Jó 32
1 Então aqueles três homens cessaram de responder a Jó, porque ele era justo em seus olhos.
Job's three friends stopped responding to him because he kept on protesting his innocence.
2 Porém se acendeu a ira de Eliú, filho de Baraquel, buzita, da família de Rão; contra Jó se acendeu sua ira, porque justificava mais a si mesmo que a Deus.
Then Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, of the family of Ram, grew angry. He was angry with Job for claiming he was right rather than God.
3 Também sua ira se acendeu contra seus três amigos, porque não achavam o que responder, ainda que tinham condenado a Jó.
Elihu was also angry at Job's three friends because they made it seem that God was wrong, because they had not been able to answer Job.
4 E Eliú tinha esperado a Jó naquela discussão, porque tinham mais idade que ele.
Elihu had waited to for the other three to speak with Job since they were older than he was.
5 Porém quando Eliú viu que não havia resposta na boca daqueles três homens, sua ira se acendeu.
But when he saw that they could not answer Job, he grew very angry.
6 Por isso Eliú, filho de Baraquel, buzita, respondeu, dizendo: Eu sou jovem e vós sois idosos; por isso fiquei receoso e tive medo de vos declarar minha opinião.
Elihu, the son of Barachel the Buzite, said, “I am young, and you are old, which is why I was reluctant to tell you what I know.
7 Eu dizia: Os dias falem, e a multidão de anos ensine sabedoria.
I told myself, ‘Those who are older should speak—those who are elderly should teach wisdom.’
8 Certamente há espírito no ser humano, e a inspiração do Todo-Poderoso os faz entendedores.
However, there is a spirit in human beings, the breath of the Almighty, that gives them understanding.
9 Não são [somente] os grandes que são sábios, nem [somente] os velhos entendem o juízo.
It is not the old who are wise, or the elderly who know what is right.
10 Por isso eu digo: escutai-me; também eu declararei minha opinião.
That's why I'm telling you to listen to me now—let me tell you what I know.
11 Eis que eu aguardei vossas palavras, [e] dei ouvidos a vossas considerações, enquanto vós buscáveis argumentos.
Well, I waited to hear what you had to say, listening for your insights as you looked for the right words to speak.
12 Eu prestei atenção a vós, porém eis que ninguém há de vós que possa convencer a Jó, [nem] que responda a suas palavras.
I paid close attention to all of you, and none of you have proved Job wrong or answered his arguments.
13 Portanto não digais: Encontramos a sabedoria; que Deus o derrote, [e] não o homem.
Don't say to yourselves, ‘We are so wise,’ for God will prove him wrong, not a human being.
14 Jó não dirigiu suas palavras a mim, nem eu lhe responderei com vossos dizeres.
Job didn't line up his arguments against me, and I won't answer him the way you did.
15 Estão pasmos, não respondem mais; faltam-lhes palavras.
You sit there speechless with nothing left to say.
16 Esperei, pois, porém [agora] não falam; porque já pararam, [e] não respondem mais.
Should I continue to wait since you're no longer talking, just standing there saying nothing?
17 Também eu responderei minha parte; também eu declararei minha opinião.
No—now I'll give my answer too. I'll tell you what I know.
18 Porque estou cheio de palavras, e o espírito em meu ventre me obriga.
I have so much to say I can't hold the words back!
19 Eis que meu ventre é como o vinho que não tem abertura; e que está a ponto de arrebentar como odres novos.
Inside I'm like fermenting wine all bottled up; like new wineskins ready to explode!
20 Falarei, para que eu me alivie; abrirei meus lábios, e responderei.
I have to speak before I burst; I will open my lips to answer him.
21 Não farei eu acepção de pessoas, nem usarei de títulos lisonjeiros para com o homem.
I will not take sides, and I'm not going to flatter anyone.
22 Pois não sei lisonjear; [caso contrário], meu Criador logo me removeria.
I don't know how to flatter, and if I did my Creator would soon destroy me.
