Deuteronômio 13
1 Quando se levantar em meio de ti profeta, ou sonhador de sonhos, e te der sinal ou prodígio,
When there shall arise in thy midst—a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, —and he shall give unto thee a sign or a wonder;
2 E acontecer o sinal ou prodígio que ele te disse, dizendo: Vamos seguir deuses alheios, que não conheceste, e os sirvamos;
and the sign or the wonder shall come in, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, —Let us go after other gods, which ye know not and let us serve them
3 Não darás ouvido às palavras de tal profeta, nem ao tal sonhador de sonhos: porque o SENHOR vosso Deus vos prova, para saber se amais ao SENHOR vosso Deus com todo o vosso coração, e com toda vossa alma.
thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or unto that dreamer of dreams, —for Yahweh your God, is putting you to the proof, to know whether ye do love Yahweh your God, with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 Atrás do SENHOR vosso Deus andareis, e a ele temereis, e guardareis seus mandamentos, e escutareis sua voz, e a ele servireis, e a ele vos achegareis.
After Yahweh your God, shall ye walk And him, shall ye revere, —And his commandments, shall ye observe. And unto his voice, shall ye hearken, And him, shall ye serve And unto him, shall ye cleave.
5 E o tal profeta ou sonhador de sonhos, será morto; porquanto tratou de rebelião contra o SENHOR vosso Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egito, e te resgatou de casa de servos, e de tirar-te do caminho pelo que o SENHOR teu Deus te mandou que andasses; e assim tirarás o mal do meio de ti.
And that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death because he hath spoken revolt against Yahweh your God, —who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt and redeemed thee out of the house of servants, to seduce thee out of the way wherein Yahweh thy God hath commanded thee to walk, —so shalt thou consume the wicked thing out of thy midst.
6 Quando te incitar teu irmão, filho de tua mãe, ou teu filho, ou tua filha, ou a mulher de teu seio, ou teu amigo que seja como tua alma, dizendo em secreto: Vamos e sirvamos a deuses alheios, que nem tu nem teus pais conhecestes,
When thy brother—son of thine own mother or thine own son or thine own daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend who is as thine own soul, shall entice thee secretly, saying, —Let us go and serve other gods, whom thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7 Aos deuses dos povos que estão em vossos arredores próximo a ti, ou longe de ti, desde um fim da terra até o outro fim dela;
of the gods of the peoples who are round about you, who are near unto thee, or who are far off from thee, —from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth,
8 Não consentirás com ele, nem lhe darás ouvido; nem teu olho o perdoará, nem terás compaixão, nem o encobrirás:
thou shalt not consent unto him, neither shalt thou hearken unto him, —neither shall thine eye look with pity upon him, neither shalt thou spare—neither shalt thou conceal him;
9 Antes hás de matá-lo; tua mão será primeira sobre ele para matar-lhe, e depois a mão de todo o povo.
but thou shalt slay, him, thine own hand, shall be on him first, to put him to death, —and the hand of all the people afterwards.
10 E hás de apedrejá-lo com pedras, e morrerá; porquanto procurou desviar-te do SENHOR teu Deus, que te tirou da terra do Egito, de casa de servos:
And thou shalt stone him with stones that he die, —for he hath sought to seduce thee from Yahweh thy God, who brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of servants.
11 Para que todo Israel ouça, e tema, e não voltem a fazer coisa semelhante a esta má coisa em meio de ti.
And, all Israel, shall hear and fear, —and shall not again do according to this wickedness in thy midst.
12 Quando ouvires de alguma de tuas cidades que o SENHOR teu Deus te dá para que mores nelas, que se diz:
When thou shalt hear—in one of thy cities which Yahweh thy God is giving unto thee to dwell there—saying:
13 Homens, filhos de impiedade, saíram do meio de ti, que instigaram aos moradores de sua cidade, dizendo: Vamos e sirvamos a deuses alheios, que vós não conhecestes;
There have gone forth men sons of the Abandoned One, out of thy midst, and have seduced the inhabitants of their city, saying, —Let us go, and serve other gods which ye have not known;
14 Tu investigarás, e buscarás, e preguntarás com empenho; e se parecer verdade, coisa certo, que tal abominação se fez em meio de ti,
and thou shalt enquire, and search out, and ask diligently, —and lo! true—certain, is the thing, this abomination, hath been done, in thy midst,
15 Invariavelmente ferirás a fio de espada os moradores daquela cidade, destruindo-a contudo o que nela houver, e também seus animais a fio de espada.
then shalt thou smite, the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, devoting it to destruction, and all that is therein and the cattle thereof: with the edge of the sword, —
16 E juntarás todo o despojo dela em meio de sua praça, e consumirás com fogo a cidade e todo seu despojo, todo ele, ao SENHOR teu Deus: e será um amontoado para sempre: nunca mais se edificará.
and all the spoil thereof, shalt thou gather together into the midst of the broadway thereof, and shalt consume with fire the city and all the spoil thereof, every whit, unto Yahweh thy God, —and it shall be a heap unto times age-abiding, it shall be built no more.
17 E não se pegará algo a tua mão do anátema; porque o SENHOR se afaste do furor de sua ira, e te dê compaixão, e tenha misericórdia de ti, e te multiplique, como o jurou a teus pais,
So shall there not cleave to thy hand aught of the devoted thing, —that Yahweh may turn away, from the glow of his anger and grant thee compassion and have compassion upon thee and multiply thee, as he sware unto thy fathers;
18 Quando obedeceres à voz do SENHOR teu Deus, guardando todos os seus mandamentos que eu te prescrevo hoje, para fazer o correto aos olhos do SENHOR teu Deus.
so long as thou shalt hearken unto the voice of Yahweh thy God, to keep all his commandments, which I am commanding thee to-day, —to do what is right in the eyes of Yahweh thy God.
