Jeremias 21
1 Palavra que veio do SENHOR a Jeremias, quando o rei Zedequias lhe enviou a Pasur filho de Malquias, e a Sofonias, sacerdote, filho de Maaseias, para que lhe dissessem:
The word which was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, whanne king Sedechie sente to hym Phassur, the sone of Helchie, and Sofonye, the preest, the sone of Maasie, and seide,
2 Pergunta agora por nós ao SENHOR; pois Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, está fazendo guerra contra nós; talvez o SENHOR faça conosco segundo todas as suas maravilhas, e o mande embora de sobre nós.
Axe thou the Lord for vs, for Nabugodonosor, the kyng of Babiloyne, fiytith ayens vs; if in hap the Lord do with vs bi alle hise merueilis, and he go awei fro vs.
3 E Jeremias lhes disse: Direis assim a Zedequias:
And Jeremye seide to hem, Thus ye schulen seie to Sedechie,
4 Assim diz o SENHOR Deus de Israel: Eis que eu virarei para trás as armas de guerra que estão em vossas mãos, com as quais lutais contra o rei da Babilônia e os Caldeus que vos têm cercado fora da muralha; e eu os juntarei no meio desta cidade.
The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal turne the instrumentis of batel that ben in youre hondis, and with which ye fiyten ayens the king of Babiloyne, and ayens Caldeis, that bisegen you in the cumpas of wallis; and Y schal gadere tho togidere in the myddis of this citee.
5 E eu mesmo lutarei contra vós com mão estendida e com braço forte; e com ira, indignação, e grande furor.
And Y schal ouercome you in hond stretchid forth, and in strong arm, and in stronge veniaunce, and indignacioun, and in greet wraththe;
6 E ferirei aos moradores desta cidade; tanto aos homens quanto aos animais; morrerão de grande pestilência.
and Y schal smyte the dwelleris of this citee, men and beestis schulen die bi greet pestilence.
7 E depois, assim diz o SENHOR, entregarei a Zedequias rei de Judá, e a seus servos, e ao povo, e aos que restarem na cidade da pestilência, da espada, e da fome, nas mãos de Nabucodonosor rei de Babilônia, nas mãos de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que buscam [tirar] suas vidas. Ele os matará ao fio de espada; não lhes poupará, nem terá deles compaixão, nem misericórdia.
And after these thingis, seith the Lord, Y schal yyue Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and hise seruauntis, and his puple, and that ben left in this citee fro pestilence, and swerd, and hungur, in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of her enemyes, and in the hond of men sekynge the lijf of hem; and he schal smyte hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd; and he schal not be bowid, nether schal spare, nether schal haue mercy.
8 E a este povo dirás: Assim diz o SENHOR: Eis que ponho diante de vós caminho de vida e caminho de morte.
And thou schalt seie to this puple, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y yyue bifore you the weie of lijf, and the weie of deth.
9 Aquele que permanecer nesta cidade, morrerá a espada, ou pela fome, ou pela pestilência; mas o que sair e se render aos Caldeus, que têm vos cercado, viverá, e terá sua vida como despojo.
He that dwellith in this citee, schal die bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence; but he that goith out, and fleeth ouer to Caldeis that bisegen you, schal lyue, and his lijf schal be as a prey to hym.
10 Porque pus meu rosto contra esta cidade para o mal, e não para o bem, diz o SENHOR; nas mãos do rei de Babilônia será entregue, e ele a queimará a fogo.
For Y haue set my face on this citee in to yuel, and not in to good, seith the Lord; it schal be youun in the hond of the king of Babiloyne, and he schal brenne it with fier.
11 E à casa do rei de Judá dirás: Ouvi palavra do SENHOR.
And thou schalt seie to the hous of the king of Juda, the hous of Dauid, Here ye the word of the Lord.
12 Casa de Davi, assim diz o SENHOR: Julgai de manhã com justiça, e livrai a vítima de roubo da mão do opressor; para que minha ira não saia como fogo, e incendeie de modo que não haja quem apague, por causa da maldade de vossas ações.
The Lord seith these thingis, Deme ye eerli doom, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; lest perauenture myn indignacioun go out as fier, and be kyndlid, and noon be that quenche, for the malice of youre studies.
13 Eis que eu [sou] contra ti, ó moradora do vale, da rocha do planalto, diz o SENHOR; [contra] vós que dizeis: Quem descerá contra nós? E quem entrará em nossas moradas?
Lo! Y to thee, dwelleresse of the sad valei and pleyn, seith the Lord, which seien, Who schal smyte vs, and who schal entre in to oure housis?
14 Eu vos punirei conforme o fruto de vossas ações, diz o SENHOR, e acenderei fogo em seu bosque, que consumirá tudo o que estiver ao redor dela.
And Y schal visite on you bi the fruyt of youre studies, seith the Lord; and Y schal kyndle fier in the forest therof, and it schal deuoure alle thingis in the cumpas therof.
