Gálatas 1
1 Paulo, apóstolo (não da parte dos seres humanos, nem por meio de homem algum, mas sim por Jesus Cristo, e por Deus Pai, que o ressuscitou dos mortos),
Paul, an apostle, (not from men, nor by man, but by Jesus Christ, and God the Father, who raised him from the dead, )
2 e todos os irmãos que estão comigo, para as igrejas da Galácia.
and all the brethren that are with me, to the churches of Galatia:
3 Graça seja convosco, e também a paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo,
grace be to you, and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,
4 que deu a si mesmo pelos nossos pecados, para nos tirar da presente era maligna, conforme a vontade do nosso Deus e Pai, (aiōn g165)
who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father, (aiōn g165)
to whom be glory from age to age. Amen. (aiōn g165)
6 Admiro-me de que tão rapidamente desviastes daquele que vos chamou na graça de Cristo, em troca de outro evangelho.
I am astonished that you are so soon turning away from him that called you into the grace of Christ, to another gospel:
7 Não que haja outro [evangelho], porém há alguns que vos inquietam, e querem perverter o Evangelho de Cristo.
which is nothing else than that there are some who trouble you, and are determined to pervert the gospel of the Christ.
8 Porém, ainda que nós mesmos, ou um anjo do céu vos anuncie outro evangelho além do que já vos anunciamos, maldito seja.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach to you any other gospel than that which we have preached, let him be accursed.
9 Como já havíamos dito, volto também agora a dizer: se alguém vos anunciar outro evangelho além do que já recebestes, maldito seja.
As we said before, so even now I say again, if any one preaches to you any other gospel than that which you have received, let him be accursed.
10 Pois agora estou buscando a aprovação das pessoas, ou a de Deus? Ou procuro agradar a pessoas? Se ainda tentasse agradar a pessoas, eu não seria servo de Cristo.
For, do I now seek the favor of men, or of God? or do I strive to please men? If, indeed, I would still please men, I should not be the servant of Christ.
11 Pois faço-vos saber, irmãos, que o Evangelho anunciado por mim não se baseia em pessoas;
But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which is preached by me, is not according to man:
12 pois não o recebi, nem aprendi de ser humano algum, mas sim pela revelação de Jesus Cristo.
for neither did I receive it from man, nor was it taught me, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
13 Pois já ouvistes da minha conduta no judaísmo, como em excesso eu perseguia e tentava destruir a Igreja de Deus;
For you have heard of my former mode of life in Judaism, that I greatly persecuted the church of God, and laid it waste;
14 e [como] no judaísmo eu era mais avançado que muitos de minha idade em minha nação, e era extremamente zeloso das tradições de meus pais.
and I surpassed in Judaism many of my own age and nation, being more exceedingly zealous for the tradition of my fathers.
15 Mas quando aquele que me separou desde o ventre da minha mãe, e por sua graça me chamou, se agradou
But when God, who chose me from my mother’s womb, and called me by his grace, was pleased
16 de revelar o seu Filho em mim, para eu evangelizar os gentios, de imediato, não fui pedir conselho com pessoa alguma;
to reveal his Sou in me, that I might preach him among the Gentiles, I at once declined all conference with flesh and blood:
17 nem subi a Jerusalém para os que já eram apóstolos antes de mim; em vez disso, parti para a Arábia, e voltei outra vez a Damasco.
nor did I go up to Jerusalem, to those who were apostles before me; but I went away into Arabia, and then returned to Damascus.
18 Então, depois de três anos, subi a Jerusalém para visitar Cefas, e estive com ele por quinze dias.
Then, after three years, I went up to Jerusalem, in order to become personally acquainted with Peter; and I remained with him fifteen days:
19 E vi nenhum outro dos apóstolos, a não ser Tiago, o irmão do Senhor.
but of the apostles I saw no other, but James the brother of the Lord.
20 Ora, das coisas que vos escrevo, eis que, diante de Deus, não estou mentindo.
With respect to the things which I now write to you, behold, before God I lie not.
21 Depois fui para as regiões da Síria e da Cilícia.
Then, I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia:
22 Eu, porém, não era conhecido de rosto pelas igrejas da Judeia que estão em Cristo;
but I was not known, in person, to the churches of Judea which are in Christ.
23 mas somente haviam ouvido que “Aquele que antes nos perseguia agora anuncia a fé que antes tentava destruir”.
They had heard only that he who formerly persecuted us was now preaching the faith which he once destroyed.
24 E glorificavam a Deus por causa de mim.
And they glorified God in me.
