Jeremias 3
1 Dizem: Se um homem deixar sua mulher, e ela for embora dele, e se juntar a outro homem, por acaso ele voltará a ela? Não será tal terra contaminada por completo? Tu porém tem te prostituído com muitos amantes; mas volta-te a mim, diz o SENHOR.
If a man put away his wife, and she depart from him, and become another man's, shall she return to him any more at all? shall not that woman be utterly defiled? you you have gone a-whoring with many shepherds, and have returned to me, says the Lord.
2 Levanta teus olhos aos lugares altos, e vê onde não tenhas te prostituído; tu te sentavas para eles nos caminhos, como árabe no deserto; e assim contaminaste a terra com tuas prostituições e com tua malícia.
Lift up your eyes [to look] straight forward, and see where you have not been utterly defiled. You have sat for them by the wayside as a deserted crow, and have defiled the land with your fornications and your wickedness.
3 Por isso as águas foram retidas, e não houve a chuva tardia; porém tu tens a testa de uma prostituta, [e] não aceitas ter vergonha.
And you did retain many shepherds for a stumbling block to yourself: you had a whore's face, you did become shameless toward all.
4 Não foi agora que clamaste a mim: Meu Pai, tu és o guia de minha juventude?
Hast you not called me as it were a home, and the father and guide of your virgin-time?
5 Por acaso ele manterá [sua ira] para sempre? Ele a guardará para sempre? Eis que [isto] tu falas, porém tu tens feito tantas maldades quanto pudeste.
Will [God's anger] continue for ever, or be preserved to the end? Behold, you have spoken and done these bad things, and had power [to do them].
6 Disse-me mais o SENHOR nos dias do rei Josias: Viste o que fez a rebelde Israel? Ela foi sobre todo monte alto e debaixo de toda árvore frondosa, e ali ela se prostituiu.
And the Lord said to me in the days of Josias the king, Hast you seen what things the house of Israel has done to me? they have gone on every high mountain, and under every shady tree, and have committed fornication there.
7 E eu disse depois que ele fez tudo isto: Volta para mim; mas ela não voltou. E sua traiçoeira irmã Judá viu isto;
And I said after she had committed all these acts of fornication, Turn again to me. Yet she returned not. And faithless Juda saw her faithlessness.
8 E eu vi, que por todas estas causas nas quais prostituiu a infiel Israel, eu a tinha mandado embora, e dado-lhe a carta de seu divórcio; porém a traiçoeira Judá sua irmã não temeu; ao contrário; ela também foi se prostituir.
And I saw that (for all the sins of which she was convicted, wherein the house of Israel committed adultery, and I put her away, and gave into her hands a bill of divorcement, ) yet faithless Juda feared not, but went and herself also committed fornication.
9 E aconteceu que foi pela leviandade de sua prostituição que a terra foi contaminada, e ela adulterou com a pedra e com a madeira.
And her fornication was nothing accounted of; and she committed adultery with wood and stone.
10 E mesmo com tudo isto, a traiçoeira, sua irmã Judá, não se converteu a mim de todo o seu coração, mas sim falsamente, diz o SENHOR.
And for all these things faithless Juda turned not to me with all her heart, but falsely.
11 E disse-me o SENHOR: Israel mostrou-se mais justa em sua alma, mais do que a traiçoeira Judá.
And the Lord said to me, Israel has justified himself more than faithless Juda.
12 Vai, e proclama estas palavras ao norte, e diz: Volta-te, ó infiel Israel, diz o SENHOR; não farei cair minha ira sobre vós: pois sou misericordioso, diz o SENHOR; não guardarei [a ira] para sempre.
Go and read these words toward the north, and you shall say, Return to me, O house of Israel, says the Lord; and I will not set my face against you: for I am merciful, says the Lord, and I will not be angry with you for ever.
13 Tão somente reconhece tua maldade, pois transgrediste contra o SENHOR teu Deus, e espalhaste teus caminhos aos estrangeiros debaixo de toda árvore frondosa, e não ouviste minha voz, diz o SENHOR.
