Isaías 59
1 Eis que a mão do SENHOR não está encolhida, para que não possa salvar; nem seu ouvido surdo, para não poder ouvir.
Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 Porém vossas perversidades fazem separação entre vós e vosso Deus; e vossos pecados encobrem o rosto dele de vós, para que não ouça.
But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid [his] face from you, that he will not hear.
3 Porque vossas mãos estão contaminadas de sangue, e vossos dedos de maldade; vossos lábios falam falsidade, vossa língua pronuncia perversidade.
For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 Ninguém há que clame pela justiça, nem ninguém que defenda causa em juízo por meio da verdade; confiam naquilo que é inútil, e falam mentiras; são causadores de opressão, e geram injustiça;
None calleth for justice, nor [any] pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.
5 Chocam ovos de serpente, e tecem teias de aranha; quem comer de seus ovos morrerá, e sairá uma cobra venenosa se forem pisados.
They hatch cockatrice’ eggs, and weave the spider’s web: he that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is crushed breaketh out into a viper.
6 Suas teias não servem para vestimentas, nem poderão se cobrir com suas obras; suas obras são obras de injustiça, e atos de violência há em suas mãos.
Their webs shall not become garments, neither shall they cover themselves with their works: their works [are] works of iniquity, and the act of violence [is] in their hands.
7 Seus pés correm para o mal, e se apressam para derramarem sangue inocente; seus pensamentos são pensamentos de injustiça, destruição e ruína há em suas estradas.
Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts [are] thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction [are] in their paths.
8 O caminho da paz eles não conhecem, nem há justiça em seus percursos; entortam suas veredas para si mesmos; todo aquele que anda por elas não experimentará paz.
The way of peace they know not; and [there is] no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.
9 Por isso o juízo está longe de nós, nem a justiça nos alcança; esperamos luz, [porém] eis que há [somente] trevas; [esperamos] brilho, [porém] andamos às escuras.
Therefore is judgment far from us, neither doth justice overtake us: we wait for light, but behold obscurity; for brightness, [but] we walk in darkness.
10 Apalpamos as paredes como cegos, e como se não tivéssemos olhos andamos apalpando; tropeçamos ao meio-dia como se fosse noite; entre os fortes estamos como mortos.
We grope for the wall like the blind, and we grope as if [we had] no eyes: we stumble at noonday as in the night; [we are] in desolate places as dead [men].
11 Todos nós bramamos como ursos, e continuamente gememos como pombas; esperamos pela justiça, e nada [acontece]; [esperamos] pela salvação, [porem] ela está longe de nós.
We roar all like bears, and mourn sore like doves: we look for judgment, but [there is] none; for salvation, [but] it is far off from us.
12 Pois nossas transgressões se multiplicaram diante de ti, e nossos pecados dão testemunho contra nós; pois nossas transgressões estão conosco, e conhecemos nossas perversidades,
For our transgressions are multiplied before thee, and our sins testify against us: for our transgressions [are] with us; and [as for] our iniquities, we know them;
13 [Tais como]: transgredir e mentir contra o SENHOR, e se desviar de seguir a nosso Deus; falar de opressão e rebelião, conceber e falar palavras de falsidade do coração.
In transgressing and lying against the LORD, and departing away from our God, speaking oppression and revolt, conceiving and uttering from the heart words of falsehood.
14 Por isso que o direito retrocedeu, e a justiça ficou de longe; pois a verdade tropeçou na praça, e a correta decisão não pode entrar.
And judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter.
15 E a verdade se perde, e quem se desvia do mal corre o risco de ser saqueado; e o SENHOR o viu, pareceu mal em seus olhos, por não haver justiça.
Yea, truth faileth; and he [that] departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the LORD saw [it], and it displeased him that [there was] no judgment.
16 E vendo que ninguém havia, maravilhou-se de que não houvesse intercessor algum; por isso seu próprio braço lhe trouxe a salvação, e sua própria justiça o susteve.
And he saw that [there was] no man, and wondered that [there was] no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him.
17 Pois ele se vestu de justiça como uma armadura, e [pôs] o capacete da salvação em sua cabeça; e vestiu-se de roupas de vingança [como] vestimenta, e cobriu-se de selo como uma capa.
For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head; and he put on the garments of vengeance [for] clothing, and was clad with zeal as a cloke.
18 Ele [lhes] retribuirá conforme [suas] obras: furor a seus adversários, pagamento a seus inimigos; aos litorais ele pagará de volta.
According to [their] deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompence to his enemies; to the islands he will repay recompence.
19 Então temerão o nome do SENHOR desde o ocidente, e sua glória desde o oriente; pois ele vem como uma correnteza impetuosa, empurrada pelo sopro do SENHOR.
So shall they fear the name of the LORD from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD shall lift up a standard against him.
20 E um Redentor virá a Sião, para aqueles que se arrependerem de [sua] transgressão em Jacó, diz o SENHOR.
And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the LORD.
21 Quanto a mim, este é meu pacto com eles, diz o SENHOR; meu Espírito que está sobre ti, e minhas palavras que pus em tua boca, não se afastarão de tua boca nem da boca de teus descendentes, nem da boca dos descendentes de teus descendentes, diz o SENHOR, desde agora e para sempre.
As for me, this [is] my covenant with them, saith the LORD; My spirit that [is] upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for ever.
