Isaías 20

1 No ano em que o general enviado por Sargom, rei da Assíria, veio a Asdode, guerreou contra Asdode, e a tomou,

In the year that Tartan came to Ashdod, when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him, he fought against Ashdod and took it.

2 Naquele tempo o SENHOR falou por meio de Isaías, filho de Amoz, dizendo: Vai, tira a roupa de saco de teus lombos, e descalça a sandália de teus pés. E assim ele fez, andando nu e descalço.

At that time Yahweh spoke by Isaiah son of Amoz and said, “Go and remove the sackcloth from your waist, and take your sandals off your feet.” He did so, walking naked and barefoot.

3 Então o SENHOR disse: Assim como meu servo Isaías anda nu e descalço, [como] sinal e presságio relativo ao Egito e a Cuxe,

Yahweh said, “Just as my servant Isaiah has walked naked and barefoot for three years, it is a sign and an omen concerning Egypt and concerning Cush—

4 assim o rei da Assíria levará em cativeiro a prisioneiros do Egito e a prisioneiros de Cuxe, tanto jovens, como velhos, nus e descalços, e descobertas as nádegas, para envergonhar ao Egito.

in this way the king of Assyria will lead away the captives of Egypt, and the exiles of Cush, young and old, naked and barefoot, and with buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt.

5 E terão medo e vergonha por causa de Cuxe, em quem esperavam, e por causa do Egito, no qual se orgulhavam.

They will be dismayed and ashamed, because of Cush their hope and of Egypt their glory.

6 E os moradores do litoral dirão naquele dia: Vede [o que houve com] aqueles em quem esperávamos, a quem buscávamos socorro, para nos livrarmos da presença do rei da Assíria! E [agora], como escaparemos?

The inhabitants of these coasts will say on that day, 'Indeed, this was our source of hope, where we fled for help to be rescued from the king of Assyria, and now, how can we escape?'”