Nevertheless, know your iniquity, that you have sinned against the Lord your God, and have scattered your ways to strangers under every shady tree, but you did not listen to my voice, says the Lord.
14 Convertei-vos, filhos infiéis, diz o SENHOR, pois sou vosso marido; e eu os tomarei um de uma cidade, e dois de uma família, e vos levarei a Sião;
Turn, you children that have revolted, says the Lord; for I will rule over you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you in to Sion:
15 E vos darei pastores conforme meu coração, que vos apascentem de conhecimento e de inteligência.
and I will give you shepherds after my heart, and they shall certainly tend you with knowledge.
16 E será que, quando vos multiplicardes e frutificardes na terra naqueles dias, diz o SENHOR, nunca mais dirão: Arca do pacto do SENHOR; nem virá ao pensamento, nem se lembrarão dela, nem a visitarão, nem será feita novamente.
And it shall come to pass that when you are multiplied and increased upon the land, says the Lord, in those days they shall say no more, The ark of the covenant of the Holy One of Israel: it shall not come to mind; it shall not be named; neither shall it be visited; nor shall [this] be done any more.
17 Naquele tempo chamarão a Jerusalém: trono do SENHOR, e todas as nações se ajuntarão a ela no nome do SENHOR em Jerusalém; e nunca mais seguirão a teimosia de seu coração maligno.
In those days and at that time they shall call Jerusalem the throne of the Lord; and all the nations shall be gathered to it: and they shall not walk any more after the imaginations of their evil heart.
18 Naqueles tempos os da casa de Judá andarão com a casa de Israel, e virão juntamente da terra do norte à terra que eu fiz herdar a vossos pais.
In those days the house of Juda, shall come together to the house of Israel, and they shall come, together, from the land of the north, and from all the countries, to the land, which I caused their fathers to inherit.
19 Mas eu disse: Como te porei por filhos, e te darei a terra desejável, a rica propriedade dos exércitos das nações? E disse: tu me chamarás: Meu pai, e não te desviarás de detrás de mim.
And I said, So be it, Lord, for [you said] I will set you among children, and will give you a choice land, the inheritance of the Almighty God of the Gentiles: and I said, You shall call me Father; and you shall not turn away from me.
20 Porém, tal como a esposa trai o seu companheiro, assim traístes contra mim, ó casa de Israel, diz o SENHOR.
But as a wife acts treacherously against her husband, so has the house of Israel dealt treacherously against me, says the Lord.
21 Uma voz se ouve sobre os lugares altos: é o pranto das súplicas dos filhos de Israel; porque perverteram seu caminho, [e] se esqueceram do SENHOR seu Deus.
A voice from the lips was heard, [even] of weeping and supplication of the children of Israel: for they have dealt unrighteously in their ways, they have forgotten God their Holy One.
22 Convertei-vos, filhos rebeldes; eu sararei vossas rebeliões. Eis-nos aqui; chegamos a ti, porque tu és o SENHOR nosso Deus.
Turn, you children that are given to turning, and I will heal your bruises. Behold, we will be your servants; for you are the Lord our God.
23 Certamente [confiar] nos morros é inútil, na multidão dos montes; certamente a salvação de Israel está no SENHOR nosso Deus.
Truly the hills and the strength of the mountains were a lying refuge: but by the Lord our God is the salvation of Israel.
24 Pois a vergonha consumiu o trabalho de nossos pais desde nossa juventude; suas ovelhas, suas vacas, seus filhos e suas filhas.
But shame has consumed the labors of our fathers from our youth; their sheep and their calves, and their sons and their daughters.
25 Jazemos em nossa vergonha, e nossa humilhação nos cobre; porque pecamos contra o SENHOR nosso Deus, nós e nossos pais, desde nossa juventude até hoje; e não obedecemos a voz do SENHOR nosso Deus.
We have lain down in our shame, and our disgrace has covered us: because we and our fathers have sinned before our God, from our youth until this day; and we have not listened to the voice of the Lord our God.
