Deuteronômio 6
1 Estes, pois são os mandamentos, estatutos, e regulamentos que o SENHOR vosso Deus mandou que vos ensinasse, para que os ponhais por obra na terra à qual passais vós para possuí-la:
These are the commandments and statutes and ordinances that the LORD your God has instructed me to teach you to follow in the land that you are about to enter and possess,
2 Para que temas ao SENHOR teu Deus, guardando todos os seus estatutos e seus mandamentos que eu te mando, tu, e teu filho, e o filho de teu filho, todos os dias de tua vida, e que teus dias sejam prolongados.
so that you and your children and grandchildren may fear the LORD your God all the days of your lives by keeping all His statutes and commandments that I give you, and so that your days may be prolonged.
3 Ouve, pois, ó Israel, e cuida de praticá-los, para que te vá bem, e sejais multiplicados, como te disse o SENHOR o Deus de teus pais, na terra que destila leite e mel.
Hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe them, so that you may prosper and multiply greatly in a land flowing with milk and honey, just as the LORD, the God of your fathers, has promised you.
4 Ouve, Israel: o SENHOR nosso Deus, o SENHOR um é:
Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is One.
5 E Amarás ao SENHOR teu Deus de todo teu coração, e de toda tua alma, e com todo tua poder.
And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
6 E estas palavras que eu te mando hoje, estarão sobre teu coração:
These words I am commanding you today are to be upon your hearts.
7 E as repetirás a teus filhos, e falarás delas estando em tua casa, e andando pelo caminho, e ao deitar-te, e quando te levantes:
And you shall teach them diligently to your children and speak of them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.
8 E hás de atá-las por sinal em tua mão, e estarão por frontais entre teus olhos:
Tie them as reminders on your hands and bind them on your foreheads.
9 E as escreverás nos umbrais de tua casa, e em tuas entradas.
Write them on the doorposts of your houses and on your gates.
10 E será, quando o SENHOR teu Deus te houver introduzido na terra que jurou a teus pais Abraão, Isaque, e Jacó, que te daria; em cidades grandes e boas que tu não edificaste,
And when the LORD your God brings you into the land He swore to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, that He would give you—a land with great and splendid cities that you did not build,
11 E casas cheias de todo ainda que tu não encheste, e cisternas cavadas, que tu não cavaste, vinhas e olivais que não plantaste: logo que comeres e te fartares,
with houses full of every good thing with which you did not fill them, with wells that you did not dig, and with vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant—and when you eat and are satisfied,
12 Guarda-te que não te esqueças do SENHOR, que te tirou da terra do Egito, de casa de servos.
be careful not to forget the LORD who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery.
13 Ao SENHOR teu Deus temerás, e a ele servirás, e por seu nome jurarás.
Fear the LORD your God, serve Him only, and take your oaths in His name.
14 Não andareis após deuses alheios, dos deuses dos povos que estão em vossos entornos:
Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you.
15 Porque o Deus zeloso, o SENHOR teu Deus, em meio de ti está; para que não se inflame o furor do SENHOR teu Deus contra ti, e te destrua de sobre a face da terra.
For the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God. Otherwise the anger of the LORD your God will be kindled against you, and He will wipe you off the face of the earth.
16 Não tentareis ao SENHOR vosso Deus, como o tentastes em Massá.
Do not test the LORD your God as you tested Him at Massah.
17 Guardai cuidadosamente os mandamentos do SENHOR vosso Deus, e seus testemunhos, e seus estatutos, que te mandou.
You are to diligently keep the commandments of the LORD your God and the testimonies and statutes He has given you.
18 E farás o correto e bom aos olhos do SENHOR, para que te vá bem, e entres e possuas a boa terra que o SENHOR jurou a teus pais;
Do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, so that it may be well with you and that you may enter and possess the good land that the LORD your God swore to give your fathers,
19 Para que ele expulse a todos os seus inimigos de diante de ti, como o SENHOR disse.
driving out all your enemies before you, as the LORD has said.
20 Quando amanhã te perguntar teu filho, dizendo: Que significam os testemunhos, e estatutos, e regulamentos, que o SENHOR nosso Deus vos mandou?
In the future, when your son asks, “What is the meaning of the decrees and statutes and ordinances that the LORD our God has commanded you?”
21 Então dirás a teu filho: Nós éramos servos de Faraó no Egito, e o SENHOR tirou do Egito com mão forte;
then you are to tell him, “We were slaves of Pharaoh in Egypt, but the LORD brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand.
22 E deu o SENHOR sinais e milagres grandes e nocivos no Egito, sobre Faraó e sobre toda sua casa, diante de nossos olhos;
Before our eyes the LORD inflicted great and devastating signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his household.
23 E tirou-nos dali, para trazer-nos e dar-nos a terra que jurou a nossos pais;
But He brought us out from there to lead us in and give us the land that He had sworn to our fathers.
24 E mandou-nos o SENHOR que executássemos todos estes estatutos, e que temamos ao SENHOR nosso Deus, para que nos vá bem todos os dias, e para que nos dê vida, como hoje.
And the LORD commanded us to observe all these statutes and to fear the LORD our God, that we may always be prosperous and preserved, as we are to this day.
25 E teremos justiça quando cuidarmos de pôr por obra todos estes mandamentos diante do SENHOR nosso Deus, como ele nos mandou.
And if we are careful to observe every one of these commandments before the LORD our God, as He has commanded us, then that will be our righteousness.”
