Jeremias 34
1 Palavra que veio do SENHOR a Jeremias, (quando Nabucodonosor rei da Babilônia, e todo o seu exército, e todos os reinos da terra que estavam sob o domínio de sua mão, e todos os povos, lutavam contra Jerusalém e contra todas as suas cidades), dizendo:
The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah — and Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his force, and all kingdoms of the land of the dominion of his hand, and all the peoples are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all its cities — saying:
2 Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Vai, e fala a Zedequias rei de Judá, e dize-lhe: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que eu dou esta cidade na mão do rei de Babilônia, e ele a queimará no fogo;
'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel: Go, and thou hast spoken unto Zedekiah king of Judah, and hast said unto him, Thus said Jehovah: Lo, I am giving this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he hath burned it with fire,
3 E tu não escaparás de sua mão; ao contrário, certamente serás preso, e serás entregue na mão dele; e teus olhos verão os olhos do rei da Babilônia, e ele te falará face a face, e entrarás na Babilônia.
and thou, thou dost not escape out of his hand, for thou art certainly caught, and into his hand thou art given, and thine eyes see the eyes of the king of Babylon, and his mouth with thy mouth speaketh, and Babylon thou enterest.
4 Ainda assim, ouve a palavra do SENHOR, ó Zedequias rei de Judá; assim diz o SENHOR quanto ti: Tu não morrerás à espada;
'Only, hear a word of Jehovah, O Zedekiah king of Judah, Thus said Jehovah unto thee: Thou dost not die by sword,
5 Em paz morrerás, e conforme às cerimônias de queimas por teus pais, os primeiros reis, que foram antes de ti, assim queimarão por ti, e prantearão por ti, dizendo: Ai, senhor!; pois eu disse esta palavra, diz o SENHOR.
in peace thou diest, and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings who have been before thee, so they make a burning for thee; and Ah, lord, they lament for thee, for the word I have spoken — an affirmation of Jehovah.'
6 E o profeta Jeremias falou a Zedequias, rei de Judá, todas estas palavras em Jerusalém,
And Jeremiah the prophet speaketh unto Zedekiah king of Judah all these words in Jerusalem,
7 Enquanto o exército do rei de Babilônia lutava contra Jerusalém e contra todas as cidades de Judá que haviam restado: contra Laquis, e contra Azeca; pois essas cidades fortificadas haviam restado dentre as cidades de Judá.
and the forces of the king of Babylon are fighting against Jerusalem, and against all the cities of Judah that are left — against Lachish, and against Azekah, for these have been left among the cities of Judah, cities of fortresses.
8 Palavra que veio do SENHOR a Jeremias, depois que o rei Zedequias fez um pacto com todo o povo em Jerusalém, para lhes proclamar liberdade;
The word that hath been unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, after the making by the king Zedekiah of a covenant with all the people who [are] in Jerusalem, to proclaim to them liberty,
9 Que cada um libertasse seu servo, e cada um sua serva, hebreu ou hebreia; de maneira que ninguém usasse dos seus irmãos judeus como servos.
to send out each his man-servant, and each his maid-servant — the Hebrew and the Hebrewess — free, so as not to lay service on them, any on a Jew his brother;
10 E atenderam todos os príncipes, e todo o povo, que entraram no pacto de cada um libertar a seu servo e cada um libertar sua serva, de maneira que ninguém usasse mais deles como servos, atenderam, e os liberaram.
and hearken do all the heads, and all the people who have come in to the covenant to send forth each his man-servant and each his maid-servant free, so as not to lay service on them any more, yea, they hearken, and send them away;
11 Porém depois se arrependeram, e trouxeram de volta os servos e as servas que haviam libertado, e os sujeitaram para serem servos e servas.
and they turn afterwards, and cause the men-servants and the maid-servants to return, whom they had sent forth free, and they subdue them for men-servants and for maid-servants.
