Daniel 11

1 E eu, no primeiro ano de Dario o medo, estive para confortá-lo e fortalecê-lo.

I, therefore, in the first year of Darius the Mede, was at my station to strengthen and embolden him;

2 E agora eu te declararei a verdade. Eis que ainda haverá três reis na Pérsia, e o quarto acumulará mais riquezas que todos; e fortificando-se com suas riquezas, despertará a todos contra o reino da Grécia.

and, now, the truth, I will tell thee: —Lo! there are, yet three kings, to arise—belonging to Persia, and, the fourth, will amass greater riches than they all, and, when he hath strengthened himself in his riches, the whole, will stir up, the kingdom of Greece.

3 Depois se levantará um rei poderoso, que reinará com grande domínio, e fará conforme sua vontade.

And so a hero king, will arise, —and wield great authority, and do according to his own pleasure;

4 Mas quando ele estiver erguido, seu reino será quebrantado, e repartido nos quatro ventos do céu; porém não a seus descendentes, nem conforme seu domínio com que ele reinou; porque seu reino será arrancado, e será para outros fora destes.

but, when he hath arisen, his kingdom, shall be broken in pieces, and be divided, toward the four winds of the heavens, —but not to his own posterity, nor according to his own authority which he wielded, for his kingdom, shall be uprooted, even for others besides these.

5 E o rei do sul se fortalecerá; mas um de seus príncipes se fortalecerá mais que ele, e reinará; e seus domínio será um grande domínio.

But a king of the south, will become strong, even from among his rulers, —and will prevail against him, and have authority, a great authority, shall his authority be.

6 Mas ao fim de [alguns] anos eles se aliarão, e a filha do rei do sul virá ao rei do norte para fazer os acordos. Porém ela não poderá reter a força de seu poder; por isso nem ele, nem seu poder persistirá; porque ela será entregue, e os que a tiverem trazido, e seu pai, e ao que a fortalecia naqueles tempos.

And, at the end of years, they will league together, yea, the daughter of the king of the south, will go in unto the king of the north, to make peace, but she shall not retain strength of arm, neither shall he stand, nor his arm, but she shall be delivered up—she herself, and they who brought her in, and he who begat her, and he that strengthened her in the times.

7 Mas do renovo de suas raízes um se levantará em seu lugar; e virá com exército, e entrará na fortaleza do rei do norte, e agirá contra eles, e prevalecerá.

But one will stand up from the sprout of her roots, [in] his stead, —and he will enter the army, and enter into a fortress of the king of the north, and deal with them and shew himself strong;

8 E até seus deuses com seus príncipes, com seus vasos preciosos de prata e de ouro, levará cativos ao Egito; e por [alguns] anos ele deixará de atacar o rei do norte;

yea, even their gods, with their molten images, with their delightful vessels of silver and gold, with a host of captives, will he bring into Egypt, —and, he, will stand more, years, than the king of the north;

9 O qual virá ao reino o rei do sul, e voltará para sua terra.

so will the king of the south, enter into the kingdom, and then return unto his own soil.

10 Porém os filhos dele se agitarão [para a guerra], e ajuntarão uma multidão de grandes exércitos; e certamente avançará, inundará, e passará; e quando voltar, se agitará [em guerra] até sua fortaleza.

But, his sons, will rouse themselves to war, and gather together a multitude of large armies, but he will come on and on, and overflow and pass through, —and will return and wage war, up to his fortress.

11 Então o rei do sul se enfurecerá, e sairá, e lutará contra ele, o rei do norte; e mobiliza uma grande multidão, porém toda aquela multidão será entregue em sua mão.

Then will the king of the south, be enraged, and go forth and fight with him, with the king of the north, —and will raise a great multitude, but the multitude, will be delivered, into his hand.

12 Quando for perdida aquele multidão, seu coração se exaltará; e ainda que derrube muitos milhares; contudo não prevalecerá.

And, when he hath taken away the multitude, his heart, will be uplifted, —and he will cause tens of thousands to fall, but will not conquer.

13 E o rei do norte voltará, e porá em campo uma multidão maior que a primeira, e a fim do tempo de [alguns] anos avançará com grande exército e com muitos suprimentos.

Then will the king of the north again raise a multitude, greater than the first, —and, at the end of the times—some years, he will come on and on with a great army, and with great substance.

14 E naqueles tempos muitos se levantarão contra o rei do sul; e filhos dos violentos de teu povo se levantarão para confirmar a visão, e cairão.

And, in those times, many, will rise against the king of the south, —and, the sons of the oppressors of thy people, will exalt themselves to confirm the vision, but will be overthrown.

15 Então o rei do norte virá, e levantará cerco, e tomará a cidade forte; e os poderes do sul não poderão subsistir, nem os melhores de seu povo, nem haverá força que possa subsistir.

