Hebreus 8
1 Ora, o ponto-chave do que falamos é que temos um Sumo Sacerdote que está sentado à direita do trono da Majestade nos céus,
Now of the things which we have spoken [this is] the sum: We have such a high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;
2 servidor do Santuário, e do verdadeiro Tabernáculo, que Senhor ergueu, e não o homem.
A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.
3 Pois todo sumo sacerdote é constituído para apresentar tanto ofertas como sacrifícios; por isso era necessário que também este tivesse alguma coisa a oferecer.
For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: wherefore [it is] of necessity that this man should have somewhat also to offer.
4 Mas, se ele [ainda] estivesse na terra, nem sequer seria sacerdote, já que [ainda] há os que apresentam as ofertas segundo a Lei.
For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest, seeing there are priests that offer gifts according to the law:
5 Esses servem a um esboço, uma sombra das coisas celestiais, como Moisés foi divinamente avisado, antes de construir o Tabernáculo. Porque [Deus] disse: Olha, faze tudo conforme o modelo que te foi mostrado no monte.
Who serve to the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished by God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See (saith he) [that] thou make all things according to the pattern shown to thee in the mount.
6 Mas agora [Jesus] obteve um ofício mais relevante, como é também Mediador de um melhor pacto, que está firmado em melhores promessas.
But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.
7 Pois, se aquele primeiro tivesse sido infalível, nunca haveria se buscado lugar para o segundo.
For if that first [covenant] had been faultless, then would no place have been sought for the second.
8 Porque, enquanto [Deus] repreendia os do povo, disse-lhes: Eis que vêm dias, diz o Senhor, que, sobre o povo de Israel e sobre o povo de Judá, estabelecerei um novo pacto;
For finding fault with them, he saith, Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:
9 não conforme o pacto que fiz com os seus ancestrais no dia em que eu os tomei pelas mãos, para os tirar da terra do Egito. Pois não permaneceram naquele meu pacto, e parei de lhes dar atenção, diz o Senhor.
Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in my covenant, and I regarded them not, saith the Lord.
10 Este, pois, é o pacto que farei com o povo de Israel depois daqueles dias, diz o Senhor: Porei minhas leis nas mentes deles, e as escreverei em seus corações. Eu serei o Deus deles, e eles serão o meu povo.
For this [is] the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put my laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to me a people:
11 E não terão de ensinar cada um ao seu conterrâneo, ou ao seu irmão, dizendo: “Conhece ao Senhor”; porque todos me conhecerão, desde o menor deles até o maior.
And they shall not teach every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest.
12 Pois serei misericordioso com as suas injustiças, e não mais me lembrarei dos seus pecados.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
13 Quando ele disse: “Novo [pacto]”, ele tornou o primeiro ultrapassado. Ora, o que se torna ultrapassado e envelhece está perto de desaparecer.
In that he saith, A new [covenant], he hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and groweth old [is] ready to vanish away.