12 Então veio a palavra do SENHOR a Jeremias, de parte do SENHOR, dizendo:
And there is a word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying:
13 Assim diz o SENHOR, Deus de Israel: Eu fiz um pacto com vossos pais no dia em que os tirei da terra do Egito, da casa de servos, dizendo:
'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, I — I made a covenant with your fathers in the day of My bringing them forth from the land of Egypt, from a house of servants, saying,
14 Ao fim de sete anos libertareis cada um a seu irmão hebreu que te for vendido, e tiver servido a ti por seis anos; e o deixarás livre de ti; mas vossos pais não me ouviram, nem inclinaram seu ouvidos.
At the end of seven years ye do send forth each his brother, the Hebrew, who is sold to thee, and hath served thee six years, yea, thou hast sent him forth free from thee: and your fathers hearkened not unto Me, nor inclined their ear.
15 E recentemente vós havíeis vos convertido, e tínheis feito o correto em meus olhos, proclamando cada um liberdade a seu próximo; e havíeis feito um pacto diante de minha presença, na casa sobre que se chama pelo meu nome:
'And ye turn back, ye to-day, and ye do that which is right in Mine eyes, to proclaim liberty each to his neighbour, and ye make a covenant before Me in the house over which My name is called.
16 Porém mudastes de ideia e profanastes o meu nome, e trouxestes de volta cada um a seu servo e cada um sua serva, os quais já havíeis libertado à vontade deles; e os sujeitastes para que sejam vossos servos e servas.
And — ye turn back, and pollute My name, and ye cause each his man-servant and each his maid-servant, whom he had sent forth free, (at their pleasure, ) to return, and ye subdue them to be to you for men-servants and for maid-servants.
17 Portanto assim diz o SENHOR: Vós não me ouvistes em proclamar cada um liberdade a seu irmão, e cada um a seu companheiro; eis que eu vos proclamo liberdade, diz o SENHOR, para a espada, para a pestilência, e para a fome; e eu vos tornarei em motivo de espanto a todos os reinos da terra.
'Therefore, thus said Jehovah: Ye have not hearkened unto Me to proclaim freedom, each to his brother, and each to his neighbour; lo, I am proclaiming to you liberty — an affirmation of Jehovah — unto the sword, unto the pestilence, and unto the famine, and I have given you for a trembling to all kingdoms of the earth.
18 E entregarei os homens que transgrediram meu pacto, que não cumpriram as palavras do pacto que fizeram diante de mim, dividindo em duas partes o bezerro e passando entre de seus pedaços:
'And I have given the men who are transgressing My covenant, who have not established the words of the covenant that they have made before Me, by the calf, that they have cut in two, and pass through between its pieces —
19 Os príncipes de Judá e os príncipes de Jerusalém, os eunucos e os sacerdotes, e todo o povo da terra, que passaram entre os pedaços do bezerro,
heads of Judah, and heads of Jerusalem, the officers, and the priests, and all the people of the land those passing through between the pieces of the calf —
20 Eu os entregarei na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que buscam [tirar] sua vida; e seus cadáveres serão alimento para as aves do céu, e para os animais da terra.
yea, I have given them into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and their carcase hath been for food to the fowl of the heavens, and to the beast of the earth.
21 E até a Zedequias, rei de Judá, e a seus príncipes, entregarei na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que buscam [tirar] sua vida, e na mão do exército do rei da Babilônia, que se retiraram de vós.
'And Zedekiah king of Judah, and his heads, I give into the hand of their enemies, and into the hand of those seeking their soul, and into the hand of the forces of the king of Babylon, that are going up from off you.
22 Eis que eu darei ordem, diz o SENHOR, e os farei voltarem a esta cidade; e lutarão contra ela, e a tomarão, e a queimarão a fogo; e tornarei em desolação as cidades de Judá, de modo que não haja morador.
Lo, I am commanding — an affirmation of Jehovah — and have brought them back unto this city, and they have fought against it, and captured it, and burned it with fire, and the cities of Judah I do make a desolation — without inhabitant.'
