Gênesis 26

1 E houve fome na terra, além da primeira fome que foi nos dias de Abraão: e foi-se Isaque a Abimeleque rei dos filisteus, em Gerar.

And there was a famine in the lande besides the first famine that was in the dayes of Abraham. Wherefore Izhak went to Abimelech King of the Philistims vnto Gerar.

2 E apareceu-lhe o SENHOR, e disse-lhe: Não desças ao Egito: habita na terra que eu te disser;

For the Lord appeared vnto him, and sayde, Goe not downe into Egypt, but abide in the land which I shall shewe vnto thee.

3 Habita nesta terra, e serei contigo, e te abençoarei; porque a ti e à tua descendência darei todas estas terras, e confirmarei o juramento que jurei a Abraão teu pai:

Dwell in this lande, and I will be with thee, and will blesse thee: for to thee, and to thy seede I will giue all these countreys: and I will performe the othe which I sware vnto Abraham thy father.

4 E multiplicarei tua descendência como as estrelas do céu, e darei à tua descendência todas estas terras; e todas as nações da terra serão abençoadas em tua descendência.

Also I wil cause thy seede to multiply as the starres of heauen, and will giue vnto thy seede all these countreys: and in thy seede shall all the nations of the earth be blessed,

5 Porquanto ouviu Abraão minha voz, e guardou meu preceito, meus mandamentos, meus estatutos e minhas leis.

Because that Abraham obeyed my voyce and kept mine ordinance, my commandements, my statutes, and my Lawes.

6 Habitou, pois, Isaque em Gerar.

So Izhak dwelt in Gerar.

7 E os homens daquele lugar lhe perguntaram acerca de sua mulher; e ele respondeu: É minha irmã; porque teve medo de dizer: É minha mulher; que talvez, disse, os homens do lugar me matem por causa de Rebeca; porque era de belo aspecto.

And the men of the place asked him of his wife, and he sayd, She is my sister: for he feared to say, She is my wife, least, sayde he, the men of the place shoulde kill me, because of Rebekah: for she was beautifull to the eye.

8 E sucedeu que, depois que ele esteve ali muitos dias, Abimeleque, rei dos filisteus, olhando por uma janela, viu a Isaque que acariciava Rebeca sua mulher.

So after hee had bene there long time, Abimelech King of the Philistims looked out at a windowe, and loe, he sawe Izhak sporting with Rebekah his wife.

9 E chamou Abimeleque a Isaque, e disse: Eis que ela é certamente tua mulher: como, pois, disseste: É minha irmã? E Isaque lhe respondeu: Porque disse: Talvez eu morra por causa dela.

Then Abimelech called Izhak, and sayde, Loe, shee is of a suertie thy wife, and why saydest thou, She is my sister? To whom Izhak answered, Because I thought this, It may be that I shall dye for her.

10 E Abimeleque disse: Por que nos fizeste isto? Por pouco haveria dormido alguém do povo com tua mulher, e haverias trazido sobre nós o pecado.

Then Abimelech said, Why hast thou done this vnto vs? one of the people had almost lien by thy wife, so shouldest thou haue brought sinne vpon vs.

11 Então Abimeleque mandou a todo o povo, dizendo: O que tocar a este homem ou a sua mulher certamente morrerá.

Then Abimelech charged all his people, saying, He that toucheth this man, or his wife, shall die the death.

12 E semeou Isaque naquela terra, e achou aquele ano cem por um: e o SENHOR o abençoou.

Afterwarde Izhak sowed in that lande, and founde in the same yeere an hundreth folde by estimation: and so the Lord blessed him.

13 E o homem se engrandeceu, e foi engrandecendo-se cada vez mais, até fazer-se muito poderoso:

And the man waxed mightie, and stil increased, till he was exceeding great,

14 E teve rebanho de ovelhas, e rebanho de vacas, e grande número de servos; e os filisteus tiveram inveja dele.

For he had flockes of sheepe, and heards of cattell, and a mightie housholde: therefore the Philistims had enuy at him.

15 E todos os poços que os criados de Abraão seu pai haviam aberto em seus dias, os filisteus os haviam fechado e enchido da terra.

In so much that the Philistims stopped and filled vp with earth all the welles, which his fathers seruantes digged in his father Abrahams time.

16 E disse Abimeleque a Isaque: Aparta-te de nós, porque muito mais poderoso que nós te fizeste.

Then Abimelech sayde vnto Izhak, Get thee from vs, for thou art mightier then wee a great deale.

17 E Isaque se foi dali; e assentou suas tendas no vale de Gerar, e habitou ali.

Therefore Izhak departed thence and pitched his tent in the valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.

