Jeremias 26
1 No princípio do reinado de Jeoaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá, veio esta palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:
In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, came this word from the LORD, saying,
2 Assim diz o SENHOR: Põe-te no pátio da casa do SENHOR, e fala a todas as cidades de Judá, que vêm para adorar [na] casa do SENHOR, todas as palavras que te mandei que lhes falasses; não diminuas uma só palavra.
"Thus says the LORD: Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak to all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command you to speak to them; do not diminish a word.
3 Pode ser que ouçam, e se convertam cada um de seu mal caminho; então eu me arrependeria do mal que pretendo lhes fazer pela maldade de suas ações.
It may be they will listen, and turn every man from his evil way; that I may relent of the evil which I purpose to do to them because of the evil of their doings.
4 Dize-lhes, pois: Assim diz o SENHOR: Se não me ouvirdes para andardes em minha Lei, a qual dei diante de vós,
You shall tell them, 'Thus says the LORD: If you will not listen to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
5 Para dar atenção às palavras de meus servos, os profetas, que eu vos envio, insistentemente os enviando, mas não os ouvistes;
to listen to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I send to you, even rising up early and sending them, but you have not listened;
6 Então farei desta casa como a Siló, e tornarei esta cidade em maldição a todas as nações da terra.
then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.'"
7 E os sacerdotes, os profetas, e todo o povo, ouviram a Jeremias falar estas palavras na casa do SENHOR.
The priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
8 E sucedeu que, acabando Jeremias de falar tudo o que o SENHOR tinha lhe mandado falar a todo o povo, os sacerdotes e os profetas e todo o povo lhe pegaram, dizendo: Certamente morrerás;
It happened, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak to all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people laid hold on him, saying, "You shall surely die.
9 Pois profetizaste em nome do SENHOR, dizendo: Esta casa será como Siló, e esta cidade será assolada até não restar morador. E juntou-se todo o povo contra Jeremias na casa do SENHOR.
Why have you prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, 'This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate, without inhabitant?'" All the people were gathered to Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
10 E os príncipes de Judá, ao ouvirem estas coisas, subiram da casa do rei à casa do SENHOR; e sentaram-se à entrada da porta nova do SENHOR.
When the officials of Judah heard these things, they came up from the king's house to the house of the LORD; and they sat in the entry of the New Gate of the LORD's house.
11 Então os sacerdotes e os profetas falaram aos príncipes e a todo o povo, dizendo: Pena de morte [deve ter] este homem, pois profetizou contra esta cidade, como ouvistes com vossos [próprios] ouvidos.
Then spoke the priests and the prophets to the officials and to all the people, saying, "This man is worthy of death; for he has prophesied against this city, as you have heard with your ears."
12 E Jeremias falou a todos os príncipes e a todo o povo, dizendo: O SENHOR me enviou para profetizar contra esta casa e contra esta cidade todas as palavras que ouvistes.
Then Jeremiah spoke to all the officials and to all the people, saying, "The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that you have heard.
13 Agora, portanto, melhorai vossos caminhos e vossas ações, e ouvi à voz do SENHOR vosso Deus; então o SENHOR mudará de ideia quanto ao mal que falou contra vós.
Now therefore amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will relent of the disaster that he has pronounced against you.
14 Eu, porém, eis que estou em vossas mãos: fazei de mim como parecer melhor e mais correto aos vossos olhos.
But as for me, look, I am in your hands; do with me as is good and right in your eyes.
15 Mas sabei certamente que, se vós me matardes, então trareis sangue inocente sobre vós, e sobre esta cidade, e sobre seus moradores; porque em verdade o SENHOR me enviou a vós para falar aos vossos ouvidos todas estas palavras.
Only know for certain that, if you put me to death, you will bring innocent blood on yourselves, and on this city, and on its inhabitants; for of a truth the LORD has sent me to you to speak all these words in your ears."
16 Então os príncipes e todo o povo disseram aos sacerdotes e profetas: Este homem não é merecedor de pena de morte, porque em nome do SENHOR nosso Deus ele nos falou.
Then the officials and all the people said to the priests and to the prophets: "This man is not worthy of death; for he has spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God."
17 E se levantaram alguns dos anciãos da terra, e falaram a todo o ajuntamento do povo, dizendo:
Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spoke to all the assembly of the people, saying,
18 Miqueias, o morastita, profetizou nos dias de Ezequias rei de Judá, e falou a todo o povo de Judá, dizendo: Assim diz o SENHOR dos exércitos: Sião será arada como campo, e Jerusalém se tornará em amontoados [de pedras], e o monte do templo em lugares altos de mato.
"Micah the Morashtite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah; and he spoke to all the people of Judah, saying, 'Thus says the LORD of hosts: "Zion shall be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest."'
19 Por acaso foi ele morto por Ezequias rei de Judá e todo Judá? Por acaso [Ezequias] não temeu ao SENHOR, e orou na presença do SENHOR, e o SENHOR mudou de ideia quanto ao mal que tinha falado contra eles? E nós, faremos pois tão grande mal contra nossas [próprias] almas?
Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him to death? Did he not fear the LORD, and seek the favor of the LORD, and the LORD relented of the disaster which he had pronounced against them? Thus should we commit great evil against our own souls.
20 Houve também um homem que profetizava em nome do SENHOR: Urias, filho de Semaías de Quiriate-Jearim, o qual profetizou contra esta cidade e contra esta terra, conforme todas as palavras de Jeremias;
"There was also a man who prophesied in the name of the LORD, Uriah the son of Shemaiah of Kiriath Jearim; and he prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
21 E quando ouviu suas palavras o rei Jeoaquim, e todos seus grandes, e todos seus príncipes, então o rei procurou matá-lo; e Urias, ao ouvir [isso], teve medo, fugiu, e foi ao Egito;
And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the officials, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death; but when Uriah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt.
22 Porém o rei Jeoaquim enviou [alguns] homens a Egito: Elnatã filho de Acbor, e [outros] homens com ele, ao Egito;
And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him, into Egypt;
23 Os quais tiraram a Urias do Egito, e o trouxeram ao rei Jeoaquim, que o feriu à espada, e lançou seu cadáver nas sepulturas do povo comum.
and they fetched forth Uriah out of Egypt, and brought him to Jehoiakim the king, who killed him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people."
24 Porém a mão de Aicã, filho de Safã, foi com Jeremias, para que não o entregassem nas mãos do povo para o matarem.
But the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
