciosa.
And his life hath nauseated bread, And his soul desirable food.
21 Sua carne desaparece da vista, e seus ossos, que antes não se viam, aparecem.
His flesh is consumed from being seen, And high are his bones, they were not seen!
22 Sua alma se aproxima da cova, e sua vida dos que causam a morte.
And draw near to the pit doth his soul, And his life to those causing death.
23 Se com ele, pois, houver algum anjo, algum intérprete; um dentre mil, para anunciar ao ser humano o que lhe é correto,
If there is by him a messenger, An interpreter — one of a thousand, To declare for man his uprightness:
24 Então [Deus] terá misericórdia dele, e [lhe] dirá: Livra-o, para que não desça à perdição; [já] achei o resgate.
Then He doth favour him and saith, 'Ransom him from going down to the pit, I have found an atonement.'
25 Sua carne se rejuvenescerá mais do que era na infância, [e] voltará aos dias de sua juventude.
Fresher [is] his flesh than a child's, He returneth to the days of his youth.
26 Ele orará a Deus, que se agradará dele; e verá sua face com júbilo, porque ele restituirá ao ser humano sua justiça.
He maketh supplication unto God, And He accepteth him. And he seeth His face with shouting, And He returneth to man His righteousness.
27 Ele olhará para as pessoas, e dirá: Pequei, e perverti o [que era] correto, o que de nada me aproveitou.
He looketh on men, and saith, 'I sinned, And uprightness I have perverted, And it hath not been profitable to me.
28 [Porém] Deus livrou minha alma para que eu não passasse à cova, e [agora] minha vida vê a luz!
He hath ransomed my soul From going over into the pit, And my life on the light looketh.'
29 Eis que Deus faz tudo isto duas [ou] três vezes com o ser humano,
Lo, all these doth God work, Twice — thrice with man,
30 Para desviar sua alma da perdição, e o iluminar com a luz dos viventes.
To bring back his soul from the pit, To be enlightened with the light of the living.
31 Presta atenção, Jó, e ouve-me; cala-te, e eu falarei.
Attend, O Job, hearken to me, Keep silent, and I — I do speak.
32 Se tiveres o que dizer, responde-me; fala, porque eu quero te justificar.
If there are words — answer me, Speak, for I have a desire to justify thee.
33 E se não, escuta-me; cala-te, e eu ensinarei sabedoria.
If there are not — hearken thou to me, Keep silent, and I teach thee wisdom.
