Gênesis 15

1 Depois destas coisas a palavra do SENHOR veio a Abrão em visão, dizendo: Não temas, Abrão; eu sou o teu escudo; a tua recompensa será muito grande.

After these things, the worde of the Lord came vnto Abram in a vision, saying, Feare not, Abram, I am thy buckler, and thine exceeding great reward.

2 Abrão respondeu: Senhor DEUS, que me darás, sendo que não tenho filho, e o herdeiro da minha casa é Eliézer de Damasco?

And Abram said, O Lord God, what wilt thou giue me, seeing I goe childlesse, and the steward of mine house is this Eliezer of Damascus?

3 Disse mais Abrão: Eis que não me deste descendência, e eis que meu herdeiro é um nascido em minha casa.

Againe Abram saide, Beholde, to me thou hast giuen no seede: wherefore loe, a seruant of mine house shalbe mine heire.

4 E logo a palavra do SENHOR veio a ele dizendo: Não esse não herdará de ti, mas sim o que sairá de tuas entranhas será o que de ti herdará.

Then beholde, the worde of the Lord came vnto him, saying, This man shall not be thine heire, but one that shall come out of thine owne bowels, he shalbe thine heire.

5 E tirou-lhe fora, e disse: Olha agora aos céus, e conta as estrelas, se as podes contar. E lhe disse: Assim será tua descendência.

Moreouer he brought him forth and said, Looke vp nowe vnto heauen, and tell ye starres, if thou be able to number them: and he said vnto him, So shall thy seede be.

6 E creu ao SENHOR, e contou-lhe por justiça.

And Abram beleeued the Lord, and he counted that to him for righteousnesse.

7 E disse-lhe: Eu sou o SENHOR, que te tirei de Ur dos caldeus, para dar-te a herdar esta terra.

Againe he saide vnto him, I am the Lord, that brought thee out of Vr of the Caldees, to giue thee this land to inherite it.

8 E ele respondeu: Senhor DEUS, com que saberei que a vou herdar?

And he said, O Lord God, whereby shall I knowe that I shall inherite it?

9 E lhe disse: Separa-me uma bezerra de três anos, e uma cabra de três anos, e um carneiro de três anos, uma rolinha também, e um pombinho.

Then he said vnto him, Take me an heifer of three yeeres olde, and a shee goate of three yeeres olde, and a ramme of three yeeres olde, a turtle doue also and a pigeon.

10 E tomou ele todas estas coisas, e partiu-as pela metade, e pôs cada metade uma em frente de outra; mas não partiu as aves.

So he tooke all these vnto him, and deuided them into the middes, and laid euery piece one against an other: but the birdes deuided he not.

11 E desciam aves sobre os corpos mortos, e enxotava-as Abrão.

Then foules fell on the carkases, and Abram droue them away.

12 Mas ao pôr do sol veio o sono a Abrão, e eis que o pavor de uma grande escuridão caiu sobre ele.

And when the sunne went downe, there fell an heauie sleepe vpon Abram: and loe, a very fearefull darkenes fell vpon him.

13 Então disse a Abrão: Tem certeza que a tua descendência será peregrina em terra que não é sua, e serão escravizados e afligidos por quatrocentos anos.

Then he saide to Abram, Knowe for a suretie, that thy seede shalbe a stranger in a land, that is not theirs, foure hundreth yeeres, and shall serue them: and they shall intreate them euill.

14 Mas também a nação a quem servirão, eu julgarei; e depois disto sairão com grande riqueza.

Notwithstanding the nation, whom they shall serue, will I iudge: and afterward shall they come out with great substance.

15 Tu, porém, virás aos teus pais em paz, e serás sepultado em boa velhice.

But thou shalt goe vnto thy fathers in peace, and shalt be buried in a good age.

16 E na quarta geração voltarão para cá; porque ainda não está completa a maldade dos amorreus até aqui.

And in the fourth generation they shall come hither againe: for the wickednes of the Amorites is not yet full.

17 E sucedeu que, depois de posto o sol, e já estando escuro, apareceu um fogo fumegando, e uma tocha de fogo que passou por entre os animais divididos.

Also when the sunne went downe, there was a darkenes: and behold, a smoking fornace, and a firebrand, which went betweene those pieces.

18 Naquele dia fez o SENHOR um pacto com Abrão dizendo: À tua descendência darei esta terra desde o rio do Egito até o rio grande, o rio Eufrates;

In that same day the Lord made a couenant with Abram, saying, Vnto thy seede haue I giuen this lande, from the riuer of Egypt vnto the great riuer, the riuer Euphrates.

19 Os queneus, e os quenezeus, e os cadmoneus,

The Kenites, and the Kenizites, and the Kadmonites,

20 E os heteus, e os perizeus, e os refains,

And the Hittites, and the Perizzites, and the Rephaims,

21 E os amorreus, e os cananeus, e os girgaseus, e os jebuseus.

The Amorites also, and the Canaanites, and the Girgashites, and the Iebusites.
