Isaías 34

1 Vós nações, achegai-vos para ouvir; e vós povos, escutai; que a terra ouça, e tudo quanto ela contém; o mundo, e tudo quanto ele produz.

Draw near, you nations; and listen, you princes; let the earth hear, and they that are in it; the world, and the people that are therein.

2 Pois a ira do SENHOR [está] sobre todas as nações, e [seu] furor sobre todo os exércitos delas; ele as destruirá, e as entregará à matança.

For the wrath of the Lord is upon all nations, and [his] anger upon the number of them, to destroy them, and give them up to slaughter.

3 E seus mortos serão lançados fora, e de seus corpos sairá seu fedor; e os montes se derreterão com seu sangue.

And their slain shall be cast forth, and their corpses; and their [ill] savor shall come up, and the mountains shall be made wet with their blood.

4 E todo o exército do céu se desfará, e os céus se enrolarão como um rolo de pergaminho; e todo o seu exército cairá, como cai a folha da vide, como cai [o figo] da figueira.

And all the powers of the heavens shall melt, and the sky shall be rolled up like a scroll: and all the stars shall fall like leaves from a vine, and as leaves fall from a fig tree.

5 Pois minha espada se embebedou no céu; eis que descerá sobre Edom, sobre o povo a quem condenei à destruição, para o julgamento.

My sword has been made drunk in heaven: behold, it shall come down upon Idumea, and with judgment upon the people doomed to destruction.

6 A espada do SENHOR está cheia de sangue, está untada de gordura de sangue de cordeiros e de bodes, da gordura de rins de carneiros; porque o SENHOR tem sacrifício em Bozra, e grande matança na terra dos edomitas.

The sword of the Lord is filled with blood, it is glutted with fat, with the blood of goats and lambs, and with the fat of goats and rams: for the Lord has a sacrifice in Bosor, and a great slaughter in Idumea.

7 E os bois selvagens descerão com eles, e os bezerros com os touros; e a terra deles beberá sangue até se fartar, e seu pó da terra de gordura será untado;

And the mighty ones shall fall with them, and the rams and the bulls; and the land shall be soaked with blood, and shall be filled with their fat.

8 Porque será o dia da vingança do SENHOR, ano de pagamentos pela briga contra Sião.

For it is the day of judgment of the Lord, and the year of the recompence of Sion in judgment.

9 E seus ribeiros se tornarão em piche, e seu solo em enxofre; e sua terra em piche ardente.

And her valleys shall be turned into pitch, and her land into sulphur; and her land shall be as pitch burning night and day;

10 Nem de noite, nem de dia se apagará, para sempre sua fumaça subirá; de geração em geração será assolada; para todo o sempre ninguém passará por ela.

and it shall never be quenched, and her smoke shall go up: it shall be made desolate throughout her generations,

11 Mas o pelicano e a coruja tomarão posse dela, a ave selvagem e o corvo nela habitarão; pois[o SENHOR] estenderá sobre ela o cordel da assolação e o prumo da ruína.

and for a long time birds and hedgehogs, and ibises and ravens shall dwell in it: and the measuring line of desolation shall be cast over it, and satyrs shall dwell in it.

12 Chamarão ao seus nobres ao reino, porém nenhum haverá ali; e todos os seus príncipes se tornarão coisa nenhuma.

Her princes shall be no more; for her kings and her great men shall be destroyed.

13 E em seus palácios crescerão espinhos; urtigas e cardos em suas fortalezas; e será habitação de chacais [e] habitação de avestruzes.

And thorns shall spring up in their cities, and in her strong holds: and they shall be habitations of monsters, and a court of ostriches.

14 E os animais do deserto se encontrarão com os lobos, e o bode berrará ao seu companheiro; os animais noturnos ali pousarão, e acharão lugar de descanso para si.

And devils shall meet with satyrs, and they shall cry one to the other: there shall satyrs rest, having found for themselves [a place of] rest.

15 Ali a coruja fará seu ninho e porá [ovos], e tirará seus filhotes, e os recolherá debaixo de sua sombra; também ali os abutres se ajuntarão uns com os outros.

There has the hedgehog made its nest, and the earth has safely preserved its young: there have the deer met, and seen one another's faces.

16 Buscai no livro do SENHOR, e lede; nenhuma destas [criaturas] falhará, nenhuma destas faltará com sua companheira; pois de minha própria boca ele mandou, e seu próprio Espírito as ajuntará.

They passed by in [full] number, and not one of them perished: they sought not one another; for the Lord commanded them, and his Spirit gathered them.

17 Pois ele mesmo lhes deu terreno, e sua mão repartiu para elas com o cordel; para sempre terão posse dela, geração após geração nela habitarão.

And he shall cast lots for them, and his hand has portioned out [their] pasture, [saying], You shall inherit [the land] for ever: they shall rest on it [through] all generations.
