Isaías 29
1 Ai de Ariel! Ariel, a cidade [em que] Davi se acampou. Acrescentai ano a ano, completem-se as festas de sacrifícios.
Ah altar, altar of the citie that Dauid dwelt in: adde yere vnto yere: let them kill lambs.
2 Contudo oprimirei a Ariel, e haverá pranto e tristeza; e [ela] me será como um altar de sacrifício.
But I wil bring the altar into distresse, and there shalbe heauines and sorowe, and it shall be vnto me like an altar.
3 Pois eu me acamparei ao seu redor, e te cercarei com rampas, e levantarei cercos contra ti.
And I wil besiege thee as a circle, and fight against thee on a mount, and will cast vp ramparts against thee.
4 Então serás abatida; falarás junto ao chão, e tua fala será fraca desde o pó da terra, como a de um morto, e tua fala sussurrará desde o pó da terra.
So shalt thou be humbled, and shalt speake out of the ground, and thy speach shalbe as out of the dust: thy voyce also shall be out of the ground like him that hath a spirite of diuination, and thy talking shall whisper out of the dust.
5 E a multidão de teus adversários será como o pó fino, e a multidão dos violentos como a palha que passa; e [isto] acontecerá de repente, em um momento.
Moreouer, the multitude of thy strangers shalbe like small dust, and the multitude of strong men shalbe as chaffe that passeth away, and it shall be in a moment, euen suddenly.
6 Pelo SENHOR dos exércitos serás visitada com trovões, terremotos, e grande ruído; com impetuoso vento, tempestade, e labareda de fogo consumidor.
Thou shalt be visited of the Lord of hostes with thunder, and shaking, and a great noyse, a whirlewinde, and a tempest, and a flame of a deuouring fire.
7 E tal como um sonho ou visão noturna, [assim] será a multidão de todas as nações que batalharão contra Ariel, [assim] também como todos os que lutaram contra ela e seus muros, e a oprimiram.
And the multitude of all the nations that fight against the altar, shalbe as a dreame or vision by night: euen all they that make the warre against it, and strong holdes against it, and lay siege vnto it.
8 Será também como um faminto que sonha estar comendo, porém, ao acordar, sua alma está vazia; ou como o sedento que sonha estar bebendo, porém, ao acordar, eis que está fraco e com sede na alma; assim será toda a multidão de nações que batalharem contra o monte de Sião.
And it shalbe like as an hungry man dreameth, and beholde, he eateth: and when he awaketh, his soule is emptie: or like as a thirsty man dreameth, and loe, he is drinking, and when he awaketh, beholde, he is faint, and his soule longeth: so shall the multitude of all nations be that fight against mount Zion.
9 Parai, e maravilhai-vos; cegai-vos, e sede cegos! Estão bêbados, mas não de vinho; cambaleiam, mas não por bebida alcoólica.
Stay your selues, and wonder: they are blinde, and make you blinde: they are drunken but not with wine: they stagger, but not by strong drinke.
10 Pois o SENHOR derramou sobre vós espírito de sono profundo; ele fechou vossos olhos (os profetas), e cobriu vossos cabeças (os videntes).
For the Lord hath couered you with a spirite of slumber, and hath shut vp your eyes: the Prophets, and your chiefe Seers hath he couered.
11 E toda visão vos será como as palavras de um livro selado que, quando se dá a um letrado, dizendo: Lê isto, por favor; Esse dirá: Não posso, porque está selado.
And the vision of them all is become vnto you, as the wordes of a booke that is sealed vp, which they deliuer to one that can reade, saying, Reade this, I pray thee. Then shall he say, I can not: for it is sealed.
12 E quando se dá o livro a alguém que não saiba ler, dizendo: Lê isto, por favor; Esse dirá: Não sei ler.
And the booke is giuen vnto him that can not reade, saying, Reade this, I pray thee. And he shall say, I can not reade.
13 Pois o Senhor disse: Visto que este povo se aproxima [de mim] com a boca, e me honram com seus lábios, porém seus corações se afastam de mim, e [fingem que] me temem por meio de mandamentos humanos que aprendem;
Therefore the Lord sayd, Because this people come neere vnto me with their mouth, and honour me with their lips, but haue remooued their heart farre from me, and their feare toward me was taught by the precept of men,
14 Por isso, eis que continuarei a fazer coisas espantosas com este povo; coisas espantosas e surpreendentes; porque a sabedoria de seus sábios perecerá, e a inteligência dos inteligentes se esconderá.
Therefore behold, I wil againe doe a marueilous worke in this people, euen a marueilous worke, and a wonder: for the wisdome of their wise men shall perish, and the vnderstanding of their prudent men shalbe hid.
15 Ai dos que querem se esconder do SENHOR, encobrindo [suas] intenções; e fazem suas obras às escuras, e dizem: Quem nos vê? Quem nos conhece?
Wo vnto them that seeke deepe to hide their counsell from the Lord: for their workes are in darkenes, and they say, Who seeth vs? and who knoweth vs?
16 [Como é grande] vossa perversão! Pode, por acaso, o oleiro ser considerado igual ao barro? Pode a obra dizer de seu criador que “ele não me fez”? Ou o vaso formado dizer de seu formador: “Ele nada entende”?
Your turning of deuises shall it not be esteemed as the potters clay? for shall the worke say of him that made it, Hee made me not? or the thing formed, say of him that facioned it, He had none vnderstanding?
17 Por acaso não [será que], daqui a pouco tempo, o Líbano se tornará um campo fértil? E o campo fértil será considerado uma floresta?
Is it not yet but a litle while, and Lebanon shall be turned into Carmel? and Carmel shall be counted as a forest?
18 E naquele dia os surdos ouvirão as palavras do livro; e os olhos dos cegos desde a escuridão e desde as trevas as verão.
And in that day shall the deafe heare the wordes of the booke, and the eyes of the blinde shall see out of obscuritie, and out of darkenesse.
19 E os mansos terão cada vez mais alegria no SENHOR; e os necessitados entre os homens se alegrarão no Santo de Israel.
The meeke in the Lord shall receiue ioye againe, and the poore men shall reioyce in the holy one of Israel.
20 Pois os violentos serão eliminados, e os zombadores serão consumidos; e todos os que gostam de maldade serão extintos.
For the cruel man shall cease, and the scornefull shalbe consumed: and all that hasted to iniquitie, shalbe cut off:
21 Os que acusam aos homens por meio de palavras, e armam ciladas contra quem [os] repreende na porta [da cidade], e os que prejudicam ao justo.
Which made a man to sinne in ye worde, and tooke him in a snare: which reproued them in the gate, and made the iust to fall without cause.
22 Portanto, assim o Senhor DEUS, que libertou a Abraão, diz à casa de Jacó: Jacó não será mais envergonhado, nem seu rosto ficará pálido,
Therefore thus sayth the Lord vnto the house of Iaakob, euen hee that redeemed Abraham, Iaakob shall not now be confounded, neither now shall his face be pale.
23 Pois quando ele vir seus filhos, obra de minhas mãos, no meio de si, [então] santificarão ao meu nome; santificarão ao Santo de Jacó, e temerão ao Deus de Israel.
But when he seeth his children, the worke of mine hands, in the mids of him, they shall sanctifie my Name, and sanctifie the holy one of Iaakob, and shall feare the God of Israel.
24 E os confusos de espírito virão a ter entendimento, e os murmuradores aprenderão doutrina.
Then they that erred in spirit, shall haue vnderstanding, and they that murmured, shall learne doctrine.