Then will come in the king of the north, and cast up a rampart, and capture a city of strongholds, —and, the arms of the south, will not rise, nor the people of his chosen ones, and there shall be no strength to rise.

16 E o que virá contra ele fará sua própria vontade, e não haverá quem possa subsistir diante dele; ele estará na terra gloriosa, e o poder de destruir estará em sua mão.

So shall he that cometh against him do according to his own pleasure, and, none, shall stand before him, —therefore will he take his stand in the beautiful land, and it will languish and be exhausted in his hand.

17 Ele decidirá vir com o poder de todo seu reino; e os corretos com ele, e [assim] fará; e lhe dará uma filha de mulheres para destruir [o reino]; mas ela não terá sucesso, nem será para proveito dele.

Then will he set his face to enter, with the might of all his kingdom, and, equitable terms with him, will make, —and, a daughter of women, will he give him to corrupt her, but she will not remain, nor, his, shall she become.

18 Depois virará seu rosto para as terras costeiras, e tomará muitas; mas um príncipe fará cessar sua humilhação por ele, e ainda fará tornar sobre ele sua humilhação.

Then will he turn his face to the Coastlands, and will capture many, —but a commander, will bring to an end, his reproach against himself, that, his reproach, return not unto him.

19 Então virará seu rosto para as fortalezas de sua terra; mas tropeçará e cairá, e não será mais achado.

Therefore will he turn his face towards the fortresses of his land, —but he shall stagger and fall, and shall not be found.

20 E em seu lugar se levantará um que fará passar um cobrador de impostos para glória real; mas em poucos dias será quebrantado, não por causa de ira nem de batalha.

Then will rise up in his stead, one causing an exactor to pass through the ornament of the kingdom, —but, in a few days, shall he be broken in pieces, not with anger, nor in battle.

21 Depois se levantará em seu lugar um ser desprezível, ao qual não darão a honra real; mas virá durante a quietude, e tomará o reino por meio de enganos.

Then will rise up in his stead, one despised, and they will not lay upon him the dignity of the kingdom, —but he will come in unexpectedly, and strengthen the kingdom by flatteries;

22 E exércitos em grande volume serão repelidos diante dele, e serão quebrantados; assim como também o príncipe do pacto.

and, the arms of an overflowing flood, will sweep all before him, and they shall be broken in pieces, —moreover also, the prince of a covenant;

23 E depois de fizerem acordos com ele, ele usará engano, e subirá; será fortalecido [mesmo] com pouca gente.

and, by reason of the leaguing against him, he will work deceitfully, and will come up and become strong, with a small nation.

24 Quando houver tranquilidade nas mais prósperas [regiões] da província, ele virá e fará o que nunca fizeram seus pais, nem os pais de seus pais; ele repartirá presa, despojos, e riquezas entre os seus; e voltará seus pensamentos contra as fortalezas; porém [somente] por um tempo.

Unexpectedly, even into the rich places of the province, will he enter, and will do what neither his fathers nor his father’s fathers had done, prey and spoil and substance—among them, will he scatter, —and, against strongholds, will he devise plots even until a (convenient) time.

25 E despertará sua forças e sua coragem contra o rei do sul, com grande exército; e o rei do sul se agitará para a guerra com grande e muito poderoso exército; mas não prevalecerá, porque tramarão planos contra ele.

Then will he stir up his strength and his heart, against the king of the south, with a great army, and, the king of the south, will wage war, with a great and exceedingly mighty army, —but will make no stand, for they will devise against him plots;

26 Até os que comerem de sua comida o destruirão; e seu exército será repelido, e muitos cairão mortos.

and, they who have been eating his delicacies, will break him in pieces, and, his army, will he overwhelm like a flood, —and many wounded, will fall.

27 E o coração destes dois reis será para fazer mal, e em uma mesma mesa falarão mentiras; mas isto não terá sucesso, pois ainda [haverá] o fim no tempo determinado.

Now, as for the two kings, their heart, will be set on acting wickedly, and, at one table, will they speak, falsehood, —but it shall not succeed, for yet is the end for an appointed time.

28 E voltará para sua terra com grande riqueza, e seu coração será contra o pacto santo; e ele fará [o que decidir], e voltará a sua terra.

So then he will return to his own land, with great substance, with, his heart, set upon a holy covenant; yea he will act with effect, and return to his own land.

29 A certo tempo voltará a vir ao sul; mas a última [vinda] não será como a primeira.

At the appointed time, will he again enter the south, —but it shall not be like the former, nor like the latter.

30 Porque navios de Quitim virão contra ele, de modo que ele se entristecerá, voltará, e se indignará contra o pacto santo, e ele fará [o que decidir]; pois quando voltar, ele dará atenção aos que tiverem abandonado o pacto santo.

