Daniel 10
1 No terceiro ano de Ciro rei da Pérsia, foi revelada uma palavra a Daniel, cujo nome era chamado Beltessazar; e a palavra é verdadeira, e sobre uma grande guerra; e ele entendeu a palavra, e teve entendimento da visão.
In the third year of Cyrus king of Persia a word was revealed unto Daniel, whose name was called Belteshazzar; and the word was true, even a great warfare; and he gave heed to the word, and had understanding of the vision.
2 Naqueles dias eu, Daniel, me entristeci durante três semanas completas.
In those days I Daniel was mourning three whole weeks.
3 Não comi alimento agradável, nem carne nem vinho entrou em minha boca, nem me untei com unguento, até que se completassem três semanas.
I ate no pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
4 E aos vinte e quatro dias do primeiro mês, estava eu na margem do grande rio Tigre;
And in the four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great river, which is Tigris,
5 Então levantei meus olhos, e olhei, e eis um homem vestido de linho, e cingidos seus lombos de ouro fino de Ufaz;
I lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a man clothed in linen, whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz;
6 E seu corpo era como berilo, seu rosto parecia um relâmpago; seus olhos eram como tochas de fogo, e seus braços e seus pés como de cor de bronze polido; e a voz de suas palavras era como a voz de uma multidão.
his body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as torches of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to burnished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
7 E somente eu, Daniel, vi aquela visão, e os homens que estavam comigo não a viram; porém caiu sobre eles um grande temor, de tal modo que fugiram e se esconderam.
And I Daniel alone saw the vision; for the men that were with me saw not the vision; howbeit a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
8 Fiquei, pois, eu só, e vi esta grande visão, e não ficou em mim força alguma; antes minha boa aparência se tornou em palidez, sem reter força alguma.
So that I was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in me; for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no strength.
9 Porém ouvi a voz de suas palavras; e enquanto ouvia a voz de suas palavras, eu caí em profundo sono sobre meu rosto, com meu rosto em terra.
Yet heard I the voice of his words; and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I fallen into a deep sleep on my face, with my face toward the ground.
10 E eis que uma mão me tocou, e fez que eu me movesse sobre meus joelhos, e sobre as palmas de minhas mãos.
And, behold, a hand touched me, which set me tottering upon my knees and upon the palms of my hands.
11 E disse-me: Daniel, homem muito querido, entende as palavras que falarei contigo, e levanta-te sobre teus pés; porque agora sou enviado a ti. E enquanto ele falava comigo esta palavra, eu estava tremendo.
And he said unto me: 'O Daniel, thou man greatly beloved, give heed unto the words that I speak unto thee, and stand upright; for now am I sent unto thee'; and when he had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
12 E ele me disse: Não temas, Daniel; porque desde o primeiro dia em que deste teu coração a entender, e a te afligir na presença de teu Deus, foram ouvidas tuas palavras; e foi por causa de tuas palavras que eu vim.
Then said he unto me: 'Fear not, Daniel; for from the first day that thou didst set thy heart to understand, and to humble thyself before thy God, thy words were heard; and I am come because of thy words.
13 Mas o príncipe do reino da Pérsia se pôs contra mim por vinte e um dias; e eis que Miguel, um dos principais chefes, veio para me ajudar, e eu fiquei ali com os reis da Pérsia.
But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days; but, lo, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I was left over there beside the kings of Persia.
14 Agora vim para te fazer entender o que irá acontecer a teu povo nos últimos dias; porque a visão ainda é para [muitos] dias;
Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the end of days; for there is yet a vision for the days.'
15 E tendo ele falado comigo estas palavras, abaixei meu rosto em terra, e emudeci.
And when he had spoken unto me according to these words, I set my face toward the ground, and was dumb.
16 E eis que [alguém] semelhante aos filhos dos homens tocou meus lábios. Então abri minha boca, e falei, e disse ao que estava diante de mim: Meu senhor, por causa da visão minhas dores se tornam sobre mim, sem que eu retenha força alguma.
And, behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips; then I opened my mouth, and spoke and said unto him that stood before me: 'O my lord, by reason of the vision my pains are come upon me, and I retain no strength.
17 Como pode, pois, o servo de meu senhor falar com este meu senhor? Pois desde agora não resta força em mim, e não me ficou fôlego.
For how can this servant of my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither was there breath left in me.'
18 E [aquele] que parecia com um homem me tocou outra vez, e me confortou;
Then there touched me again one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me.
19 E disse: Não temas, homem querido, paz seja contigo; sê forte! Sê forte! E tendo ele falado comigo, fortaleci-me, e disse: Fale meu senhor, pois tu me fortaleceste.
And he said: 'O man greatly beloved, fear not! peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.' And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said: 'Let my lord speak; for thou hast strengthened me.'
20 E ele disse: Sabes por que vim ti? Pois agora voltarei para lutar contra o príncipe da Pérsia; e quando eu sair, eis que virá o príncipe da Grécia.
Then said he: Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight with the prince of Persia; and when I go forth, lo, the prince of Greece shall come.
21 Porém eu te declararei o que está escrito na escritura de verdade; e ninguém há que se esforce comigo contra eles, a não ser Miguel, vosso príncipe.
Howbeit I will declare unto thee that which is inscribed in the writing of truth; and there is none that holdeth with me against these, except Michael your prince.
