Deuteronômio 14

1 Filhos sois do SENHOR vosso Deus: não vos cortareis, nem poreis calva sobre vossos olhos por morto;

Ye are sons of Jehovah your God: ye shall not cut yourselves, nor make any baldness between your eyes for a dead person.

2 Porque és povo santo ao SENHOR teu Deus, e o SENHOR te escolheu para que lhe sejas um povo singular dentre todos os povos que estão sobre a face da terra.

For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God, and thee hath Jehovah chosen for a people of possession unto himself, out of all the peoples that are upon the face of the earth.

3 Nada abominável comerás.

Thou shalt not eat any abominable thing.

4 Estes são os animais que comereis: o boi, a ovelha, e a cabra,

These are the beasts which ye shall eat: the ox, the sheep, and the goat;

5 O cervo, o corço, e o búfalo, e o bode selvagem, e o antílope, e boi selvagem, e cabra selvagem.

the hart, and the gazelle, and the stag, and the wild goat, and the dishon and the oryx, and the wild sheep.

6 E todo animal de unhas, que tem brecha de duas unhas, e que ruminar entre os animais, esse comereis.

And every beast that hath cloven hoofs, and the feet quite split open into double hoofs, [and] which cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that ye shall eat.

7 Porém estes não comereis dos que ruminam, ou têm unha fendida: camelo, e lebre, e coelho, porque ruminam, mas não têm unha fendida, vos serão impuros;

Only these ye shall not eat of those that chew the cud, or of those with hoofs cloven and split open: the camel, and the hare, and the rock-badger; for they chew the cud, but have not cloven hoofs — they shall be unclean unto you;

8 Nem porco: porque tem unha fendida, mas não rumina, vos será impuro. Da carne destes não comereis, nem tocareis seus corpos mortos.

and the swine, for it hath cloven hoofs, yet cheweth not the cud — it shall be unclean unto you. Of their flesh shall ye not eat, and their carcase shall ye not touch.

9 Isto comereis de tudo o que está na água: todo o que tem barbatana e escama comereis;

These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales shall ye eat;

10 Mas todo o que não tiver barbatana e escama, não comereis: impuro vos será.

but whatsoever hath not fins and scales ye shall not eat: it shall be unclean unto you.

11 Toda ave limpa comereis.

All clean birds shall ye eat.

12 E estas são das que não comereis: a água, e o quebra-ossos, e o esmerilhão,

But these are they of which ye shall not eat: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the sea-eagle,

13 E o milhafre, e o abutre, e o falcão segundo sua espécie,

and the falcon, and the kite, and the black kite after its kind;

14 E todo corvo segundo sua espécie,

and every raven after its kind;

15 E o avestruz, e a coruja, e a gaivota, e o gavião segundo sua espécie,

and the female ostrich, and the male ostrich, and the sea-gull, and the hawk after its kind;

16 E o mocho, e o corujão, e a coruja-branca,

the owl, and the ibis and the swan,

17 E o pelicano, e o gavião-pescador, e o corvo-marinho,

and the pelican, and the carrion vulture, and the gannet,

18 E a cegonha, e a garça segundo sua espécie, e a poupa, e o morcego.

and the stork, and the heron after its kind, and the hoopoe, and the bat.

19 E todo inseto de asas vos será impuro: não se comerá.

And every winged crawling thing shall be unclean unto you; they shall not be eaten.

20 Toda ave limpa comereis.

All clean fowls shall ye eat.

21 Nenhuma coisa morta comereis: ao estrangeiro que está em tuas povoações a darás, e ele a comerá: ou vende-a ao estrangeiro; porque tu és povo santo ao SENHOR teu Deus. Não cozerás o cabrito no leite de sua mãe.

Ye shall eat of no carcase; thou shalt give it unto the stranger that is within thy gates, that he may eat it, or sell it unto a foreigner; for thou art a holy people to Jehovah thy God. Thou shalt not boil a kid in its mother's milk.

22 Indispensavelmente dizimarás todo o produto de tua semente, que render o campo cada ano.

Thou shalt truly tithe all the increase of thy seed, the produce of the field, year by year.

23 E comerás diante do SENHOR teu Deus no lugar que ele escolher para fazer habitar ali seu nome, o dízimo de teu grão, de teu vinho, e de teu azeite, e os primogênitos de tuas manadas, e de tuas gados, para que aprendas a temer ao SENHOR teu Deus todos os dias.

And thou shalt eat before Jehovah thy God, in the place which he will choose to cause his name to dwell there, the tithe of thy corn, of thy new wine, and of thine oil, and the firstlings of thy herds and of thy flocks; that thou mayest learn to fear Jehovah thy God continually.

24 E se o caminho for tão longo que tu não possas levá-lo por ele, por estar longe de ti o lugar que o SENHOR teu Deus houver escolhido para pôr nele seu nome, quando o SENHOR teu Deus te abençoar,

And if the way be too long for thee, so that thou art not able to carry it, because the place is too far from thee, which Jehovah thy God will choose to set his name there, when Jehovah thy God blesseth thee;

25 Então o venderás, e atarás o dinheiro em tua mão, e virás ao lugar que o SENHOR teu Deus escolher;

then shalt thou give it for money, and bind the money together in thy hand, and go to the place which Jehovah thy God will choose,

26 E darás o dinheiro por tudo o que desejar tua alma, por vacas, ou por ovelhas, ou por vinho, ou por bebida forte, ou por qualquer coisa que tua alma te pedir: e comerás ali diante do SENHOR teu Deus, e te alegrarás tu e tua família.

and thou shalt give the money for whatever thy soul desireth, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for strong drink, or for whatever thy soul asketh of thee; and thou shalt eat there before Jehovah thy God, and thou shalt rejoice, thou, and thy house.

27 E não desampararás ao levita que habitar em tuas povoações; porque não tem parte nem herança contigo.

And thou shalt not forsake the Levite that is within thy gates; for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee.

28 Ao fim de cada três anos tirarás todo o dízimo de teus produtos daquele ano, e o guardarás em tuas cidades:

At the end of three years thou shalt bring forth all the tithe of thine increase the same year, and shalt lay it up within thy gates;

29 E virá o levita, que não tem parte nem herança contigo, e o estrangeiro, e o órfão, e a viúva, que houver em tuas povoações, e comerão e serão saciados; para que o SENHOR teu Deus te abençoe em toda obra de tuas mãos que fizeres.

and the Levite — for he hath no portion nor inheritance with thee — and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within thy gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Jehovah thy God may bless thee in all the work of thy hand which thou doest.