18 E voltou a abrir Isaque os poços de água que haviam aberto nos dias de Abraão seu pai, e que os filisteus haviam fechado, depois de Abraão ter morrido; e chamou-os pelos nomes que seu pai os havia chamado.

And Izhak returning, digged the welles of water, which they had digged in the dayes of Abraham his father: for the Philistims had stopped them after the death of Abraham, and hee gaue them the same names, which his father gaue them.

19 E os servos de Isaque cavaram no vale, e acharam ali um poço de águas vivas.

Izhaks seruantes then digged in the valley, and found there a well of liuing water.

20 E os pastores de Gerar brigaram com os pastores de Isaque, dizendo: A água é nossa: por isso chamou o nome do poço Eseque, porque haviam brigado com ele.

But the herdmen of Gerar did striue with Izhaks herdmen, saying, The water is ours: therefore called he the name of the well Esek, because they were at strife with him.

21 E abriram outro poço, e também brigaram sobre ele: e chamou seu nome Sitna.

Afterwarde they digged another well, and stroue for that also, and he called the name of it Sitnah.

22 E apartou-se dali, e abriu outro poço, e não brigaram sobre ele: e chamou seu nome Reobote, e disse: Porque agora nos fez alargar o SENHOR e frutificaremos na terra.

Then he remoued thence, and digged an other well, for the which they stroue not: therefore called hee the name of it Rehoboth, and sayde, Because the Lord hath nowe made vs roome, we shall increase vpon the earth.

23 E dali subiu a Berseba.

So he went vp thence to Beer-sheba.

24 E apareceu-lhe o SENHOR aquela noite, e disse: Eu sou o Deus de Abraão teu pai: não temas, que eu sou contigo, e eu te abençoarei, e multiplicarei tua descendência por causa do meu servo Abraão.

And the Lord appeared vnto him the same night, and sayde, I am the God of Abraham thy father: feare not, for I am with thee, and wil blesse thee, and will multiplie thy seede for my seruant Abrahams sake.

25 E edificou ali um altar, e invocou o nome do SENHOR, e estendeu ali sua tenda: e abriram ali os servos de Isaque um poço.

Then he builte an altar there, and called vpon the Name of the Lord, and there spred his tent: where also Izhaks seruauntes digged a well.

26 E Abimeleque veio a ele desde Gerar, e Auzate, amigo seu, e Ficol, capitão de seu exército.

Then came Abimelech to him from Gerar, and Ahuzzath one of his friendes, and Phichol the captaine of his armie.

27 E disse-lhes Isaque: Por que vindes a mim, pois que haveis me odiado, e me expulsastes dentre vós?

To whom Izhak sayd, Wherefore come ye to me, seeing ye hate mee and haue put mee away from you?

28 E eles responderam: Vimos que o SENHOR é contigo; e dissemos: Haja agora juramento entre nós, entre nós e ti, e faremos aliança contigo:

Who answered, Wee sawe certainely that the Lord was with thee, and wee thought thus, Let there be nowe an othe betweene vs, euen betweene vs and thee, and let vs make a couenant with thee.

29 Que não nos faças mal, como nós não te tocamos, y como somente te fizemos bem, e te enviamos em paz: tu agora, bendito do SENHOR.

If thou shalt do vs no hurt, as we haue not touched thee, and as we haue done vnto thee nothing but good, and sent thee away in peace: thou nowe, the blessed of the Lord, doe this.

30 Então ele lhes fez banquete, e comeram e beberam.

Then hee made them a feast, and they dyd eate and drinke.

31 E se levantaram de madrugada, e juraram um ao outro; e Isaque os despediu, e eles se partiram dele em paz.

And they rose vp betimes in the morning, and sware one to another: then Izhak let them go, and they departed from him in peace.

32 E naquele dia sucedeu que vieram os criados de Isaque, e deram-lhe notícias acerca do poço que haviam aberto, e lhe disseram: Achamos água.

And that same day Izhaks seruantes came and tolde him of a well, which they had digged, and said vnto him, We haue found water.

33 E chamou-o Seba: por cuja causa o nome daquela cidade é Berseba até hoje.

So hee called it Shibah: therefore the name of the citie is called Beer-sheba vnto this day.

34 E quando Esaú foi de quarenta anos, tomou por mulher a Judite filha de Beeri heteu, e a Basemate filha de Elom heteu:

Nowe when Esau was fourtie yeere olde, he tooke to wife Iudith, the daughter of Beeri an Hittite, and Bashemath the daughter of Elon an Hittite also.

35 E foram amargura de espírito a Isaque e a Rebeca.

And they were a griefe of minde to Izhak and to Rebekah.
