Isaías 18
1 Ai da terra dos zumbidos de asas, que está além dos rios de Cuxe,
Ho! thou land of the buzzing of wings, —Which is beyond the rivers of Ethiopia:
2 Que envia embaixadores pelo mar, e em navios de junco sobre as águas, [com a ordem]: Ide, mensageiros velozes, a uma nação [de gente] alta e de pele lisa, a um povo temido desde seus territórios afora, uma nação dominadora e esmagadora, cuja terra os rios dividem.
That sendeth by the sea, ambassadors Even in vessels of paper-reed, upon the face of the waters, —Go ye swift messengers Unto a nation drawn out and polished, Unto a people terrible from their beginning and onwards, —A nation most mighty and subduing, Whose land rivers have cut through.
3 Vós todos, habitantes do mundo, e vós, moradores da terra, vede quando for levantada a bandeira [nos] montes, e ouvi quando for tocada a trombeta.
All ye inhabitants of the world And ye, that dwell in the earth, —When there is lifted up an ensign on the mountains, Ye shall look, And when there is blown a horn, Ye shall hearken.
4 Porque assim me disse o SENHOR: Estarei quieto olhando desde minha morada, como o calor ardente da luz do sol, como a nuvem de orvalho no calor da ceifa.
For, thus, said Yahweh unto me, —I must be quiet I must look on in my fixed place of abode, —Like a bright heat on the light, Like a cloud of dew in the heat of harvest.
5 Porque antes da ceifa, quando a flor já se acabou, e as uvas brotam prestes a amadurecer, então ele podará as vides com a foice e, tendo cortado os ramos, ele os tirará [dali].
For before harvest, when the bud is perfect, And, the blossom, becometh a ripening grape, Then will one cut down the twigs with pruning-hooks, And the tendrils, will he remove [and] cast down:
6 Eles serão deixados juntos para as aves dos montes, e para os animais da terra; e sobre eles as aves passarão o verão, e todos os animais da terra passarão o inverno sobre eles.
They shall be left together. To the ravenous birds, of the mountains, And to the beast of the earth, —Then shall the ravenous bird, summer upon them, And, every beast of the earth, upon them, shall winter.
7 Naquele tempo, será trazido um presente ao SENHOR dos exércitos por um povo alto e de pele lisa, e um povo temível desde seus territórios afora; uma nação dominadora e esmagadora, cuja terra rios dividem, ao lugar que pertence ao nome do SENHOR dos exércitos, ao monte de Sião.
In that time, shall there be borne along. As a present unto Yahweh of hosts A people drawn out and polished, Even from a people terrible from their beginning and onwards, —nation most mighty and subduing Whose land rivers, have cut through, Unto the place of the Name of Yahweh of hosts. Mount Zion.
