Habacuque 1
1 Revelação que o profeta Habacuque viu.
The oracle which Habakkuk the prophet saw.
2 Até quando, SENHOR, eu clamarei, e tu não ouvirás? [Até quando] gritarei a ti: Violência!, e tu não salvarás?
LORD, how long will I cry, and you will not hear? I cry out to you "Violence." and will you not save?
3 Por que me fazes ver a injustiça, e vês a opressão? Pois assolação e violência estão em frente de mim, há brigas, e disputas se levantam.
Why do you show me iniquity, and look at perversity? For destruction and violence are before me. There is strife, and contention rises up.
4 Por isso que a lei é enfraquecida, e o juízo nunca se cumpre: porque o perverso cerca o justo, por o juízo é distorcido.
Therefore the law is paralyzed, and justice never goes forth; for the wicked surround the righteous; therefore justice goes forth perverted.
5 Vede entre as nações, e prestai atenção, e espantai-vos, espantai-vos; porque uma obra será feita em vossos dias, que quando for contada, não acreditareis.
"Look, you scoffers, and watch, and be utterly amazed, and perish; for I am working a work in your days which you will not believe, though it is told you.
6 Porque eis que eu levanto os caldeus, uma nação amarga e veloz, que caminha pelas larguras da terra para tomar posse de moradas que não são suas.
For, look, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, that march through the breadth of the earth, to possess dwelling places not his own.
7 Ela é espantosa é e terrível; que impõe seu próprio julgamento e sua própria honra.
He is feared and dreaded. His judgment will be from himself, and his authority will come from himself.
8 E seus cavalos são mais rápidos que os leopardos, e mais ferozes que lobos de tarde; e seus cavaleiros avançam; seus cavaleiros virão de longe, e voarão como águias que se apressam para devorar.
His horses also are swifter than leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves. And their horsemen press proudly on, and, their horsemen come from afar. They fly as an eagle that hurries to devour.
9 Todos eles vêm para [fazer] violência; seus rostos estão orientados; e juntarão cativos como areia.
All of them come for violence. Their hordes face the desert. He gathers prisoners like sand.
10 E escarnecerão dos reis, e zombarão dos príncipes; rirão de todas as fortalezas, porque amontoarão terra, e as tomarão.
And he will scoff at kings and deride rulers. He laughs at every stronghold, for he builds up an earthen ramp, and takes it.
11 Logo mudarão, e passarão adiante como o vento; porém culpado será quem confiar na força de seu deus.
Then he sweeps by like the wind, and goes on. He is indeed guilty, whose strength is his god."
12 Não és tu desde o princípio, ó SENHOR, meu Deus, meu Santo? Não morreremos. Ó SENHOR, tu os puseste para [executar] o julgamento; e tu, ó Rocha, os estabeleceste para castigar.
Aren't you from everlasting, LORD my God, my Holy One? We will not die. LORD, you have appointed him for judgment. You, Rock, have established him to punish.
13 Teus olhos são puros demais para veres o mal, e não podes observar a opressão; ora, por que olharias aos enganadores, e calarias quando o perverso devora ao mais justo que ele?
You who have purer eyes than to see evil, and who cannot look on perversity, why do you tolerate those who deal treacherously, and keep silent when the wicked swallows up the man who is more righteous than he,
14 Tornarias as pessoas como como os peixes do mar, como répteis que não têm quem os governe?
and make men like the fish of the sea, like the crawling creatures, that have no ruler over them?
15 Ele tira a todos com anzol, em sua malha os ajunta, e os colhe em seu rede; por isso ele se alegra e tem prazer.
He takes up all of them with the hook, and he catches them in his net and gathers them in his dragnet. Therefore he rejoices and is glad.
16 Por isso ele faz sacrifícios à sua malha, e oferece incensos à sua rede; porque com elas enriqueceu sua porção, e engordou sua comida.
Therefore he sacrifices to his net, and burns incense to his dragnet, because by them his life is luxurious, and his food is good.
17 Continuará ele, pois, a esvaziar a sua malha, e a matar as nações continuamente sem ter compaixão?
Will he therefore continually empty his net, killing the nations without mercy?
