Êxodo 19
1 Ao mês terceiro da saída dos filhos de Israel da terra do Egito, naquele dia vieram ao deserto de Sinai.
In the third month after the sons of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai.
2 Porque partiram de Refidim, e chegaram ao deserto de Sinai, e assentaram no deserto; e acampou ali Israel diante do monte.
And when they were departed from Rephidim, and came to the wilderness of Sinai, they encamped in the wilderness, and there Israel encamped before the mount.
3 E Moisés subiu a Deus; e o SENHOR o chamou desde o monte, dizendo: Assim dirás à casa de Jacó, e anunciarás aos filhos de Israel:
And Moses went up to God. And Jehovah called to him out of the mountain, saying, Thus thou shall say to the house of Jacob, and tell the sons of Israel:
4 Vós vistes o que fiz aos egípcios, e como vos tomei sobre asas de águas, e vos trouxe a mim.
Ye have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles' wings, and brought you to myself.
5 Agora pois, se deres ouvido à minha voz, e guardardes meu pacto, vós sereis meu especial tesouro sobre todos os povos; porque minha é toda a terra.
Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be my own possession from among all peoples, for all the earth is mine,
6 E vós sereis meu reino de sacerdotes, e gente santa. Estas são as palavras que dirás aos filhos de Israel.
and ye shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation. These are the words which thou shall speak to the sons of Israel.
7 Então veio Moisés, e chamou aos anciãos do povo, e propôs em presença deles todas estas palavras que o SENHOR lhe havia mandado.
And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Jehovah commanded him.
8 E todo o povo respondeu em unidade, e disseram: Tudo o que o SENHOR disse faremos. E Moisés referiu as palavras do povo ao SENHOR.
And all the people answered together, and said, All that Jehovah has spoken we will do. And Moses reported the words of the people to Jehovah.
9 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Eis que, eu venho a ti em uma nuvem espessa, para que o povo ouça enquanto eu falo contigo, e também para que te creiam para sempre. E Moisés anunciou as palavras do povo ao SENHOR.
And Jehovah said to Moses, Lo, I come to thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and may also believe thee forever. And Moses told the words of the people to Jehovah.
10 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Vai ao povo, e santifica-os hoje e amanhã, e lavem suas roupas;
And Jehovah said to Moses, Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
11 E estejam prontos para o dia terceiro, porque ao terceiro dia o SENHOR descerá, à vista de todo o povo, sobre o monte de Sinai.
and be ready for the third day, for the third day Jehovah will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
12 E assinalarás termo ao povo em derredor, dizendo: Guardai-vos, não subais ao monte, nem toqueis a seu termo: qualquer um que tocar o monte, certamente morrerá:
And thou shall set bounds to the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye not go up onto the mount, or touch the border of it. Whoever touches the mount shall be surely put to death;
13 Não lhe tocará mão, mas será apedrejado ou flechado; seja animal ou seja homem, não viverá. Em havendo soado longamente a trombeta, subirão ao monte.
no hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through, whether it be beast or man, he shall not live. When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mount.
14 E desceu Moisés do monte ao povo, e santificou ao povo; e lavaram suas roupas.
And Moses went down from the mount to the people, and sanctified the people, and they washed their garments.
15 E disse ao povo: Estai prontos para o terceiro dia; não chegueis a mulher.
And he said to the people, Be ready for the third day. Come not near a woman.
16 E aconteceu ao terceiro dia quando veio a manhã, que vieram trovões e relâmpagos, e espessa nuvem sobre o monte, e som de trombeta muito forte; e estremeceu-se todo o povo que estava no acampamento.
And it came to pass on the third day, when it was morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of an exceedingly loud trumpet. And all the people who were in the camp trembled.
17 E Moisés tirou do acampamento ao povo a receber a Deus; e puseram-se ao abaixo do monte.
And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet God, and they stood at the lower part of the mount.
18 E todo o monte de Sinai fumegava, porque o SENHOR havia descido sobre ele em fogo: e a fumaça dele subia como a fumaça de um forno, e todo o monte se estremeceu em grande maneira.
And mount Sinai, the whole of it, smoked, because Jehovah descended upon it in fire, and the smoke of it ascended as the smoke of a furnace. And the whole mount quaked greatly.
19 E o som da trombeta ia fortalecendo-se em extremo: Moisés falava, e Deus lhe respondia em voz.
And when the voice of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
20 E desceu o SENHOR sobre o monte de Sinai, sobre o cume do monte: e chamou o SENHOR a Moisés ao cume do monte, e Moisés subiu.
And Jehovah came down upon mount Sinai, to the top of the mount. And Jehovah called Moses to the top of the mount, and Moses went up.
21 E o SENHOR disse a Moisés: Desce, exige ao povo que não ultrapassem o termo para ver ao SENHOR, para que não caia multidão deles.
And Jehovah said to Moses, Go down, command the people, lest they break through to Jehovah to gaze, and many of them perish.
22 E também os sacerdotes que se achegam ao SENHOR, se santifiquem, para que o SENHOR não faça neles dano.
And let the priests also, who come near to Jehovah, sanctify themselves, lest Jehovah break forth upon them.
23 E Moisés disse ao SENHOR: O povo não poderá subir ao monte de Sinai, porque tu nos hás exigiste dizendo: Assinala termos ao monte, e santifica-o.
And Moses said to Jehovah, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai, for thou commanded us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.
24 E o SENHOR lhe disse: Vai, desce, e subirás tu, e Arão contigo: mas os sacerdotes e o povo não ultrapassem o termo para subir ao SENHOR, para que não faça neles dano.
And Jehovah said to him, Go, get thee down. And thou shall come up, thou, and Aaron with thee, but do not let the priests and the people break through to come up to Jehovah, lest he break forth upon them.
25 Então Moisés desceu ao povo e falou com eles.
So Moses went down to the people, and told them.
