Isaías 48

1 Ouvi isto, casa de Jacó, que vos chamais pelo nome de Israel, e saístes das águas de Judá; que jurais pelo nome do SENHOR, e fazeis menção do Deus de Israel, [porém] não em verdade, nem em justiça.

Hear ye this, O house of Jacob, who are called by the name of Israel, and are come forth out of the spring of Judah, who swear by the name of the Lord, and make mention of the God of Israel, —not in truth, nor in righteousness.

2 E até da santa cidade se chamam; e confiam no Deus de Israel; EU-SOU dos exércitos é o seu nome.

For of the holy city they call themselves, and upon the God of Israel they stay themselves, —The Lord of hosts is his name.

3 As coisas passadas desde antes anunciei, procederam da minha boca, e eu as declarei publicamente; rapidamente eu as fiz, e elas aconteceram.

The former things have I declared from the beginning; and out of my mouth went they forth, and I announced them: suddenly did I accomplish them, and they came to pass;

4 Porque eu sabia que tu eras obstinado, e teu pescoço era um nervo de ferro, e tua testa de bronze.

Because I knew that thou art obstinate, that like an iron sinew is thy neck, and thy brow of copper;

5 Por isso eu anunciei a ti com antecedência, [e] te declarei antes que acontecesse, para que não viesses a dizer: Meu ídolo fez estas coisas, ou minha imagem de escultura ou imagem de fundição, [foi ela que] isso ordenou.

And I declared it to thee from the beginning; before yet it came to pass did I let thee hear it: lest thou should say, My idol hath done these things, and my graven image, and my molten image, have ordained them.

6 Já tens escutado. Olha bem para tudo isto: por acaso vós não diríeis [que isto é verdade]? A partir de agora eu te faço ouvir coisas novas, ocultas, e que nunca [antes] soubeste.

Thou hast heard it; see it all now; and you—will you not declare it? I caused thee to hear new things, from this time, even hidden things which thou hadst not known.

7 Agora foram criadas, e não antes; e antes de hoje não as ouvistes; para que não viesses a dizer: Eis que eu já as sabia.

Now are they created, and not from the beginning; and before the day [that I announced them] thou heardest them not; lest thou shouldest say, Behold, I knew them.

8 Tu não [as] ouviste, nem [as] soubeste, nem também teu ouvido havia sido aberto antes; porque eu sabia que agirias enganosamente, e que foste chamado de transgressor desde o ventre.

But neither hadst thou heard it; nor didst thou know; nor had in ancient times thy ear been opened; for I knew that thou wouldst deal very treacherously, and a transgressor wast thou called from thy birth.

9 Por causa do meu nome adiarei a minha ira, e por louvor a mim me conterei para contigo, para que eu não venha a te eliminar.

For the sake of my name will I defer my anger, and because of my praise will I restrain it toward thee, so that I may not cut thee off.

10 Eis que eu te purifiquei, porém não como a prata; eu te escolhi na fornalha da aflição.

Behold, I have refined thee, though not into silver: I have approved thee in the crucible of affliction.

11 Por causa de mim, por causa de mim eu o farei; pois como permitiria [meu nome] ser profanado? E minha glória não darei a outro.

For my own sake will I do it: for how would [my name] be dishonored? and my glory will I not give unto another.

12 Ouvi-me, ó Jacó, e tu, ó Israel, por mim chamado; eu sou o mesmo; eu sou o primeiro, eu também sou o último.

Hearken unto me, O Jacob, and Israel, my called one; I am he; I am the first, I also am the last.

13 Também minha mão fundou a terra, e minha mão direita estendeu os céus; quando eu os chamo, [logo] eles juntamente aparecem.

My hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned out the heavens: I call unto them, they stand forward together.

14 Ajuntai-vos, todos vós, e ouvi, quem [há] dentre eles, anunciou estas coisas? O SENHOR o amou, [e] executará sua vontade contra a Babilônia, e seu braço será [contra] os caldeus.

Assemble yourselves, all of you, and hear: Who among them hath told these things? He whom the Lord loveth, will do his pleasure on Babylon, and [display] his arm [on] the Chaldeans.

15 Eu, eu mesmo tenho dito; também eu já o chamei. Eu o farei vir, e ele prosperará [em] seu caminho.

I, even I, have spoken it, I have also called him: I have brought him, and he shall be prosperous on his way.

16 Achegai-vos a mim, ouvi isto: não falei em oculto desde o princípio; [ao contrário], desde o tempo em que aquilo se fez, ali eu estava; e agora o Senhor DEUS me enviou, e seu Espírito.

Come ye near unto me, hear ye this; never from the beginning have I spoken in secret; from the time that it occurred, was I there. And now the Lord Eternal hath sent me, and his Spirit.

17 Assim diz o SENHOR, teu Redentor, o Santo de Israel: Eu sou o SENHOR teu Deus, que te ensina o que é proveitoso, [e] te guia pelo caminho que deves andar.

Thus hath said the Lord, thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, I am the Lord thy God who teach thee for thy profit, who lead thee by the way thou shouldst go.

18 Ah, se tu tivesses me dado ouvidos a meus mandamentos! Então tua paz teria sido como um rio, e tua justiça como as ondas do mar.

Oh that thou hadst but listened to my commandments! then would have been as a river thy peace, and thy prosperity as the waves of the sea:

19 Também tua semente teria sido como a areia, e os que procedem do teu corpo, como suas pedrinhas, cujo nome nunca seria cortado, nem destruído de minha face.

And then would have been as the sand thy seed, and the offspring of thy body like the pebbles of the sea-shore; yet shall his name not be cut off nor destroyed from before me.

20 Saí da Babilônia, fugi dos caldeus; declarai com voz de júbilo, anunciai, [e] levai isto até o fim da terra; dizei: O SENHOR resgatou a seu servo Jacó!

Go forth out of Babylon, flee away from the Chaldeans, with the voice of singing declare, announce this, carry it forth as far as the end of the earth; say, The Lord hath redeemed his servant Jacob.

21 E não tinham sede, [quando] ele os levava pelos desertos; fez correr para eles água da rocha; e quando ele fendia as rochas, águas manavam delas.

And they thirsted not when he led them through the deserts; waters out of the rock he let drop down for them: and he cleaved the rock, and the waters gushed out.

22 [Porém] para os perversos não haverá paz, diz o SENHOR.

There is no peace, saith the Lord, unto the wicked.
