Gênesis 35

1 E disse Deus a Jacó: Levanta-te, sobe a Betel, e fica ali; e faze ali um altar ao Deus que te apareceu quando fugias de teu irmão Esaú.

Then said God unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there, —and make there an altar, to the GOD who appeared unto thee, when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother.

2 Então Jacó disse à sua família e a todos os que com ele estavam: Tirai os deuses alheios que há entre vós, e limpai-vos, e mudai vossas roupas.

And Jacob said unto his house, and unto all who were with him, —Put away the gods of the alien which are in your midst, and purify yourselves, and change your garments;

3 E levantemo-nos, e subamos a Betel; e farei ali altar ao Deus que me respondeu no dia de minha angústia, e foi comigo no caminho que andei.

And let us arise, and go up to Beth-el, —that I may make there an altar to the GOD who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way that I went.

4 Assim deram a Jacó todos os deuses alheios que havia em poder deles, e os brincos que estavam em suas orelhas; e Jacó os escondeu debaixo de um carvalho, que estava junto a Siquém.

So they gave unto Jacob all the gods of the alien which were in their hand, and the earrings which were in their ears, —and Jacob hid them under the oak, which was by Shechem.

5 E partiram-se, e o terror de Deus foi sobre as cidades que havia em seus arredores, e não seguiram atrás dos filhos de Jacó.

And they brake up, —and it came to pass that the terror of God, was on the cities which were round about them, so that they pursued not after the sons of Jacob.

6 E chegou Jacó a Luz, que está em terra de Canaã, (esta é Betel) ele e todo o povo que com ele estava;

And Jacob came in towards Luz, which was in the land of Canaan, the same, is Beth-el, —he and all the people who were with him.

7 E edificou ali um altar, e chamou o lugar El-Betel, porque ali lhe havia aparecido Deus, quando fugia de seu irmão.

And he built there an altar, and called the place El-Beth-el, —because, there, God revealed himself unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother,

8 Então morreu Débora, ama de Rebeca, e foi sepultada às raízes de Betel, debaixo de um carvalho: e chamou-se seu nome Alom-Bacute.

And Deborah, Rebekah’s nurse died, and was buried below Beth-el, under the oak, —so the name thereof was called, Allon-bacuth.

9 E apareceu-se outra vez Deus a Jacó, quando se havia voltado de Padã-Arã, e abençoou-lhe.

And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came in from Padan-aram, —and blessed him.

10 E disse-lhe Deus: Teu nome é Jacó; não se chamará mais teu nome Jacó, mas sim Israel será teu nome: e chamou seu nome Israel.

And God said to him, Thy name, is Jacob, —Thy name shall no longer be called Jacob But, Israel, shall be thy name. So he called his name, Israel.

11 E disse-lhe Deus: Eu sou o Deus Todo-Poderoso: cresce e multiplica-te; uma nação e conjunto de nações procederá de ti, e reis sairão de teus lombos:

And God said to him—I, am GOD Almighty! Be fruitful and multiply, A nation, and a multitude of nations shall spring from thee, —And, kings, from thy loins, shall come forth;

12 E a terra que eu dei a Abraão e a Isaque, a darei a ti: e à tua descendência depois de ti darei a terra.

And, the land which I gave to Abraham and to Isaac, To thee, will I give it, —And to thy seed after thee, will I give the land.

13 E foi-se dele Deus, do lugar onde com ele havia falado.

And God went up from him at the place where he had spoken with him.

14 E Jacó erigiu uma coluna no lugar onde havia falado com ele, uma coluna de pedra, e derramou sobre ela libação, e deitou sobre ela azeite.

And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he had spoken with him, a pillar of stone, —and he poured out thereon a drink-offering, and poured thereon oil.

15 E chamou Jacó o nome daquele lugar onde Deus havia falado com ele, Betel.

And Jacob called the name of the place where God had spoken with him, Beth-el.

16 E partiram de Betel, e havia ainda como alguma distância para chegar a Efrata, quando deu à luz Raquel, e houve trabalho em seu parto.

Then brake they up from Beth-el, and it came to pass when there was yet a stretch of country, to enter into Ephrath, that Rachel was in childbirth, and had hard-labour in her child-birth.

17 E aconteceu, que quando havia trabalho em seu parto, disse-lhe a parteira: Não temas, que também terás este filho.

So it came to pass when she was in hard-labour in her child-birth, that the midwife said to her—Do not fear, for this also of thine, is, a son.

18 E aconteceu que ao sair dela a alma, (pois morreu) chamou seu nome Benoni; mas seu pai o chamou Benjamim.

And it came to pass when her soul was going forth—for she died, that she called his name Ben-oni, —but, his father, called him, Ben-jamin.

19 Assim morreu Raquel, e foi sepultada no caminho de Efrata, a qual é Belém.

So Rachel died, —and was buried on the way to Ephrath, the same, is Bethlehem.

20 E pôs Jacó uma coluna sobre sua sepultura: esta é a coluna da sepultura de Raquel até hoje.

And Jacob set up a pillar, over her grave, —the same, is—The Pillar of the Grave of Rachel until this day.

21 E partiu Israel, e estendeu sua tenda da outra parte de Migdal-Eder.

Then Israel brake up, —and spread his tent at a distance from Migdal Eder.

22 E aconteceu, morando Israel naquela terra, que foi Rúben e dormiu com Bila a concubina de seu pai; o qual chegou a entender Israel. Agora bem, os filhos de Israel foram doze:

And it came to pass while Israel inhabited that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father’s concubine; and Israel heard of it. And so the Sons of Israel came to be Twelve.

23 Os filhos de Lia: Rúben o primogênito de Jacó, e Simeão, e Levi, e Judá, e Issacar, e Zebulom.

The sons of Leah, the firstborn of Jacob, Reuben, —And Simeon and Levi and Judah, and Issachar and Zebulon:

24 Os filhos de Raquel: José, e Benjamim.

The sons of Rachel, Joseph and Benjamin:

25 E os filhos de Bila, serva de Raquel: Dã, e Naftali.

And the sons of Bilhah, handmaid of Rachel, Dan, and Naphtali:

26 E os filhos de Zilpa, serva de Lia: Gade, e Aser. Estes foram os filhos de Jacó, que lhe nasceram em Padã-Arã.

And the sons of Zilpah, handmaid of Leah, Gad and Asher: These, are the sons of Jacob, who were born to him, in Padan-aram.

27 E veio Jacó a Isaque seu pai a Manre, à cidade de Arba, que é Hebrom, onde habitaram Abraão e Isaque.

Then came Jacob unto Isaac his father, to Mamre, the city of Arba, —the same, is Hebron, where had sojourned Abraham and Isaac.

28 E foram os dias de Isaque cento e oitenta anos.

And the days of Isaac came to be—a hundred and eighty years.

29 E expirou Isaque, e morreu, e foi recolhido a seus povos, velho e farto de dias; e sepultaram-no Esaú e Jacó seus filhos.

And Isaac breathed his last, and died and was added unto his people, old, and satisfied with days, —and Esau and Jacob his sons buried him.