Then will come in against him the ships of Cyprus, and he will be disheartened, and again have indignation against a holy covenant, and will act with effect, —and again gain intelligence, concerning them who are forsaking a holy covenant.

31 E tropas virão da parte dele, e profanarão o santuário e a fortaleza; tirarão o contínuo [sacrifício], e porão uma abominação assoladora.

And, arms, from him, will arise, —and will profane the sanctuary, the fortress, and will set aside the continual [ascending-sacrifice], and place the horrid abomination that astoundeth.

32 E com lisonjas ele perverterá aos violadores do pacto; mas o povo que conhece a seu Deus com força resistirá.

And, them who are ready to deal lawlessly with a covenant, will he make impious by flatteries, —but, the people who know their God, will be strong and act with effect.

33 E os entendidos do povo ensinarão a muitos; porém cairão à espada e a fogo, por meio de cativeiro e de despojo, por [muitos] dias.

And, they who make the people wise, will impart understanding to the many, —yet shall they be brought low, by sword and by flame, by captivity and by prey, for some days;

34 E quando eles caírem, serão ajudados por um pequeno socorro; contudo muitos se aliarão a eles através de enganos.

but, when they are brought low, they shall be helped with a little help, —and many, will join themselves unto them, by flatteries;

35 E alguns dos sábios cairão para serem refinados, purificados e limpos, até o tempo do fim; porque [isto] ainda será para o tempo determinado.

and, of them who make wise, some shall be brought low, to refine them, and to purify and make white, up to the time of the end, —for yet is it for an appointed time.

36 E o rei fará a sua vontade; e se exaltará, e se engrandecerá sobre todo deus; ele falará coisas arrogantes contra o Deus dos deuses, e será próspero, até que a ira se complete; pois o que está determinado será feito.

And the king, will do according to his own pleasure, and will exalt himself, and magnify himself against every GOD, yea, against the GOD of GODS, will he speak wonderful things, —and will succeed, until exhausted is the indignation, for, what is decreed, must be done;

37 Ele não respeitará os deuses de seus pais, nem para o preferido das mulheres; nem respeitará deus algum, pois se engrandecerá sobre todos.

and, for the god of his fathers, will he have no regard, nor, for the delight of women, nor for any god, will he have regard, —for, against all, will he magnify himself.

38 Mas em seu lugar honrará ao deus das fortalezas, um deus que seus pais nem sequer conheceram; ele o horará com ouro, prata, pedras preciosas, e com coisas de grande valor.

Howbeit, to the god of the fortresses, in his place, will he give honour, —even to a god whom his fathers, knew not, will he give honour, with gold and with silver and with precious stones and with articles of delight.

39 E ele atacará fortes fortalezas com o deus estrangeiro; aos que o reconhecerem, ele aumentará a honra; e ele os fará terem domínio sobre muitos, e repartirá a terra por preço.

And he will prepare, for the strongholds of the fortress of the sea, the people of an alien god, whom he will acknowledge—will greatly honour, —and will give them authority over the many, and, the soil, will he apportion for a price.

40 E no tempo do fim o rei do sul lutará contra ele; e o rei do norte levantará como tempestade contra ele, com carruagens, cavaleiros, e muitos navios; e entrará pelas terras, arruinará como se fosse inundação, e passará.

And, in the time of the end, will the king of the south, push at him, and the king of the north, will rush against him, with chariots and with horsemen, and with many ships, —and he will enter the lands, and overwhelm and pass over;

41 E virá à terra gloriosa, e muitos [povos] cairão; mas estes escaparão de sua mão: Edom, Moabe, e os líderes dos filhos de Amom.

yea he will enter the beautiful land, and, many [lands], shall be laid low, —but, these, shall be delivered out of his hand, Edom and Moab, and the first portion of the sons of Ammon;

42 E estenderá sua mão a [outras] terras, e a terra do Egito não escapará.

yea he will thrust forth his hand against the lands, —and, the land of Egypt, shall have no deliverance;

43 E se apoderará dos tesouros de ouro e prata, e de todas as coisas valiosas do Egito, os líbios e os cuxitas o seguirão.

and he will have authority over the treasures of gold and silver, and over all the delightful things of Egypt, —with Libyans and Ethiopians among his followers;

44 Porém notícias do oriente e do norte o espantarão; e ele sairá com grande furor para destruir e matar muitos.

but, tidings, will terrify him, out of the east, and out of the north, —therefore will he go forth with great fury, to destroy and to devote many;

45 E armará a tendas de seu palácio entre os mares, no glorioso monte santo; mas ele virá a seu fim, e não haverá quem o ajude.

and will plant his palace-home between the seas, towards the beautiful holy mountain, but shall come to his end, with none to help him.
