Isaías 16

1 Enviai os cordeiros ao dominador da terra desde Sela pelo deserto, ao monte da filha de Sião.

Send ye the lamb due to the ruler of the land, From Sela towards the desert, —Unto the mount of the daughter of Zion;

2 Pois será que, como o pássaro vagueante, lançado do ninho, assim serão as filhas de Moabe junto aos vaus de Arnom.

Yet shall it be that—Like wandering birds from a nest cast forth, Shall be the daughters of Moab, at the fords of Arnon.

3 Toma conselho, faze juízo, põe tua sombra no pino do meio dia como a noite; esconde aos exilados, [e] não exponhas os fugitivos.

Bring thou, in counsel, Execute thou judgment, Make as the night, thy shadow in the midst of high noon, —Hide thou the outcasts, The wanderer, do not thou reveal.

4 Habitem entre ti teus prisioneiros, Moabe; sê tu refúgio para eles da presença do destruidor, porque o opressor terá fim, a destruição terminará, e os esmagadores serão consumidos de sobre a terra.

Let mine own outcasts, sojourn with thee, O Moab, become thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler, —For vanished is the oppressor, At an end is extortion, They who tread down have ceased out of the land.

5 Porque o trono se firmará em bondade, e sobre ele no tabernáculo de Davi em verdade se sentará um que julgue, e busque o juízo, e se apresse para a justiça.

So shall be established, in lovingkindness, a throne, And one shall sit thereon, in truth, in the home of David, —Judging—and seeking justice and speeding righteousness.

6 Já ouvimos a soberba de Moabe, o arrogante ao extremo; sua arrogância, soberba e furor, [mas] seus orgulhos não são [firmes].

We have heard of the arrogance of Moab, Proud exceedingly! His haughtiness and his arrogance and his passion, Not true, are his boastings.

7 Por isso Moabe gritará de lamento por Moabe; todos eles gritarão de lamento; gemereis pelos fundamentos de Quir-Haresete, pois estão quebrados.

Therefore shall, Moab, howl for, Moab, All that belong to her, shall wail, —For the ruins of Kir-hareseth, shall they moan out Utterly stricken!

8 Pois os campos de Hesbom enfraqueceram, [e também] a vinha de Sibma, os senhores das nações esmagaram suas melhores plantas, que chegavam a Jezer, [e] alcançavam o deserto; seus ramos se estendiam, e passavam até o mar.

For, the fields of Heshbon are withered—The vine of Sibmah, the owners of nations, have broken off ruddy branches, Unto Jazer, had they reached, They had spread abroad to the desert, —Her boughs, had stretched forth, had gone over to the sea.

9 Por isso lamentarei com pranto por Jezer, a vide de Sibma; eu te regarei com minhas lágrimas, ó Hesbom e Eleale; pois a alegria de teus frutos de verão e de tua colheita caiu.

For this cause, will I bewail, in the wailing of Jazer, The vine of Sibmah, I will drench thee with my tears, O Heshbon and Elealeh, —For, upon thy fruit-harvest, and upon thy grain-harvest, the battle-shout, hath fallen.

10 E foram tirados a alegria e o prazer do campo frutífero; e nas vinhas não se canta, nem grito de alegria se faz; o pisador não pisará as uvas nas prensas; eu pus fim aos clamores de alegria.

Now shall be withdrawn rejoicing and exultation out of the garden-land, And, in the vineyards, shall be neither singing nor shouting, —Wine in the winepress, the treader, shall not tread, The vintage-shout, have I made to cease.

11 Por isso meus órgãos fazem ruído por Moabe como um harpa; e meu interior por Quir- Heres.

For this cause, mine inward parts—for Moab, like a lyre, shall make a plaintive sound, —Yea what is within me, for Kir-heres.

12 E será que, quando [o povo de] Moabe se apresentar e se cansar nos lugares altos, e entrarem em seus templo para orar, nada conseguirão.

And it shall be—When it is seen that Moab hath laboured in vain on the high place, He shall enter into his holy place to pray, and shall not prevail,

13 Esta é a palavra que o SENHOR falou sobre Moabe desde então.

This, is the word which Yahweh spake concerning Moab in, time past;

14 Mas agora [assim] fala o SENHOR, dizendo: Dentro de três anos, (tais como anos de empregado), então se tornará desprezível a glória de Moabe, com toda a sua grande multidão; e os restantes serão muito poucos e sem poder.

But now, hath Yahweh spoken saying, In three years, —as the years of a hireling, shall the glory of Moab be diminished, with all the great multitude, —even a very small remnant, of no account.
